  1. Humanity has a long history of designing ever better systems and institutions to shackle and contain the negatives of human nature. The internet being a cesspool isn't surprising in the least. Why are perfectly decent people offline **** online? Because the costs of being an **** are very small in anonymous environments. Remove anonymity and have people shame whoever they disagree with, and most will modify their behaviour. Just like they do offline. Of cousrse, anonymity isn't all bad. Not having to bear the costs for speaking your mind if others disagree can be a good thing, because it encourages honesty.
  2. This isn't particularly tactical. The AI is using the *same* tactic over and over again--rush the back line. Rush the back line. Rush the back line. I did adapt--I got through the area, eventually. It's a hard tactic to deal with--it is basically designed to **** me--but it's also *EXTREMELY* predictable. The Mercenary Beserker will *ALWAYS* jump over the tank, knocking him prone, and attack my back line. The Mercenary Warrior will *always* break engagement and rush the back line. It's not an "occasional" thing, it's not a "sometimes" thing. It's an entirely predictable event that you can depend on, and therefor manipulate. The complaint before was that you always were doing the same things over and over again? You still are. It's just a longer, more complicated sequence. When one move is superior, you'll always chose that one. This doens't make it "not tactical". Tactical doesn't mean a player randomises over inferior strategies. Just think about how another human players would fight your party. There'd be no uselessly hitting your indestructable fighters whilst the Ciphers and the Mage annihilate everyone. Now, as I've said before, the AI employing optimal tactics doesn't necessarily make the game more enjoyable to play.
  3. I think so. It's more content in the main game you can go to during the main plot after you get the stronghold (more or less). It's not a continuation past main game plot. Are there any requirements other than getting the stronghold? I started a new game and have the stronghold now but there doesn't seem to be a way to access the new content
  4. Seems like glass cannon/impotent tank teams are going to require substantial micromanagement.
  5. Sounds annoying. I know everyone's constantly complaining how easy the game is with their TOI POTD solo deliberately gimped character is and ideally you'd want the AI to be using expert cheese tactics like the human players themselves, but there is a trade off here. I'm not keen on every fight requiring a huge amount of micromanagement because the AI is now playing like humans.
  6. I use GOG as well and found it to be very straightforward. I hadn't played in months, so was missing some updates. You need all the updates from where you stopped and install them in order, including hot fixes. The last one, 2.0, is huge (>1gb) but that's the only one. Then you can download and install White March.
  7. I've started a new game now and just unlocked Caed Nua. No letter, no notice. When is it supposed to come? Do I need a certain level with the main character? Do I need to progress the story further in Defiance Bay? Do I need to construct certain buildings?
  8. Atmosphere is missing in this poll... Atmosphere for Kotor, Story for TSL.
  9. No it seems like Jar Jar would be the far better choice.
  10. Episode V is the best movie. However several parts of episode III or I are better (naturally). Lightsaber duels for example.
  11. Who said starwars makes sense? I agree with you. It just wasn't a particulary good idea to have Anaking go from *slightly troubled jedi* to *children killing monster* in half an hour...
  12. Malachor V tried to be creepy but that failed imo. Also, the lack of story there is annoying. The starforge on the other hand was the climax of Kotor I and as such it served well. You're in a constant hurry, troops and Sith are running towards you from every direction, and you fight through levels of the Starforge which Malak passed just moments ago in cutscenes. That's motivating.
