if you own them, yes, if I die or get alzheimmer and forget all of my passwords, and I would love my children to experience some games of my library, there is no legal way to manage this. Because even if they would like to rebuy the games, there is no way how to legaly obtain them, with PSN being the monopoly purchase platform for these consoles. Even if the developer/publisher would love to give you the game for free. The best preservation method would be give a backwards compatibility in your current gem hardware and allow you to relicense/reactivate your library on this hardware or allow new customers to purchase it that way.
Also there is another bug/feature on PS4, which is causing similar stuff. If your battery runs out, and you will not be able to connect your console to the Sony servers, your console will not be able to play even the physical discs.
