  1. Well, Sweden is the perfect example of an independent country that's been shaped through socialism (social democracy) continuing even to this date. We're often labeled the most democratic and least corrupted nation in the world. Socialism need not be a bad idea, you just have to keep watch for socialism when it's a counter-movement to a extreme-right government (Imperial Russia, Cuba, et.c.). Extremism breeds extremism. Personally, I guess other people would call me an adherent to socialism. I hold the redistribution of wealth to be the most important concept of socialism and I do support a free market, which I do believe can be accomplished perfectly well in a socialist economy. To argue that socialism inherently advocates shutting down TV channels is just plain silly.
  2. It's these kinds of things which make me want to get into politics
  3. Our next year will focus on improving export revenue, investingating possibilities for aid and loans and increasing agricultural efficiency. We will speak to: Cotton Cultivator, Vicente Castillo Ayala Coffee Grower, Jesus Cabrales Murillo USA Ambassador, L. Quentin Buffard Cuban Consul, Dr. Ricardo Guzman Micola Banker, Jorge Quezada Sonnichsen In addition to these, we will talk to: The Internal Affairs Minister about Death Squads and Human Rights The Internal Affairs Minister about Education The Agriculture Minister about Shortages of Food The External Affairs Minister about Corruption
  4. Meeting #1: REFUSE We can't afford this yet. Also, neglecting this might not bring us into immidiate trouble, because "the less people know, the more easily they will believe the lies they're told". Meeting #2: ACCEPT ADVICE I'm not so sure on this one, but we must support both domestic production of food for the internal market and coffee for the export market. Meeting #5: ACCEPT ADVICE Obviously, the production of food for our own use is a high priority in order to secure the people's most basic needs. If large estates has created inefficiency in the farming process, we would do well to redistribute the land. When our population is more educated and we have more "higher- level" jobs in our country people won't need to rely on own production of food and we can reincorporate the small farms into the big ones. Meeting #8: ACCEPT ADVICE I have a feeling this choice will positively affect our trade income. If that is not the case, option 1 does not seem to shabby either. Meeting #9: ACCEPT ADVICE This one seemed to be an easy choice for me. I wouldn't dare to choose option 1, except for if our population was starving or if we were very technologically advanced.
  5. Doesn't your country offer automatic asylum for women from countries like Iran or Saudi Arabia, but not for LBGT people from the same countries? I bet we do... It's not hard to prove that you're a woman, but it might be harder to prove that you are lesbian, bisexual, gay and transsexual.
  6. I agree, although there are a lot of things to take into consideration when evaluating future scenarios. Even if Iraq goes well, there are a lot of other things which might go (or things which have already gone) wrong. What if "Peace in the Middle East" had been on Bush's agenda instead of the invasion of Iraq? What would have happened if he had instead pushed Israel harder to solve the Palestinian refugee problem? Could a possible future showdown with Iran or genocide of Israelis and/ or Palestinians have been avoided? Regardless of the situation in Iraq, the situation in the Middle East as a whole remains problematic.
  7. Don't the majority of swedes and immigrants live in southern Sweden? I draw the line at Stockholm as the northest part of southern Sweden. I mean, a lot of people usually inflate any type of conflict. I draw the line at Sm
  8. In Sweden, immigration works OK I guess, with the sole exception of southern Sweden (that's where all the racists live. I blame Danish influence).
  9. I'm not entirely sure on that one. One can be very "smart" (as in high IQ) but still make very bad decisions in life.
  10. Ooo, I recognize Grey DeLisle and Courtenay Taylor, at least...
  11. I thought the stuff about gods, planes and alignments was pretty thought out in 3rd ed. That was really what set FR apart from [generic fantasy world]. Now it's all removed and even though I think 4th ed rules makes for a playable (perhaps even fun!) game, 4th ed fluff is just like the old, but more boring and generic. If Obsidian makes a new DnD RPG, please do not let it take place in the FR.
  12. As I understood things, it was a centrist politician that proposed to arrest the Farsante Guard. I don't think people from either side of the political spectrum will disagree too much with that decision, and I'd say we risk an immidiate counterrevolution if we do not take care of such things fast. Also, let's not do too many things that cost money and get us in debt, shall we?
  13. I vote to accept every proposal except the one from the Teacher, which I'd like to refuse.
  14. Thief 4 and Syberia 3. Those might prove to be interesting games! I hope they do Thief in a modern setting, just like what they were working on before Ion Storm shut down.
  15. Umm, Demigod has been out for a while now... Not in Sweden FYI, I do not download games.
  16. Diablo 3 - Only because of Boyarski. I used to love Blizzard's graphical style in the old SC and Diablo games, but then WC3 and WoW came out and ruined that reputation. Starcraft 2 - Does not look as good at all as it's predecessor, but I think that regardless of a lacking visual style, it will be a good, balanced, fun online RTS. Hearts of Iron 3 - The sequel to the best WW2 RTS game ever. No additional comments needed. Alpha Protocol - Duh. Fallout: New Vegas - I thought the Fallout franchise would be lost forever to Bethesda and MMORPG silliness, but apparently not. Demigod - The next generation in online RTS games? Zeno Clash came out a few days ago (and was utterly awesome), so it doesn't count as a game I'm looking forward to anymore. Also, I am secretly looking forward to the Sims 3. Dragon Age has me intrigued, but I've really found it hard playing Bioware games after I was massively disappointed with NWN.
  17. I also hate it when it says "push B button" and you are supposed to understand the the "B button" is in fact K on your keyboard, or something like that.
  18. Just about every intelligence service in the world? That's simply not true. Also, the most important party, the weapon inspectors, did not believe Iraq had and WMD capacity. And that's not counting the people in US intelligence who disagreed.
  19. Hm. I misread the first sentence in your request and it became "a fecal system for marking explored areas". I posted to say that was a rad over-the-top idea, but nvm.
  20. Keep in mind that he had actually been asked to find such evidence. I'm not sure anyone fabricated anything though. It could be that the CIA were just wrong and the leaders in charge were just not smart enough to see that. Don't you agree? It's obvious that certain people (the PNAC crowd) wanted something of the kind, but I think this kind of thing is just what happens when a lot of angry, confused people of the same mind are gathered in the same place.
  21. Basically, I agree but the setting is in Nevada. How do you manage to express a vast and waste desert in a game without boring the players, then? By creating content that makes you want to explore.
