I'm kinda looking forward to seeing what Bulletstorm will play like as well. People Can Fly really nailed the "kill everything in awesome ways, empower the player" type of shooter in Painkiller I think and I really hope Bulletstorm will be like that as well. The videos look fun but haven't really sold me on it, but then again I pretty much disliked the idea of Painkiller as well before I actually played it so we'll see. I also don't like that it seems to be more story-driven. Screw the story, cutscenes, companions and such. Just let me loose and let me wreak havoc damnit.

I kinda wonder if someone who worked on the elves in DA had played FFXI. One of the Dalish elves are called Mithra (which is a race in FFXI) and the Dalish outfits with the top and bare stomach kinda looks like the Mithra's starting gear in FFXI.

Hey there Dave, good to see you popping in here! Any idea when we can expect more previews/footage/trailer up on the Internet for our viewing pleasure? Also, are there different difficulty levels, and if so, how many? Thanks.

Dungeon Siege 3 at New York Comic Con
Starwars replied to funcroc's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
Oh yeah, definitely. And I guess it will depend on when they're really aiming for a release. But still, they *are* showing it off since people from the EU magazines are seeing it, they have shown off the demo at conventions, the game appears to be moving along well in terms of production (looks really slick, previews have mentioned that it feels smooth and so forth). Would be nice to get something more for us Internet dwellers. -

^--- Huh, what's that? Haven't heard of it before. And I like little weird indie-projects (it looks like one). Anyways, was rewatching the demonstrations from New York earlier. Kinda struck me now that the game really is extremely beautiful. The colors and the lighting makes it very nice on the eyes, but yeah... We need more infos, more trailers/footage for those of us who aren't at conventions/press events but are sitting at our computers. -

NWN2 platinum is on sale again. Also, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl and STALKER: Call of Pripyat are on sale for 5 euros. A great, great deal for such fun games.

Replaying Painkiller (the original), love this game. Completely designed towards kicking butt in various and creative ways, weapons are awesome as are most of the levels.

Well, I just woke up after some rather intense New Years celebrations... Man I feel awful. Worst hangover I've had in a really long time, usually don't get them too bad.

Both of the older games are still a lot of fun. I actually played the SNES one not too long ago and really enjoyed it. And yeah, it'd be cool to have a RPG in the setting made by OEI.

I dunno man... I think it'd be kinda sad to be stuck modeling an ass while a project leader is shouting at you that it should be more curvy, more pouty, etc. "Come on man, dat ass is gonna be in more close-ups than her face goddamnit!" And yeah, Miranda just looks plain *weird* in game. Like a mix between the model above and Shrek.

Huh, I really liked Searchlight. One of few places where I enjoyed the whole "filter" use, think it was appropiately creepy to go through there. I still hold some of the Vault to be the most atmospheric though. Vault 11 and Vault 22 in particular were *very* well-made I think.

Thanks Morgoth. Yeah... Hope there will be more substantial stuff soon. -
Still not really seeing the appeal of the combat as it is shown in these vids, but perhaps it's one of those "have to try it" things. Anyways, has it been revealed if it's the same composer as for the first game? I really enjoyed the music in the first one, one of the best things about the game.

Replaying Dragon Age at the moment, started up a female city elf rogue. It's funny... Each time I start the game up I have naysayers comments on the internet fresh in my mind, and my own dislike for many "Biowarisms", but Dragon Age always pulls me in right away despite all that. It's an excellent game, certainly Bioware's best if you ask me. Anyways, also tried installing some mods. Mostly tweaks and fixes but I also gave in and installed the Ser Gilmore NPC mod. I have no idea as to the quality of this, I tend to be dubious of companion mods, but I guess we'll see!

Just finished another playthrough. I gotta say, playing as a female courier and helping Cass out on her quest the non-violent way... The little speech Cass does during her ending slide is completely awesome. I really love the endings, it's too bad *someone* forgot to tell the narrator for Primm that the rest of the slides use a past tense. Kinda annoying. But still, the ending is fantastic.

I really enjoy the ideas of both games but the design goals of AoD resonates a bit more with me personally I think. Dead State sounds very creative and unique but I think there's the possibility of a few "trapfalls" in the whole survival design that could turn out very annoying for my personal tastes. I hope not though. I enjoyed the hell out of the AoD combat demo, played it over and over again which makes me hopeful for the full-on game. I'm glad they're taking their time on this. I love the concept of indie gaming but there are few indie (with no publisher support) RPGs which I feel have really been worked out.

It's some company that the landlord (landlady I should say) hired. Don't think she'll be hiring them again. The landlady was actually here this morning as well and sorta stared in disbelief as the guy tried to get to work, which at least injected a bit of comedy into the whole thing. Anyways... The guy is making progress now! Though the entire thing will probably explode in my face in the evening or something.

Not having a good day today. Having a precious day off from work, figured I'd some cleaning around the apartment and just generally take it a bit easy. Yesterday the landlord called and said there'd be a guy coming in to fix a problematic radiator (or whatever it's called in English, you have it in the bathroom to heat it up and you typically hang things on it that you want to dry) that I have in my apartment. He'd be coming at 07.30am. Fine I think, they've switched these things out before and they always did it in a very timely manner so I figured I could go back to sleep afterwards. So yeah, I'm up at 07.30, but of course the guy doesn't show up until 09.00. Dude walks in and looks at the thing he's gonna change like he's never seen anything like it before. He proceeds to try and take it down without reducing the water pressure or whatever and proceeds to spray water over the entire bathroom. He runs down into the basement to fix that, fine. Comes back and find out he's missing a tool to be able to take it down (wtf), says he has to drive away and buy one (leaving his crap littering the apartment). This is around 10.30. He calls 11.30 and says he has finally tracked down the tool but will take his lunch before he comes around. Fine... It's now 02.50pm, and he's finally shown up with the magical tool. Let's see if he can fix this thing now. EDIT: And yeah, this is all the more annoying since the last time they switched out these things (my current one broke and is leaking a bit which is why it's being changed), it took them less than a hour FFUUUUU!

Environs look really pretty but ye gods, did anyone else think those faces looked extremely... creepy? The eyes, the eyes! Anyways, dice poker is one of few mini-games I tend to enjoy so glad to see it returning.

God Hurlshot... you're such a DOUCHE!

Sounds like fun Lexx, might give that a go on my next playthrough! Yeah, I think the biggest problems about adding quests to a game such as this is really just keeping the tone of the game and making it feel like it fits into the world. Many quest add-ons for Oblivion or F3 just feels like they're... really out there. Lack of voiceacting and stuff like that doesn't bother me, just purely design and tone-wise. The description of this looks rather promising I think. Anyways, my current playthrough is NCR, going with Cass and ED-E. Might actually be my most enjoyable playthrough yet, for reasons I'm not quite sure about. I haven't hit the level cap with any of my other characters but I think this one might, or get close to it. The companions definitely seem a bit more useful now since the patch (aside from the ones that were already really powerful), and the balancing of some of the guns have worked out well. Also, got This Machine for the first time. Really love using it.

I will only buy games that cost a maximum of 3.3452 dollars, have a maximum of 6 bugs (will stretch to 8 but ONLY IF NONE OF THEM ARE CRASHING BUGS), and receive exactly 4 patches (because if there are less then the developers clearly don't care, and if there are more then the game is clearly way too buggy to begin with). Also, there should be *always* be a letter of apology from the developers on the main screen of the game where they apologize for daring to release such a buggy product to me, the all-mighty customer. The game being fun and creative is clearly a secondary issue here. I want a *PRODUCT* that is flawless and that looks good.

Dungeon Siege 3 most likely. The Witcher 2 most likely as well, though it'll depend a bit on... well, how good it seems when it comes out I suppose. Probably Diablo 3 as well. Those are the only ones (that are fairly sure to drop in 2011 anyways) I'm almost sure to get.

At least it's good to just hear mention of the keyboard+mouse control scheme and that he felt it was intuitive. And I guess I hope that the linearity mentioned is mainly due to the areas demoed. I don't need an open-world game but I hope there's room for exploration and all that. Also, I kinda wonder how the coop mode will work on the PC. It's incredibly rare that I play multiplayer but it might be fun to try out in this.
