No. In Star Wars d20 there are no epic levels. max level is 20th, but you can start as a Jedi if the GM allows it. It all depends on what era he plans on playing through. If he decides to go through EMpire/Rebellian era he might limit the Jedi classes since it takes place after the Jedi purge, but Jedi Adept might still be allowed. At the beginning of Episode 4, Luke would have been considered a level 1 Force Adept.

You also come from a whacked out program that apparently rates a 90 as a B. Probably had more to do with marking on the curve than anything else. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There was no curve.

The things that gave KOTOR so much personality
Judge Hades replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I am not saying the game isn't good. I am just saying don't over look its obvious weaknesses, Influence. When I post things on the forums here I do so in a informal manner and let my biases reign supreme. When I do a written critique of a piece of work, may it be poetry, prose, movies, or computer games I leave my biases out of the critique. Volourn fails to understand that because he has some mental incapabilities. There is a difference in forum banter and a review critique. Volourn doesn't understand that. Also Volourn, you are very much like me, but on the other side of the coin. You are the scratched up side while I am the pristine side so deal with it. BWAAAHAAAAHAAAAAA! -
Volourn, they did a crappy job of the rules implementation. That is why it scored a 90 and not a 95 or 100%. I gave the game a B+. Putting it that way, Influence, you do have a point but the Guardian has other abilities that balances it out from the force powers. One being getting a new feat every other level. Also just because there is a ton of new force powers doesn't mean your character can get every single one of them, or should he be allowed to. This offers greater replayability, which KotOR 1 lacked.

The game was made for the causual gamer and console junkie, so I reviewed it as a casual gamer and console junkie, and left my personal biases out. Then again that is such an alien concept to you that someone can actually do that Volourn you will say that is just a bunch of bullshat. You just don't have the cranial power to understand that when a game is reviewed, at least when I do so, I review it as objectively as possible while maintaining the mindset of the game's target audience. Again, that concept is too hard for you to understand so I don't even why I bother to explain it to you. Oh well. -
Oh, yes, make thje classes even more munchkin. Yeah, munchkin powerlaming is the way to go.

Jade Empire vs. The Sith Lords
Judge Hades replied to Nur Ab Sal's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Um, because he lives in the US and the US X-Box version comes out in December. The international version comes out at the same time as the PC. -
Already it sounds pretty stupid.

Which is why I won't be getting the game. People like you will be putting spoilers all over and nothing is worse than a spoiled game. -
Thing is we need a balance between KotOR style and Morrowind. That is why games like BG1 and Fallout are superior to both.

I didn't say it was a bad plot twist, it just could have used a lot less foreshadowing. They practically shoved it down your throat that you are Revan by the time you left Dantooine. One or two references are okay, but a dozen or so is a bit much. -
No, they did a crappy job. They know that the d20 System doesn't work but they were to lazy to come up with an original system which would have worked better.
-
I see where you are coming from, but you are wrong. Volourn, the big whigs in charge don't care about integrity. All they care about is the money so your point is moot.

The only thing I want Peter Jackson make in DnD is a Dragonlance movie with John Rhys-Davies as Flint. This DnD movie is crap and needs to be put down.

The things that gave KOTOR so much personality
Judge Hades replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Didn't you read my post? 1) Over use of foreshadow that ruined the plot twist. I get that I am Revan already! 2) Sucky Party system that negates any use of strategic combat. I set one character for an ambush, then go to the next character, and the first character runs off and attacks. Just plain stupid. 3) Poor implementation of the d20 Star Wars rules system. The game balance was all out of whack. 4) The game was far too easy and short, even at the higher difficulty values. -

KotOR was a good cinematic CRPG, and a good game for softcore/casual CRPGers. It hardly brings back any faith in games becoming good again on my end. The rules system implementation was atrocious, the over use of foreshadow ruined the plot twist, and the party system sucked because tehre was no way to do any sort of strategic combat even though it wasn't necessary due to how easy the game was. KotOR was a decent game, but lets not forget its major flaws. -
If you are going to use an established rules system, use it, otherwise come up something original. Don't be lazy. That is what I am saying.

We don't play Basketball. We are gamers. One of my friends and I frisbee golfed and yes, we adhere to the rules. When we play games we play by the rules. The difference between home game and the computer is that Bioware and Obsidian are trying to spout this off as official game product while at home iwe are not. If we were going to form our own NBA team and make our game official, then yes we need to adhere to the rules.

I found him funny at times, but not all the time. He will be missed no doubt.
-
I would be happiest if they didn't use d20 System at all. Since they did it needs to adhere to the rules. My mother told me if you are going to do something, do it right. If not, don't do it at all.
-
Dear gods, no! Man, didn't they mar the good name of Dungeons and Dragons with the first crapfested outing?

If you want to take a look at the d20 SYstem go to www.wizards.com. You can download the fantasy d20 System SRD and the modern d20 System SRD for free. Also if you want to learn more about the non-baseline systems head to www.enworld.org. If they went full d20 Star Wars with this game, nearly all the balancing issues in the game would be fixed.
