Starcraft 2 on the brink of announcement?
Aram replied to Big Bottom's topic in Computer and Console
I thought it was going to be both, ie a hybrid controlled by Xels. -
You should shave that thing off before the kid spits up and or pees in it. Trust me, he will.

Looking back at some previous posts, this looked pertinent. http://www.nwherald.com/articles/2007/04/2...d7798473383.txt -

Starcraft 2 will probably be produced by Bethesda in a couple of years. -
Also take into account how many are routinely and frustratingly killed by werewolves.

Not everyone a vampire bites becomes a vampire or even dies. Everybody knows that. Although sometimes your level gets drained and you have to rememorize all your highest level spells.

I watched a lab rabbit give birth and then I wired up a webcam so I can watch several others do the same while I'm not actually there to witness it. If anyone wants a hook up to a 24 hour bored white rabbit channel, let me know. I also shot the **** out of a mound of dirt with a full-auto BAR. Strange day, I know.

I know the choppy wierd animation in the Last Express kind of disqualifies it, but there were some pretty memorable cinematic moments all over that game.

It's a double entendre.

That sounds delicious. Mmmmm... fat chunks... I think they serve those at McDonalds.

That's a good point. Just quoting some period stuff. I couldn't tell you if it was popular. Universal Soldier by Donovan is another obvious one.

Creedance Clearwater made the penultimate Vietnam song, Fortunate Son. Besides the ones already mentioned, just off the top of my head there's also... The Rolling Stones (Satisfaction, etc) The Kinks (You really got me, Waterloo sunset) The Guess Who (Shakin' all over) The Youngbloods (Get Together) The Lovin' Spoonful (Do You Believe in Magic, Summer in the City) The Band (The Weight) The Byrds (Mr Tambourine man, Wasn't Born to Follow) The Stooges (I wanna be your dog) Buffalo Springfield (For what its worth) Martha and the Vandellas (No where to run) Jefferson Airplane (somebody to love, white rabbit) Joe ****er (a little help from my friends) The Moody Blues (Nights in White Satin) Canned Heat (On the Road Again) Johnny Cash (Wanted Man) Crosby Stills and Nash (Suite Judy Blue Eyes) Simon & Garfunkel (Sound of Silence) Steppenwolf (Magic Carpet Ride, Born to be wild) Steve Miller Band (Space Cowboy) The Velvet Underground (I'm waiting for the man, Heroin) Jethro Tull (Aqualung) The Bobby Fuller Four (I fought the law). If that's not enough to to keep you busy, there's still a lot more. It was a pretty big time for music.

No reason we couldn't use midgets though.

Good point! The trenches also wouldn't have to be dug as deep.

If hoarding massive amounts of deadly weapons is wrong, then I don't want to be right. -

The fact is, if 2nd amendment or even the American constitution had never been written, Americans would still believe in the right to bear arms. Arms are a part of American culture, and we'd no sooner lose that right than we would any other. Citing the second ammendment to defend gun ownership shouldn't even be necessary, just as we should not have to cite the first ammendment when we want to speak our minds. It's simply a guarenteed human right, and it should and will not be surrendered without a fight. -
I think any English professor would tell you to never begin sentences that way.

Now that's a duo I'd like to see take on the Cthulhu mythos. I actually think Max makes a joke about summoning a shoggoth in one of the episodes. Guess I'll just have to make due with the Ghostbusters vs. Cthulhu. (Trust me it's not that bad) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXX_HrgX0LQ

The whole plot of the game is that someone is trying to summon Cthulhu, and it's up to Sherlock to stop him. Surprise, he does, and I couldn't figure out any way to fail so I'd get to see him. But it's not that there's no Elder Gods in the game, or even no minions. There's just no real proof that anything supernatural is really taking place. Watson has some strange dreams and Sherlock reacts strangely to reading the Necronomicon, but that's pretty much it. It's implied that there's a hunter in the game that killed what may have been a Deep One, but you only see a painting of it, not the beast itself or even the remains of one. The most dangerous thing you face is a crazed negro (lol the game says it not me), or a cultist with a gun. Tell me one Lovecraft story set in the mythos, where some kind of supernatural mythos creature wasn't even involved. By the end of the game, the two Limeys are left not even knowing if it was all a farce. "Gee, do you think any of it was real, Holmes?" "Who knows, Watson. Now go get in the hot tub."

Well, I wrapped that one up pretty quickly. The Sherlock Holmes aspect of the story was handled pretty well. At several times, you really do investigate and gather clues like Sherlock would, and the interaction between him and Watson worked well. Sherlock came off as a kind of a ****, though. The Cthulhu aspect of the game was not quite so good. There isn't actually anything supernatural in the game. There's a lot of creepy moments, a decent amount of gore at times, and a stealth mission in an insane asylumn, but in the way of actual mythos content, we only get references and people talking about it. Sherlock finds several Cthulhu statues, elder signs, some insane cultists, and goes temporarily insane after reading the Necronomicon, but that's it. You don't get to see Cthulhu or even so much as a shoggoth. The puzzles were decent, and the graphics weren't bad. You walk around a rather bland environment in 1st person shooter mode only there's no shooting, clicking on hotspots with a hand that appears if you're looking at one. Watson has a really awkward way of following you around (you'll understand if you play it). There's also a lot of tedium caused by the fact that you often can't do things or pick things up unless you've done something else first--a lot of items, for example, you can find and know that you'll eventually need, but you can't get them until you actually need them, so you basically backtrack constantly back to places you've already been to get things you could have easily gotten before. That was my biggest annoyance. As an adventure game, to be honest, it was pretty mediocre compared to the real classics, but if you're jonesing for an adventure game, you'll probably like it. You clearly like the new Sam & Max games, so yeah I'd recommend it.

Grim Fandango had some fairly awesome cutscenes. All of the "One Year Later" scenes were particularly cool.

I just got some new adventure game that's Sherlock Holmes vs. Cthulhu mythos. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I believe that guy has made comments about being a shooter and hunter before. He knew what it was and pretty much owned her. He also says at the end pretty hillariously "No, it's not..." A barrel shroud is a hollow, perforated plastic or metal sheath ensconsing part of a gun barrel, to protect the shooter's hands should it get too hot. It basically serves the same purpose as any wooden forearm on any rifle, but its lighter, cools fast since its hollow, and can't catch fire etc.. Sometimes they also look scary, which I'm sure is why they've focused on them.

"It's a shoulder thing that goes up!" "No...it's not." http://www.deletedyoutube.ftvteen.com/?v=ospNRk2uM3U
