  1. Still loving Dragon's Dogma. Hit max in Mage and Sorcerer, so doing Mystic Knight. And wow am I feeling overpowered. Do about the same single target damage with no charging up. And take almost no damage.
  2. They're pretty sparsely used. But people will pop in from time to time.
  3. There's been no information or indication of a Knights of the Old Republic 3 to my knowledge.
  4. Enjoying Dragon's Dogma still. Had a moment where I was trying out crafting. Created a scroll for a spell. Thought "hey, do I learn this when I use it or what?" Next thing I know, the innkeeper is on fire and fleeing the area. Lost about an hour reloading that save. And wasn't too bothered by it.
  5. They had planned to keep everyone. This restructuring is showing a change in that plan. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/134940/the_making_of_star_wars_the_old_.php
  6. There's a soft lock. For melee targets, if you're looking at someone and they're close, it'll hit. Some swings are wide enough to hit multiple enemies. You won't be circlestrafing enemies, however. For ranged, it targets whatever is near you and vaguely in the middle of your screen. Though, at least with magic, you can switch to an aimed targetting.
  7. Someone other than me liked Endgame? Unheard of!
  8. Dragon's Dogma If you're playing and in need of a Strider pawn, look for Manion (360). I'm trying to keep his skills and equipment up to date, lots of people really don't do that. I had one fighter pawn that I liked at level 4, but when I went back for higher pawns, it still had all of the same skills at level 9. I figure that most people are going to be doing warriors (for tanks) and mages (for support) as their pawns, so he might not have as much competition. Beyond that, I am enjoying it but don't think I've really put the time in to judge it. I've only done one short dungeon as it is. It's nice that it has a variety of non-combat quests. But also lots of kill # of X quests, sadly.
  9. I'm picking it up (and reviewing it, assuming my copy isn't so late in the mail that it's just pointless). I have to say, some of the negatives pointed out in the reviews strike me as a bit weird and ultimately come from different design views than mine (too difficult, no fast travel, no level scaling), but I also can already see how some problems that I noticed in the demo and streams might actually be in the final game (writing that makes Oblivion seem like a literary masterpiece, very limited variety in quests, same-y boring environments). The writing seems to be the consistent complaint. With combat being fairly consistently complimented. Even one of the guys who loves the game (I believe it's the OXM UK reviewer) can only say that "you'll never see it coming" for the ending. That's about the best he could say on that.
  10. My copy of Dragon's Dogma is already on the way. Review are mediocre mostly, but the few reviewers who put lots of time in it tended to be more positive. I'm not sure what is the cause and what is the effect in that equation.
  11. But she was 50. That made it adult.

    Refunds?

Seller or publisher. In your case, I'd try asking Gamestop. Then I'd try contacting SE if that doesn't work out, but I wouldn't be too hopeful on that. The few times I've heard of publishers doing that have been exceptions.
  13. Nier I just found out that their multiple endings are reserved for repeat playthroughs... What the bleep? You get ending A on playthrough 1. Ending B on playthrough 2. Just to mix it up, there's a choice between C and D for playthrough 3.
  14. Nier and Dragon Quest V finally arrived today. Got started on Nier. Nier starts off pretty darn slow, but the intro makes for a fascinating hook in a "I just have to see what the heck that's all about" sort of way.
  15. If it's anything like ketchup, I know the feeling.
  16. Royal guards don't act that way, either. It's a myth that might originate with Mr. Bean. However, bubbles don't match any definition of assault I've borne witness to. Cops can't really go around making laws up.
  17. I recall reading that part of the reason they got the loan is because they promised to create 400 jobs. So having that many employees might have been required. That just makes it sound doomed to fail.
  18. Now I have to hurt both of you! Making me want to buy Warlock...
  19. If Gorth tells us how much he's enjoying Warlock one more time, I may have to hurt him. Tempted to get the game, but I have two games arriving this week and am trying to save in case Dragon's Dogma is good. In the meantime, I'm trying to get back into Torchlight just to dodge all the Diablo III hype.
  20. Even if someone still had those, I'd be incredibly surprised if they had the legal right to release any of it. The Infinity Engine alone still belongs to Bioware and now EA.
  21. And with that we know your teacher has never been married. Seriously, I dont know the numbers but I would be shocked if a few thousand dollars in Power of Attorney fees came anywhere near the cost of a wedding. What does that have to do with it? A massive wedding isn't a requirement for marriage. It's mostly social. Civil unions would want them just teh same. Um, I was directly comparing the cost of a wedding to the cost of a civil union. I thought that was obvious from my post since thats the part I quoted and highlighted. Perhaps everyone can pump the brakes on this hyperbole train before the whole thread goes down the tubes? You highlighted "being married." What you quoted doesn't mention wedding at all.

  23. I tried. Diablo is actually the reason I didn't play any western RPGs until like 2002 or so. I was afraid they were all like that. I kid you not. My first response to Baldur's Gate was "ugh, looks like Diablo."
  24. That's how it goes. Hang out with someone for a while, then they get a SO and disappear. I'm not sure whether the behavior is characteristic more of the early stage of relationships or if it's just relationships for young people. But it seems there's a stage where people forget all other relationships than the ones involving sex. Then they eventually get over it. This may take a long time.
  25. Trying to hit some of my older backlog. First up was P.N.03. Now I remember why I didn't play it much. Not a very engaging game. I'll just scratch that one off. Next up Killer 7.
