Best Star Wars Game (other than KotOR)
The Yeti of 66 replied to Nihilus5078's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Rogue Squadron. I played TIE fighter and X-Wing, but they didn't grab me the same way as the original Rogue Squadron. I put more hours into that game than any of my other N64 games. -
Like it? Even if it is the greatest massively multiplayer game ever made with a superb narrative, it's still a pay to play MMO. The prices they charge don't break the bank, but they aren't what RPG gamers (or any single player gamers really) are used to. I pick up a game and play it, maybe play it another time right after, then put it away for a while. Maybe I pick it up again a few months or a year later, maybe longer. However with a game that has a subscription, I have a monetary obligation to keep playing. I hate that, that's why when it comes to MMOs, I play Guild Wars. It may not be the best, but I can come back to it whenever I want without wasting money. Plus with an emphasis on story, there is nothing that kills immersion worse than interacting with people online. You're totally right on TOR failing thing though... the only chance that we have of K3 is if this game has moderate success. Not stellar success though... because then they will just restrict their content to this alone. EDIT: To the poster above me: How are they neglecting Obsidian's storyline? The mysterious Sith threat that was presented by Kotor 2 is the Sith Empire in TOR.

No great revelation. No great secret.

Are you sure? I remember both of those quotes clearly from the vanilla game. -
It was longer than two days... If I remember correctly they said if they had another few months they still might not have been able to implement everything that was cut. And you could finish those problems on day one all you wanted Marcus, they popped up later in production. Fixes caused more bugs, but this isn't a neverending cycle like you claim in an earlier post, it happens with the actual game production as well, even with the tools we don't have access to. So give'em a break friend.

Carth Onasi is alive?
The Yeti of 66 replied to Knights&Darths's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
She may have been lucky to find Tobin specifically, but don't you remember her insisting that she go to Onderon with you? That had nothing to do with shaping your development, Onderon part II was all action. She was there to send that message to Nihilus. -

How could you resist experimenting with the styles Shryke? I remember I had a high dex build that used Soresu and pretty much went through the entire endgame without being hit a single time. -
Sigh. This isn't someone stealing their work, this is someone implementing it. Your analogy of having someone modify your work is wrong, because that's not what is happening. It would be more like you writing a book, but your publisher wasn't being fully cooperative to your ideas, so you had to leave huge things out and change a lot of things. Now later a group comes around and writes in those parts that you left out. Sure, that group gets notice for it, but in the end they are only showing off your genius. Obsidian is getting their extra work thrown in for free, I don't see the problem here. I know you think the modders need a lesson in humility, but the community hyped this thing up as much or perhaps moreso than the modders did so... chill.

Well the easiest way to go about it is if you are pure LS or DS. The closer they are to your alignment, the more influence you have with them.

1. Darth Traya - She's a very odd Sith Lord, but extremely powerful. She has no grasp of military like Revan and Malak did, so her influence there might be lost. However she strung along the Exile and her former students. The only person it didn't sound like she strung along was Revan, but we didn't see as much from him as from Kreia. She's also very powerful... tough old hag. 2. Darth Nihilus - Could drain entire planets. He was basically an ascended being, he didn't even percieve the universe as a human anymore. However he can't have the top spot as a simple lie caused his demise. 3. Darth Revan - Even if Kreia's motivations were odd, Revan's were moreso. Even as if you inputted dark in the beginning... Revan was a very strange Sith. Very brilliant and very powerful, but odd motivations. Also we didn't see enough of Revan to say he was higher than Traya or Nihilus. 4. Darth Sion - His power was pathetic compared to all the major powerhouses in Kotor 2. Nihilus and Traya could have ended him if they wished it with no troubles... I'm sure the Exile could use the technique also, but even still was able to destroy him. Revan was probably also taught ways to kill Sion. He was strong, but the fact that he was so dependant on the force didn't give him a higher spot. 5. Darth Malak - He's the only one left.

Ehhh... nah, not a great idea. While you can beef up your character a lot, you still won't pack as much of a punch as a Guardian or Soldier. Later on in the game when those simple builds can get Enlightenment and such, there is no contest. In Kotor 2 dark powers are better for a consular.

I played the first about 25-30 times. Only like 2 or 3 of those were Dark... heh... I played Kotor 2 like... 4 times maybe. It just isn't as immersive. I tried picking up Kotor again, but I can't play it anymore. I can't skip the boring parts, I've seen them too many times now.

I thought the Sith were supposed to take everything to the grave with them. I don't understand why entombed Sith wouldn't destroy their holocrons. I suppose Revan was different from normal Sith, but I don't see why Revan would make ANY holocrons whatsoever. Or pretty much any of the Sith for that matter. The Jedi should be big on holocrons, not the Sith. What, were they were afraid they'd forget their own techniques?

Well Juhani is catish. You know they age faster than the rest of us.

Attack on the Ravager!
The Yeti of 66 replied to Talon Jedi Master's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yep. He wants them to build up unsuspected. -
I think you cannot have told him to stop asking who you need killed. If he doesn't like you he won't let you upgrade him.

In reality she's using a guilt trip... your party members are not evil, she is.... she even says so. That scene makes no sense. Either you kill good people and remain good, or you go ragey and attack her, an evil person... and get evil points. But remember, apathy is death!
