  1. A CRPG is a CRPG, no more and no less. Here is another example of great CRPGs that allowed greater character creation options that had a fairly focused story. Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. The best and third best CRPGs ever made.
  2. This has nothing to do with story of the game. Listen, you can have a character driven tight story while at the same time give the player a wide character creation options. How do I know this? I have played Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2. It can be done if the developers want to put forth the effort.
  3. We are focusing on Character Creation aspects, not the other parts of the game. Stay on topic, if you please. I am not asking for 20 classes, only 7, 10 at the most if you add in prestige classes. All I am asking for is real choice in making my character instead of plain vanilla force user which they all play exactly the same.
  4. I have no reason to mar my body with ink.
  5. Well, how isn't it? It is behind older games that are by far superior in character creation options. KotOR and KotOR 2 iare both a big step backwards.
  6. I don't see it as a waste. I see it as ROLE PLAYING THE CHARACTER I WANT TO ROLE PLAY WITH! Gee, what a concept.
  7. Compared to Neverwinter Nights and Morrowind, Kotor is way behind the pack.
  8. I do play PnP. Once a week. However, a game needs to progress and not be static from its predecessor.
  9. Here I thought this guy might want real character creation divesity instead of lame cosmetics.
  10. Thats another thing that irks me. Jedi are so uber to begin with that the game will be no challenge from the start.
  11. When it comes to fashion that is also role play options, not character creation. Maybe we might have more character creation options if they didn't focus so much on the lame Jedi classes. Classes at first level I would have liked being available: Soldier Scoundrel Scout Force Adept Guardian Consulor Sentinel By putting in 7 available classes, increase the multiclass capabilties, and add in more prestige classes than just LS/DS force using classes, then KotOR2 would have been a worthy sequel in the character creation/development department.
  12. When you are at max level way before the game ends, what would be the point of an expansion?
  13. well. much like the first game we seem to get to switch classes to a prestage class, which opens up 18 different ways to build the toon... I don't really see that as limiting... it's more than the first. plus, you progress longer... and get more feats and force powers to pick from... how excitly is it limited? I must be missing something. Unless you want to pick from non Jedi classes... which i don't really. (well i guess some free class feats like sneak attack and Uncanny Doudge would be nice... the rest can be bought... of scoundrels luck too. Any others?) KingSnake. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its limiting since all the force classes play the same. There is no significant difference between the guardian and a sentinel. No significant difference between a sentinel or a consular, or even a consular and guardian. As for the prestige classes, each one seems to be the same prestige class except one ios LS focus and the other DS focus. Big freaking deal. As I said, LS and DS are role play options not character creation options. I like to have seen a better and deeper character creation process than what was in KotOR 2.
  14. I count LS and DS as role play options, not a part of character creation.
  15. That is why I was hoping for more character creation options in this game than just picking 3 jedi classes. Very limiting indeed.
  16. I don't use the computer graphics to limit my character. I play the character how I envision him through his or her creation applying class, stats, and skill points. The graphic can have a paper bag over his face as far as I care.
  17. That sort of character creation is irrelevant. Pretty pictures doesn't make a character. Its the character's stats, skills, abilities, that makes a character, at the core, what he or she is. From what I have read of KotOR 2 it is very limiting.
  18. They all look like they will play the same to me, just like the Jedi classes in the first game, so I doubt it matters what Prestige Class is taken.
  19. Thats how KotOR 1 was at the end. No need for strategy because all the uber power my character had. I was hoping that KotOR2 would have fixed this but obviously it hasn't.
  20. Jennifer Hale and Mark Hamill are a must.
  21. Nah, they will re-edit the whole series to have Jar Jar being the true darlk lord of the Sith. Darth Darth Binxius.
  22. I prefer a plot twist that actually took me by surprise. So None of the Above.
  23. Agreed. That is what KotOR 2 looks like to me. Canderous and Carth! FUSION! Cartherous!
  24. I rant therefore I am.
  25. Then this will not be a proper d20 Star Wars game. d20 Star Wars only have 20 levels. Period. They don't have epic levels in Star Wars. Another rule broken in the efforts to draw in the Diablo crowd and power lamers, all compacted in a 20 hour game. Just bloody lovely.
