  1. This is pretty much my experience with the Witcher. I do think they absolutely nailed the setting and atmosphere, and there were a few nice ideas along the way (alchemy, the small artwork montages showing consequences to your actions) but overall I think it was a pretty bad game. Almost all of that was down to crappy execution though, at least in terms of story, writing and all that, so I hope they can get it right with the second game.
  2. A new 'Making of' clocking it at almost half an hour: Gotta say it looks immensely impressive. The characters look well-realized I think, only Tyrion is a bit disappointing in that he doesn't look as grotesque as he should. But it looks pretty marvelous overall.
  3. After finally finishing up an old NWN2 save I had (seriously though, I think parts of Act 3 are pretty good though the game is rather mediocre overall), I'm finally into MotB. Gonna be fun to replay this one and I am still a bit stunned at how good it looks. They really nailed the visual direction with this campaign I think.
  4. I love Torment to death but the characters always looked horrendous in those 3d shots/cutscenes. Only the Nameless One was cool and that's cause he was already an ugly zombie basically.
  5. They're gonna release a new character trailer today though right? Unless the schedule changed with the delay.
  6. Still hurting like hell from the wisdom tooth extraction yesterday. Still, the day hasn't been too bad but could barely get any sleep. Also had a slight fever from it today. Normally very resistant to pain so this is really annoying me. But at least bleeding has stopped and I think it's gonna feel better soon
  7. I doubt that the Witcher 2 has much of an effect on this, it being a PC only title and Square-enix being a console-focused company. I guess that there will just be additional polishing.
  8. Sorry, I heard the cries of the Obsidian forums in the wind and I got here as fast as I could. Alas... I was not fast enough!
  9. Oh god game will be crap, Obsidian will be shut down, Avellone will explode in a rain of fire, the world will end, Volourn will start making sense, funcroc will stop posting news, WUE will stop being pessimistic on forums, Feargus will stop talking fast. THE APOCALYPSE IS UPON US! The delay isn't even a full month, no reason to soil pants yet.
  10. I'm smashing all my Obsidian DVDs as we speak.
  11. Had a wisdom tooth pulled out today. Went really smooth thankfully, but it does hurt quite a bit now that the anasthetics are wearing off. Though I think my wallet is hurting more.
  12. Hm, next month sounds believable for a release I suppose. I hope the other two comes out fairly quickly after. But I hope they get some more info going before this preview is out.
  13. And buy Knights of the Chalice while you're at it, biotches.
  14. I think that's definitely something that should be considered. Not all female gamers are anti-sexiness. It was talked about a bit in the DS3 part of the forum when Katarina was revealed (not particularly pleased with the armor designs I saw there I might add). I have a female friend who *always* picks the sexy-looking stuff for her characters. I think this is pretty common. It doesn't really bother me too much when characters are done sexually, I just wish there were more... balance in that, yes, one can design aesthetically pleasing armors/characters that doesn't reveal everything. I don't demand armors to be 100% logical, far from it. But I do wish more designs would meet half-way between being logical and nice to look at. A lot of the time, it seems *zero* thought is put into whether the armor would actually work in combat at all. And once again, one can design armors that are complimentary to the female form without making them look like porn-stars. And semi on-topic, I really liked the designs for Safiya and Kaelyn in MotB.
  15. The game looks really nice and atmospheric (like the first one did) but there is a lot of stuff that have to be improved from the first game in order for this to be enjoyable. Hope they can do it because it'd be a shame to waste the well-realized setting.
  16. I just finished the first book (truly amazing, best fantasy I've read) so it looks like I'm just in time to watch the series when it comes out. I guess small changes will always rub one the wrong way a bit after reading the book but the preview is extremely impressive and I really look forward to following the series.
  17. Not sure if there'll be any full-blown banter like in Dragon Age or whatever but we know that companions will comment on certain areas and such when going through them. Some of it may be character-sensitive, I remember that New York demo where Lucas and Anjali were fighting together, they open a chest and find a piece of armor inside. And Anjali said something like "I'm sure that'll look more flattering on me than you."
  18. We don't know as of yet how it will work. But if you're worried that won't like a mouse control scheme on the PC, you can always get a controller, plug it in and play that way. I might do this myself since it really seems like the game would work best with a controller but I'll wait and see how the PC controls are worked out first.
  19. Not really familiar with this guy's work, but should be fun to to hear what he's come up with.
  20. I wonder how the production has worked on the upcoming DLCs. Since all DLCs seem to have been worked on, perhaps Bethesda is planning on getting them out within a short time frame and get hype rolling that way. Getting a momentum going.
  21. And as a way of comparison, I believe Mask of the Betrayer was rated T as well? Certainly not M rated at least.
  22. If it means slowing down computer upgrades as well, I'm all for it. The environments look pretty nice I must say. The second shot with the foggy mountains the background is wonderful.
  23. About what I expected but wow... The description is kinda hilarious when you just read it like that.
  24. The random encounters were pretty much the only thing I missed from Fallout 3 (well, they were in 1 and 2 as well) in New Vegas. But to be honest, I don't think they made for a huge gameplay difference in Fallout 3. But it was nice for some randomness.
  25. It's been said before but yeah, the lighting and colors make the game come alive really. I wonder if the guy doing the narration for these videos is also featured in the game itself. Always liked him as a voiceactor, he has done some awesome stuff (he was superb as Dean in Dead Money, think it's the same guy at least?).
