I can't honestly be fair to Bethesda about it, though. It is just so ridiculously frustrating for me at times. I can give them one bit of benefit of the doubt, that maybe I'm either relatively unique in my frustration with that minigame or that I'm underrepresented in their QA tests. After playing through Valve's games with commentary I see all the little changes they [speaking of Valve, not Bethesda, in this sentence, I'm not confused] make due to playtesting for even sometimes subtle or slight effects. If Bethesda had any playtesters who got as frustrated with it like I did (which I don't know that they do, again I could be unique or just underrepresented), I can't think of an excuse for them to not just completely pull that minigame and replace it with Morrowind's just for simplicity. But, I think this is off-topic. Minigames can have a place Oblivion's crappy minigames do not change that. Overall I'm hopeful about Fallout 3. Even if it were to be Oblivion with guns, I might have actually enjoyed Oblivion had it guns.

I totally agree. I would go a step further and say that all minigame elements need to feel like they fit together and with the game as a whole. As I wrote before, I think Oblivion's lockpicking worked better in this regard than Oblivion's persuasion minigame. I thought the Skeleton key pretty much broke the lockpicking game. At least any difficulty from the minigame itself and any use for the skill. Which when judging it by hot it fits in the world, would give persuasion a one-up. I'd also like to add a c) to CrashGirl's post. c) are fun (or at least are not frustrating). Oblivion's weren't fun for me, they were frustrating. Unlike CrashGirl I would occsionally lose 5 lockpicks to supposedly easy locks. And it only got worse from there. By comparison, neither Theif: Deadly Shadows or Splinter Cell (any) caused any frustration, but they served a good purpose in taking up time during which a patrol could spot you.

Sometimes, I'm walking through water and I give my minions an order to get something on land. However, they attempt to take the same route I did and try to walk through the water. This generally results in a large part of my horde drowning. I've never had them do that. Unless I try to sweep them, they won't go into water. I'm mainly talking about giant slugs and flamethrowers. Flamethrowers can kill your entire horde while being attacked. Though I might have an idea on how to properly deal with them.

Which is my point exactly. The game was created for console and ported to PC. But even if it is to be expected, it is a drawback of the game (for the PC user). It's also a good thing that they allow for key customization (although to what degree I can't say since I haven't played with those options. Playing on a friends computer). And as I said, it is the best keyboard/mouse adaption I've seen. I wouldn't say it's a drawback for PC users. SOME PC users, maybe. There's not a lot of reason to not have a gamepad. I only recently got mine, but I've got friends who've been using gamepads for years. That's a benefit of the PC in that we can do both. I can understand not having one. They're not free and not every game uses them. Heck, three of the primary PC genres are undeniably better off with the keyboard and mouse (MMO, RTS, FPS).

I honestly don't see how the controls really could be "optimized for the PC." The game was designed around two analog sticks and there's no way to port that over to keyboard and mouse. But, thankfully all PC gamers can use gamepads and it's configureable for those.

And your "nearly all aspects" statement is arbitrary. You draw the line of "what you want your character to do" using nebulous criteria. Why draw the line at individual attacks? Why not pull it back to a lump "assault" roll for the round? After all, we already know that you want to kill a target, right? Why does the player need to be involved in determining how you do it? Heck, shouldn't your character also be able to determine the appropriate targets to attack? And why don't we get rid of dialogue options? That minigame allows too much of the player's skill to seep in, allowing him or her to "game the system". Managing inventory? Minigame. Man, have any of you guys enjoyed playing a rogue/thief character in any RPG? I mean, for doing roguey/thiefy things, not just backstabbing/sneak attacking guys? They are the most boring class in the world when they are played like their tabletop equivalents. Shockingly, I actually enjoyed playing a thiefy character in Oblivion because at least hiding and lockpicking had something more to them then mashing a button and letting random numbers generate until I failed a task. I enjoy my utility rogues. He runs around stealing the groups treasure, then backstabs the party leader at a critical moment so that the rest of the group dies and I get all the riches to myself! Isn't that what it's all about? Lockpicking a bunch of inane doors for no reason at all, however interesting the lockpicking is, is as boring as an empty soup can without any string. Having the lockpicking serve a purpose, that's where the fun can come in. In Oblivion, there's two quests lines where lockpicking can be important and have a purpose. Outside of that, it's pretty much crap. And heck, I thought the system in Oblivion was frustrating and far from fun. Then you get the Skeleton key and it stops being frustrating, but still doesn't bother trying to be fun.

I very much enjoy the game. Some parts of it seem poorly designed. I can't count the number of times my entire horde gets slaughtered for reasons beyond my ability to understand or compensate for. However, other than that it's very fun. I hear complaints about controls, but they are typical for many games as far as I remember. Just hit the targetting button and voila, camera is back behind the overlord. The humor in it is very well done, it won't have you rolling on the floor, writhing in side splitting agony, but it will keep a good smile on your face throughout.

What would you do if you became a sith lord.

I'd hire a bunch of dancing girls for my private entertainment. I'd also open two restaraunts. One specializing in healthy food, the other a habachi grill. I'd pay for all of this with criminal enterprises. -
I crafted a full arcanium set in Overlord yesterday. I also sacrificed over 200 greens to increase my regeneration. I think I'll sacrifice the rest to increase my horde size then make a run through from the beginning area to get my horde back. Then I might sacrifice them again.

He'd be a nice minion. Still don't know which to buy. Since they're both available DD though it's no rush.

I'm dying to replay Blood Money. I'll probably buy the pack when I do that. But FOR NOW, I must finish Overlord and Chrono Trigger! Dag nabbit.
-
I really enjoy Blood Money and the main thing that inspired this was the temptation to buy a second copy for my Steam account.

codename 47 is only for pc and not included in the trilogy even for pc it is very difficult to find but silent assassin could be found at a pawn shop or a game stop and silent assassin is in the trilogy http://steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=p...d=283&cc=US I know about the Trilogy. But, I'm not interested in buying Trilogy. It would be a tradein of codename 47 for contracts. I don't remember hearing anything great about contracts.

Since I just got paid, I'm trying to figure out if I should get Hitman Collection off Steam (already have Blood Money, but not Codename 47 and Silent Assassin) or if I should get Sherlock Holmes the Awakened. Same price for either, but I already have the most recent of the 3 Hitman games included and I hear The Awakened is pretty short.

You're just spouting rhetoric. I defy you to cite specific parts of the Constitution (as it exists today, amended) along with how they specifically are not suitable for a country of this size. To support this argument you'll need genuine examples that are more than single anecdotes. I present you with this challenge because I sincerely doubt you have any clue what you're talking about. If you prove me wrong, it'll be egg on my face.

I think one of the big reasons for that difference is that it is 1300 miles to the seat of Federal power from where I am now. Imagine someone in London, England being ruled from Napoli, Italy.

The morning went by incredibly quickly. This afternoon isn't going by quite so fast. Typing in all these bloody credit card reciepts is taking a toll on my wrists and arms. SPEND LESS, YOU WANKERS!
