  1. I'm still losing my chant selected at L1 if I try to retrain my chanter. Have submitted several saves now.
  2. On my skald. I still lose my chant selected at level 1 if I retrain.
  3. Still can't respec my PC chanter without losing my chant selected at L1.
  4. I'm sorry that is still happening for you @Awkward Davies, would you mind sending us a save file that we could reproduce the issue from? We think our fix may not be working for older saves, so any saves we can get would help us find out why. Saves are big, so we'd recommend either using a dropbox/google drive link or sending it to us at bugs@obsidian.net @David Benefield, are you saying I would have to start a completely new game to avoid the problem? I have tried respecing after updating to latest beta and still have the same issue. Do you need a save from before a broken respec or after? Where do I find save files for a Steam installation of Deadfire? We may be able to make a fix for old saves, but we'd need to better understand what is broken for those saves. Ideally we need a save just before the respec occurs so that we can cause the issue to happen on our end and trace what it does wrong. See below for notes on where the save game files are stored, and thank you for your help!! Savegames Windows Location: %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Pillars of Eternity II MACOS: ~/Library/Application Support/ Pillars of Eternity II Linux: $XDG_Data_Home/PillarsofEternityII Thanks. I submitted what I think was my most recent test of the problem. To be clear, I wouldn't really expect it to be fixed in an old save, but I am still seeing this happen with a character without issues that I try to respec in latest Beta build. The only thing I haven't tried is starting with a new character using the Beta.
  5. All changes for the early June patch should be in the beta branch now. However I know there is more that the team wants to change, so do expect more in future patches. Seriously? No fix for inability respec my chanter without losing the chant selected on character creation? 7. Weapon styles are neither balanced, nor adhere to any internal logical framework. (How does having an axe in the off hand make make the axe in my primary hand recover faster than someone wielding only an axe in the primary hand?)
  8. Respeccing chanter still leads to loss of level 1 chant selected on character creation.
  9. auto-attack: defend position - attack enemy in range of current position, but don't move to attack.
  10. Respecs are broken: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/97630-respec-losing-abilities-and-buffs-from-respecretrain/
  11. As a L2 skald, it seemed I lost an ability point when I retrained at the Port Maje Tavern. But here's the thing: I never selected the ability I lost. It appeared to be an extra. At level 2, I had (originally) 1x chant (soft winds) and 2x invocations. But at some point unnoticed I gained a L1 chant (the piercing / slashing reduction one). If I level up to 3, this chant does not show as having been selected on the chart, and I can even select it again if I want to "waste" an ability point (that I shouldn't have). (Now, was I supposed to have 4 ability points already at level 2? If so, then there was a bug with character creation or the L1 to L2 level up.) So of course I started loading earlier saves to try and figure out where this came from. And here is where things got really weird: this level 1 chant can be changed in earlier saves (by selecting another chant, which seems to overwrite the extra one) and it affected my later saves. That's right, going back to an earlier save, leveling up and making different decisions was causing changes to appear in later saves, but only for the extra chant. Then I restarted the game and reloaded the same save, and the extra chant is gone from there, and from all other saves. EDIT: no wait. Even with the extra gone, I am still losing an ability point if I retrain my character. Going from 3 abilities down to 2 at L2. Reloaded my earliest save and I had 2 ability points at L1 and gained 1 at L2. Sucks, because I really want to replace an invocation with a chant. So it seems I was simultaneously experiencing a widespread bug with losing an ability point on retrain, and a very strange bug related to that particular session that was propagating across save games.
  12. Seems it was an issue with Steam poorly communicating what it was up to. Worked after an hour or so.
  13. In-progress review from Rock-Paper-Shotgun. Not glowing, but not all bad. POE1 the superior game in their opinion (but they often tend to be a collection of differing opinions, almost like real people or something).
  14. Something with the various free DLCs seems to have gone wrong. Deadfire was preloaded, but now shows 99%, but if I go to download status, no data is being transferred. Just seems to be stuck at 99%, so no way to play the game. Do I disable all the free DLC bits?
