No one is ignoring it but you simply will not accept the FACT that someone can be more valuable than LeBron.. And now we return to March Madness ...... UCLA bounces UAB to be the first team into the sweet 16 Kentucky has a 7 point lead at halftime over Cincinnati

Fixed it for you.

No. MVP isn't about who plays on the better team. I agree it is about making the biggest impact though. It's about who raises the performance of his team the most. And you can do that by taking a dumpster fire of a team to the playoffs JUST as readily as you can by raising the level of a good team to historically good levels. It's about relative improvements. Davis' PER is HISTORICALLY off the charts. It ranks as one of the top 5 of ALL time. Yeah the Pelicans are a one and done assuming they make it, but that doesn't matter. If you don't like PER as a measure, that's fine. But it's every bit as valid as +/- imo. I simply don't think it is such a clear cut call as you make it. And frankly, Westbrook's stats are better across the board and he's had to raise the level of his game without Ibaka and now Durant. And wasn't that one of the arguments we all used last year when advocating Durant for MVP? Sorry. I get the case you make but I do not think it's cut and dried. And no, Volo. LeBron is NOT the MVP this year. You continue to equate MVP and being the best player and that is not true. Even if it were, it's questionable whether Lebron's stats this year put him on the top of the list. Harden and Westbrook are outscoring him; Westbrook and Curry are dishing out more assists. Davis's PER is WAY higher and leading the league in blocks and is pulling down 10+ rebounds a game plus he's just a hair behind LBJ in scoring. And he's doing it with a totally crap team.
-
Turning a totally crap team into a playoff team MIGHT however. Ask yourself where NO would be without Davis. I don't care WHERE his contributions come from - offense or defense - he simply makes that team MUCH better. Without Curry GS is STILL a playoff team although certainly not one with the best record. FWIW I never mentioned anything about whether he was a legit defensive player of the year candidate. And back to March Madness. lol Midwest Regional goes chalk and except for Dayton (!) so does the East.

Nobody said it wasn't surprising. Orogun just said it was selling terribly and it's NOT. Jesus H Christ. You might have actually read the link where it compares the sales from comparable points in their life span. Like this does.: There you are. A comparison based on the two series at similar points in their life span. Like that one better?

Have a feeling it will sell pretty well regardless. Hype, perhaps. Nope, it's selling terribly. LOL No. http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2015/03/marvels-female-thor-outsells-male-version.html

18 games finished and 2 underway (WVU and N.Iowa with double digit leads) and only four higher seeds lost. That seems about par for the course at this stage. The only real shockers in those four upsets were Georgia State and UAB. Ohio State is schizophrenic - you never know whether the "good" OSU team is going to show or the "bad" version. lol And in NBA news, Durant is now out indefinitely. That opens the door for the Unibrow (who has been left out of all the MVP talk despite having a PER that is TOTALLY off the charts) to carry the Pelicans to the playoffs. If NO makes the playoffs, Davis would get my vote. Without him, that team is a dumpster fire - a surefire lottery team. As good as Lebron is, without him the Cavs would still probably make the playoffs in a weak eastern conference.

Murray signs with the Eagles. For 21 million guaranteed.

Penny Dreadful - Season 1 It's your classic Victorian horror tale with Frankenstein, Vampires, Werewolves, and Dorian Grey thrown in as well. It's well acted and the atmosphere is incredible. Eva Green,, Josh Hartnett and Timothy Dalton are fantastic.

Just imagine how a Cleveland Browns fan feels. ROTFL

The Theory of Everything - absolutely outstanding. Eddie Redmayne is dead on as Stephen Hawking.

Not based on the on/off figures he isn't. Golden State Warriors On/Off Thompson +10.1* Green +12.6* Barnes +0.7* Bogut +7.8* Igoudala +1.6 Lee +0.1 Cleveland Cavaliers ON/Off Irving +13.0* Mozgov +13.9* (based on time with Cleveland only) Smith +4.2* (based on time with Cleveland only) Love +7.5* Shumpert +8.6 (based on time with Cleveland only) Thompson +2.2 Looks like LeBron's supporting cast is better based on that metric. Care to try again?

Absolutely! I've watched it several times and it never gets old.

LOL Obama has done jack **** to bring that about. In fact, his policies have been counter productive: To name just a few: - Under the Obama administration, the time required for a permit [for drilling on federal onshore lands and the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS)] has doubled to 307 days, while in North Dakota, where booming oil shale fracking has effectively wiped out unemployment, permitting currently takes only 10 days. - He tightened regulations against drilling [2012] - During his first term in office, the Obama administration cut by more than half the number of new permits and new leases for offshore oil and gas drilling. - In 2011, the Obama administration approved a grand total of 12 new leases. - In 2010 he instituted a moratorium on drilling in the Eastern GOM until 2022, the Pacific OCS and Northern Atlantic OCS indefinitely, the Southern Atlantic and Northern Alaskan OCS until 2012. The areas closed were estimated to contain over 13 billion barrels of oil and 41 Tcf of natural gas. Obama might be able to claim credit for a number of things but the boost in oil and gas production is NOT one of them.

It's not a perfect analogy since driver's licenses require that you demonstrate at least some minimum competency before the license is issued. Plus the license can be revoked if the owner demonstrates repeated incompetence (repeated speeding violations; points systems etc.). Afaik Maryland (and possibly California) requires a hand gun safety test/course before a license is issued. (And long gun/rifle safety courses are actually limited to Hunting safety courses required for hunting permits - no other safety course is required in any state). I think Woldan's gasoline argument is that gasoline for a car is somewhat analogous to ammunition for a gun. Unfortunately his argument now fails in California (and Connecticut) where you need a permit to buy ammunition as well: http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/355697/californias-state-senate-passes-ammunition-purchase-permit-bill-charles-c-w-cooke I don't think you understand the bill, the permit is required by the vendor. I assure you I can walk into and authorized vendor and buy personal ammo without needing anything extra. But hey, people love to bash California. There was another bill that required all vendors to take down certain information on people that they sell to, but that failed to pass. I understood the original bill just fine. It appears that the section requiring an ammunition purchase license was removed and the bill was passed without the license requirement. (California State Senate bill 53) I stand corrected. Ammunition sales are still restricted in several states: Washington D.C. generally prohibits the possession of ammunition unless the person is at a firearm safety class or possesses a registration certificate for a firearm. Four states (Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New Jersey) require a license for all ammunition purchasers or possessors and require a background check before issuance of a license. Massachusetts also requires a firearm permit or license to purchase or possess ammunition, with different types of licenses entitling the holder to purchase and possess different kinds of ammunition New York enacted a law in 2013 that will require every “commercial transfer” of ammunition, including sales by firearms dealers and other ammunition vendors to individuals, to be preceded by a background check through a statewide license and record database New Jersey generally prohibits any person from acquiring any handgun ammunition unless the transferee possesses a permit and first exhibits the permit to the seller or transferor In 2013, Connecticut enacted a law that authorizes a state agency to issue “ammunition certificates,” and prohibits the sale or transfer of ammunition unless the transferee presents a firearms purchase or carry permit or an ammunition certificate Multiple states restrict access to ammunition to the same people who are restricted from purchasing firearms. http://smartgunlaws.org/ammunition-regulation-policy-summary/ Hurlshot, I fail to see how you interpret my comment as bashing California. My comment was simply to disprove Waldon's claim that ammunition sales don't require premits/licenses.

Hemlock Grove Season 1 - The show is a classic horror mashup that's been done far better elsewhere. It's based on a mix of Ukrainian, Scandinavian and Greek myths and folklore with everything from angels, witches, werewolves, vargulfs to vampire like creatures called Upirs. Toss in reincarnation, Frankenstein's monster and a secret society dedicated to destroying all the evil baddies and that sums up the show. It's all just a clichéd mess. The plot pacing is uneven and the acting is mediocre at best. The series does pick up some steam near the end, but overall it is disappointing. I have no idea how this got a 4/5 from Netflix viewers. 3.5/10
