I'm still surprised I'm the only one who's apathetic to the idea of being aborted now.

The prospect of becoming a person, under any condition whatsoever, does not change the fact that a zygote is indeed not a person.

Except we don't. Humans don't need paper to survive. I won't argue against wood for building materials, because that's just so convenient. Humans also don't need meat to survive, we can survive healthy and efficiently off fruits and vegetables. And do another thing you posted, why is the criteria the ability to develop into a whole organism while nurtured in the womb? Why not the criteria be the ability to develop outside of the womb? At least the latter is more recognizable as an organism.

Cloning? :-" Actually... this.

On one hand, a fetus lacks intelligence, a recognizable consciousness, and is utterly physically dependent upon the mother to a degree that it can't survive under any circumstance after being removed up to a certain period of development. A zygote is no more a person than a piece skin. On the other hand, I don't know that I hold life even that sacred. It's just a good idea for social development to encourage that idea. So, who cares, kill 'em all!

You might like Black Lagoon. I just have a hunch about it. You might have problems with the theme presented at the end of the Second Barrage. I've heard a lot of positive about Black Lagoon aswell. Care for a summary? The basic idea is that a small mercenary corporation (3 people small), with a torpedo boat, named Black Lagoon are hired to kidnap a Japanese businessman. When the company the businessman works for hangs him out to dry, the businessman ends up becoming the 4th member of Black Lagoon. The series is about their various jobs. There's no overarching story, but a few stories do go into multiple episodes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Lagoon * Revy provides the muscle for the Black Lagoon. She's good with guns, but not with people. * Rock is a Japanese salaryman who joins the crew of the Black Lagoon after they kidnap him. Rock doesn't fight but is an excellent negotiator and translator. * Dutch is the leader of the Lagoon "trading company". He captains the PT boat Black Lagoon, and coordinates his crew. * Benny is an electronics genius. He serves as the Lagoon's technical expert.

This certainly deserves its attention. Animation quality is superb (as it should be in year 2006) and this anime has joined the fight between Azumanga and Excel Saga for title of funniest anime again. I recommend. My only complaint is music is only averege, generic soda pop. This good anime would've deserved much better. Ending theme is quite catchy though Watched this. Absolutely awesome stuff. I just got done with Black Lagoon and Ergo Proxy. Both are series I would recommend. Ergo Proxy is beginning a domestic DVD release. Black Lagoon will be seeing domestic DVD release in April. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya sounds like it's currently undergoing dubbing, so release is not too far away.

Half-Life = Best Game Ever Right after FF VI, FF VII, FF Tactics, Suikoden II, and maybe even Suikoden V. And the first Soul Reaver game was awesome, too. Baldur's Gate II fits in here somewhere.

Awesome! Seen the machinima, never got to play the game. That truly was a happier time for him. So sad.

NPCs can still craft.

Battlestar Movie and MMORPG in the Works?
Tale replied to metadigital's topic in Computer and Console
I can't imagine a Doctor Who RPG of any form. I'm trying very hard. -
Suikoden V Liking it so much more than Final Fantasy XII. I have no complaints about FF XII, it's just boooring me now. And grinding in a single player game is not something I am a fan of.

Maybe they're planning for a TMORPG (Tiny Multiplayer Online RPG)? :ermm:" The highlighted part might be valid if any of the current MMOs had millions of users on the same realm. However, they split them up. The current top MMO splits it's -7 million total subscriber base over 180 realms. That's only about 39,000 per realm, below the 41,422 number cited. That's also assuming that they all are logged on at the same time. -

Not our own? Another patron's perhaps? -
You have just become my favourite member of this forum. Why? Because of this glorious post. Every word of it. *Activates anti-noob lightsaber* Go on. I dare someone to say Uwe Boll's name in this forum again. Hang on....oh..crap. I just said it. Well, goodbye everyone. *Takes a leaf out of Visas book* Visas is not Emo. She is Goth......... There is nothing with Goths. The problems with Emo, They like Music from HIM and other emo bands. Where Goths favor Cradle of Filth. He that shouldn'd be name is an idiot. It's all the same, they're ultra-postmodern hippies.

Is he allowed to increase his bet AFTER he reaches 21? That seems kind of fishy. -
I vow to take at least 1 thing seriously this year. Honest. And to lie less. Maybe.

Previsualization. In context, not entirely sure. Says to me that this is a visualization of what they'd like to do, or be able to do, before they do it. Kind of like another way of saying a concept video. More info: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/721/721178p1.html "The video is a pre-rendered pre-visualization of what we're targeting in terms of gameplay, the degree of interaction with the environment, and character reactions."
-
Or maybe it's a pre-vis.

An MMORPG instance is a dungeon crawl for loot and experience. A single-player not-the-chosen-one plot is just like every other single player game just without the implications that the main character was fated to the experience (fated or somehow singly capable of the experience due to no accomplishment of his own, but that of coincidence or again, fate).

Are they dead if you take their head? Regardless of the answer to that, the distinction between defeating a respawning villain and a non-respawning villain does not make your argument from my perspective.
-
You can fully kill and stop characters, people do it all the time. They just respawn. Except for in SWG. There you can't kill major characters because they didn't want to do that kind of suspension of disbelief.
