  1. I think it has been said that they are either the same or really close to those of KotOR.
  2. One thing I hate in any game is getting paralyzed, so some of those insanity causing Dark Jedi could be frustrating. I never really wanted to kill Vrook, but I did wish I could have gotten into a fight with Gorton Colu. Bastilla and Carth were always telling me that the guy could cause trouble, but even when I had both Mission and Zaalbar in my party, I couldn't cause anything to occur. Annoying.
  3. As some people have stated, the conversation with Admiral Dodonna was one of the funniest evil moments, especially depending on the face you chose for your character. I chose the bald guy with the gotee for my DS character, and the expressions he got on his face during that conversation were hilarious. One of the most truely evil moments is making Zaalbar kill Mission. That was quite twisted.
  4. I must say, that site is quite amusing. I started reading a bit on the main page, and I didn't know if I should laugh, cry, or choke. On a slightly different note, it's really hard to compare different Sith Lords or Jedi. Especially when you throw in skills that aren't sith/jedi specific. For example, Anakan/Vader was a super skilled pilot, but how much should that count for? Revan was a tactical and strategic genius, but how much is that worth? If the question is "Who would win in a fight?", then both those things are useless. But if it is "Who could rule the galaxy the best?", or a simple "Who is the most 'powerful'?", it's not very clear. In addition, it really hard to compare the fighting skills of characters from different mediums or eras. We know Darth Maul was a very skilled fighter, considering how he handled Obi Wan and Qui Gon. But is he better than Darth Vader/Anakan at his prime? Which is superior: Revan's ability to stand up to hordes of blaster hits and instantly heal his wounds with a pile of medpacs, or Luke's ability to simply have 99% of all blaster shots aimed at him miss him by a mile?
  5. I heard that certain parts of KotOR II, such as the music, is being done directly by LucasArts. Do you know if/how the recent restructuring and layoffs at LucasArts affects any of the people working on KotOR II? I understand if you can't really answer this question.
  6. A news article just appeared at Gamespot mentioning massive restructuring going on at LucasArts. Of particular interest is this little paragraph at the bottom of the news item: "On the project front, an informed industry source said the team attached to the early stages of development on Knights of the Old Republic 3 was let go in yesterday's layoff." Link to the news article I'm sure they'll assign new people to the project soon, but I suppose this could result in a later release date for KotOR 3. Not that I am too concerned about KotOR 3 right now, but it's interesting. On a more important note, is there any chance this could affect KotOR 2? I know Obsidian is not part of LucasArts and therefor not affected by the layoffs, but I understand that some parts of the game, such as the music, are being done in house by LucasArts, not Obsidian.
  7. Qel Droma was a family. it was one of the Qel Dromas in the Great Hunt that the robes were from B) Ulic Qel-Droma's cousin. I believe his name was Duron.
  8. I just got an interesting idea on how to include Revan. What if they made him a playable non-party member, one you control seperately from you PC during a few periods of the game? What I mean is this. Let's say, for example, you encounter a data-pad with info about Revan's recent actions/location, a journal of sorts by either Revan or someone with Revan. Instead of having you simply read the data-pad to find out info about Revan, the game switches to modified character creation screen where you choose Revan's face and class, etc.(Some choices about Revan, such as gender, will have already been made by the questions you answered at the beggining of the game.) You then control Revan for a short while. Revan would start off with high exp, but he/she wouldn't be leveled up yet, so you could decide exactly how you wanted him/her to be. Since you control Revan during this period, you decide how he/she acts and what choices he/she makes in conversation. There wouldn't be any problem with people saying, "My Revan used dual lightsabers, not a single one" or "My Revan would never say that", because you could make Revan exactly how you wanted him/her. After this period of the game was done, you'ld switch back to your main character. At various other times during the game you'ld encounter people Revan traveled with for a while or other clues to his/her actions, and the game would let you control Revan for a little while, before going back to your PC. This wouldn't happen too often, as Revan isn't the main character of KotOR:II, so you shouldn't be playing as him/her ALL the time. Rather this would be similar to a long and well developed side-quest of sorts; while trying to stop the Sith Lords, you'ld also be trying to find out the fate of Revan. What do people think about this idea?
  9. I've only played the PC version, but I liked the controls a lot. I've never played the Xbox version, though, so I don't really know which has better controls. How powerful of a PC do you have? Because you might be able to get better graphics on the PC. Not sure how much you care about that, though.
  10. Actually, it's not as far as you think. The Republic was pretty much on it's last legs in KotOR, and tons of Jedi had died or joined the Sith. And not too mention the fact that even more Jedi died on the Star Forge at the end. Revan may have defeated Malak, but the Republic and the Jedi are both still mangled. Heck, the Republic and the Jedi still hadn't recovered from the war with Exur Kun, so I imagine after the Mandalorian Wars and the war with Revan and Malak, they must be in really bad shape. The real departure, I believe, would be from the Dark ending. The impression I got from the DS ending is that the Republic was shattered, and that it shouldn't be on it's last legs after 5 years: it should be dead. Maybe that's just the impression i got.
  11. As for how your character could know whether Bastilla is still alive or not, keep in mind, Bastilla is a very important Jedi. At the time of KotOR, Bastilla was the only Jedi living with any skill at Battle Meditation. Her skill with it was the only reason the Republic hadn't already lost. So after the LS ending, I'm sure her fate would be well known.
  12. What about the fact that Bastilla doesn't have to survive the first game? I'm not sure what choices we can make at the beggining of KotOR:II, but I do know that a dev said that some of those choices would decide whether certain characters would return. So it seems decently likely that we will be able to choose whether or not Bastilla lived through the first game, and if so, it would be hard to use Bastilla as one of the main Sith Lords. A minor character, maybe even a possible party member, but nothing essential to the story. Of coarse, Obsidian has yet to give any specifics about what we can determine at the start of KotOR:II, so it's possible they may decide to assume Bastilla survived the first game.
  13. If you read the file on Bastilla, it mentions Darth Revan and Darth Malak. My guess is that the only reason they don't have files on Revan and Malak is because of what Jebus said. Though I think they could at least add a file for Malak, and simply leave the ending off like they did with Bastilla. Revan would be hard, because it would seem a bit unatural for them to never refer to Revan with a pronoun. Anyways, Revan is part of the cannon, even if there are few official details about him/her. So Revan is apparently the first to use the title Darth. Which is no problem, in my opinion, after all, someone has to be first. So why not Revan.
  14. That would be far worse than choosing a weird appearence and voice for Revan, in my opinion. I mean, if you played KotOR as light side and had Revan redeem him/herself, it would be very annoying for Obsidian to say, "Sorry, Revan fell again." Talk about destroying some people's idea of what Revan was like. One interesting thing. From what I understand, Revan often wore that mask even before people had realized he was on the Dark Path. Yet none of the Jedi following him seemed to be concerned about it. Perhaps there could be some story behind that mask, some reason why even a light side Revan might wear it.
  15. Will I be able to see what cards I have in my Pazaak deck without having to start a game first? It was a bit annoying in KotOR when I won that guy's Pazaak cards at the Jedi Acadamy, and then had to run around looking for someone to play Pazaak with just to find out what cards I got.
  16. Turned out to be one of the two main ideas I've heard talked about, the other being Rise of the Empire. CNN news item I think Revenge of the Sith is a good title. Definately better than Attack of the Clones.
  17. Hmm... well, just recently I decided to try and take out the full grown rancer without using using the synthesized oder. Actuall, ity wasn't too difficult, as I was able to pelt it with grenades and then flee through the doorway that was too small for the rancer to go through. The rancer would then run back to the far end of the room, so I'd come out and throw more grenades, then flee back through the doorway again. Soon, the rancer fell to my might.
  18. On Korriban, after that Sith student kills the rodian, I will often hear the rodian's scream when I walk through that area at later times.
  19. Will there be left handed characters, and can the player character be left handed? Edit: Oh, one more thing I just thought of. If HK-47 is in the game, could you have him rip the arms off someone after losing in Pazaak or some other game? I don't know why, but suddenly C-3PO and Han's comments from the original movie came to my mind, along with the idea that it would be ironic if a droid did indeed rip someone's arms off when he lost. Sorry, it just came to my mind. Uh, anyways, about left handed characters...
  20. That is his left arm. Getting your arm/hand in the position his is in is quite simple, actually. Take a ruler or pen or something, and stick it in your left hand. Strech out your left arm, pointing the "lightsaber" upward. Rotate your arm so that the "lightsaber" is pointing down. Look over your left shoulder, imagining a charging jedi is striking your lightsaber. The reason everything looks so weird is because that guy isn't facing her. She's actually attacking him from his left side. (Edit) Oh, and I assume the poster of this thread meant Bastilla, not Revan, right?
  21. A KotNR game could be cool, but a problem I might see with it would be making it enjoyable and accessible for someone with little or no knowledge of the EU. For example, before KotOR, the only Star Wars stuff I knew outside of the movies were the old X-Wing game and the Pod Racing game. I had no idea Exur Kun existed outside of KotOR until I came to this forum. But I enjoyed KotOR's story a lot, because everything I really needed to know was explained in KotOR. But from what I've heard, there seems to be so much stuff that occurs after the movies, that a KotNR game could be very confusing or overwealming to a player--"Papaltine living on through clones? Yuuzahn Vong? Luke's married to some Mara person? What the heck?"
  22. Yes, you can actually get Uthar or Yuthora to believe that you are Revan, so if you side with Uthar from the begining, you can get him to bow to you and pledge his loyality. That's fun to do, but if you kill them both and return to the academy, assuming you already know you are Revan, you have a persuade option that goes something like "I am Darth Revan, I am the master now". Unfortunately, it seems to never work. I had insanely high charisma and persuade the last time I played the game, and it still failed.
  23. The Rodian homeworld!!
