  1. I see the slick star-up marketing guy with the fancy laptop-power-point-show selling the idea dropping one catchphrase after another all including "the youth" and "the internet" and "the old" and "money" everything covered in stats and diagrams. And since the internet is the next sliced bread I see this working. Not here (a place full of rpg-monkeys who will buy only rpgs [and monkeys]), but imagine a thick-people-help-forum or stuff and some well integrated and clever ad-puppets. And when one company is doing it the others will follow and even if it's just fear that drives them.
  2. thanks...sounds like a game I will enjoy (even though I'm not familiar with superhero-comics) I will buy them as soon as this semester ends. and thanks for the hint with the bad german version...that sure would have made me not like them so why haven't I already played them?...a mystery
  3. ah, that's a question for me When someone asks what music I'm into this band gets definitely mentioned. They came out of nowhere for most people some years ago, in a time those pesky Superstar-shows were big on TV and the products of this machinery dominated the top10 with bad wannabe-English. Good thing about "Wir sind Helden" is that they are in no way artificial. They started as little band with no label and got famous by accident with "M
  4. when it was released I didn't want to play it for some reason (at least that's what I think, considering the fact that I heard of it, it's labled RPG, but I haven't played it yet), but now I can't remember why can someone enlighten me about the qualities of that game? (or, for that matter, shortcomings) is it any good? is it any rpg? and what about the sequel? thanks
  5. I'm sure you don't want me to start bring up things I blame Germany for hmmm? Sure you wouldn't like it. Frappr! says this wookiee is from the netherlands...from far away it may seem that there is no difference, but, long story short, it has something to do with caravans and sauerkraut and being two distinct countries...so he wouldn't care, I guess...but that's not my business however, for no apparent reason I am kind of curious what you want to blame germany for?
  6. thanks for making this thing...I think I won't buy kotor2 until this mod is finished (or downloadable-and-kind-of-working) will it work with versions from other countries?...countries in which the silly inhabitants refuse to make english their only language (I wouldn't mind some english here and there, but I have to know whether I have to order the game from far away or not) is there some commutation with the friendly people of obsidian?...the ones whose content got cut...thinking of it, you probably can't speak of it, because of some legal-mumbo-jumbo...but, man, that would be awesome
  7. Anachronox...glad to see it's getting the credit it deserves...it is THE funny (the trailer I occasionally link to) the old LucasArts stuff is good too...but I would go with Grim Fandango as the best of them...and even though Monkey Island III breaks with some traditions (and story-lines) it's still one of the very good ones oh, and Psychonauts...2005s fun game
  8. Anachronox - first part of a trilogy, but remained the last one until this day (and will be for days to come) - trailer Psychonauts - count the fingers on one of your hands and you have the number of copies sold (+/- 2) The Dig - one of my favorite Adventures, but I think it didn't got big love because of outdated graphics and not-so-monkey-islandish-humour Grim Fandango - best adventure ever; sold some copies, but not THE numbers...helped to create this LucasArts
  9. Those things don't matter much if the gameplay doesn't interest you. it worked for me even while the (not my kind of gameplay) jump-parts I enjoyed the game (-s originality) but maybe it's just me being a fanboy...a good-games-fanboy
  10. To be honest, I know what you mean. It has its annoying parts. But there is so much more. Every level has its own personality. You breath the heard and soul of the people behind it in every bit of it. Every line of dialogue is thought over, every character is far beyond flat, every piece of graphic is made with a sense of artistry. Maybe it wasn't a good decision to make it a kind-of-platformer, because it doesn't reinvent the genre. But it's still an extraordinary good and funny and original game. And as far as I am concerned with the game-industry it hurt quite a bit to read about the downright disastrous sales-numbers of such a game. (the article Pope linked to has written "people are stupid" all over it) It just sucks to see a game like Psychonauts, with all its qualities, with all its oppositional-to-EAness getting bought by so few. Hopefully Tim Schafer will continue to make games. just buy it, now
  11. me neither but I like story, characters, funny, originality, dialogue and psychnonauts has plenty of quality-stuff like that and it isn't that much of a platformer...it's one of those goodoldadventure-platform-actionadventures
  12. it actually won that award...and people are still stupid
  13. Psychonauts...won three out of six so far got them for voice-acting, best graphics - artistic and for being funny missed the ones for story, music and best new character that is good (except for Raz not totally winning) sad is that it will also win the "best game no one played"-award...people are stupid
  14. @silver to post your location and a picture that shows you (an actual [good looking] female) drunken on an rpg-board...I wouldn't have the balls for that
  15. I kind of heard of something like this but forgot about it...so: what? a Dungeon Siege movie...man...this sums it up pretty good...one of the few games I didn't finish because there was no sense at all behind it...at least he doesn't rape some universe I care for
  16. jackass: the movie...with an outstanding horrible german synchronization (they dubbed even the laughter)...okay, that's not the movie living from it's dialog, but much of the appeal of the (always subtitled) series came from the hilarious comments and the reactions of the crew...johnny knoxvilles contagious laughter...and now we have some r

  22. what annoys me the most is that first those theoreticians seem to argue on a scientific level, saying that science can't explaine the complexity of the universe/nature/my (speaking of omnipotence: short-sighted) eyes and that it can't be evolution and then switch to semi-religion-mode stating that a higher intelligence which designed this to-much-for-nature-complexity is a far better explanation and still keep a straight face it just feels like it's against the rules of science vs. religion
  23. while somehow understanding the purpose of email-spam I just don't get this spam-thing...even if mr orange (if you are real: hello..if not...uhm...wtf) is not a bot, can someone explaine to me what THEY want to achieve with silly talking forum-bots
