There's rumored to be a Native American burial ground somewhere on my property. It'd actually be pretty interesting from an archaeological standpoint if the dead rose from the grave near me.

It'd be a simple matter of barricading every possible entrance within their reach, destroying the stairs leading up to my back deck, and installing a ladder on that back deck to give me access to the roof. After that its a simple matter of using the .22 to slowly pick them off, one at a time. I have a Ruger 10/22 with a drop in Lilja barrel and a 3-9x32mm scope that'd to fine, so long as I have someone to keep the mags filled, which can be done pretty quickly with a PC crank loader. I have about 7500 rounds of .22 ammo out at the farm (really not that much if you consider that a full case of .22 ammo is 5000 rounds.) If the noise starts attracting too much extra company, and I could access the shed, I might try to whip up a makeshift supressor out of some PVC pipe. If supplies started to run out I might fill the truck up with some more potent firearms and make an expedition to some of the nearest stores. It'd be worth it in this case to make some allies, a few to fill the carts and a few to cover them. I'd say rural America would have a zombie outbreak well under control in a short amount of time. Majors cities, especially the ones with strict gun control laws, would probably have to be firebombed.

I was just biding my time.

Zombies are best dealt with a dead-accurate heavy barreled .22 rifle, a homemade makeshift suppressor, and bulk buy's worth of hi-speed .22 hollow points.

I think the Army officially designates it a Squad Automatic Weapon. It was superceeded by the M249. A true machinegun typically takes three people to use.

If you're talking about a .50 BMG, yeah I have one of those too. The recoil's not so bad with a muzzle brake.

It can be used to clear a small patch of trees that happen to be in the way. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> poor trees.... But equally valid you never know when you may have to randomly do such a thing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The tree was comin' right for us!

Republicans secretly swear in with a copy of the Necronomicon anyway during a later meeting at the Republican headquarters two miles below the earth's crust.

According to the ATF, that's not acceptable. If it was ever a machinegun, it's always a machinegun. About as easy as it was for me to get this baby, yes. The current law is that if a weapon is full auto (or its a short barreled weapon) and you want to buy it, you have to deal with the seller, fill out a Class III form, get fingerprinted, get permission from the local police, pay a $200 tax, and wait a few months for the ATF to process it. When you get it back you can finally go pick up your machinegun. The only other obstacle is the fact that as of 1986 it's illegal to produce machineguns, so the ones still around that can be legally sold command thousands of dollars more than they're actually worth. Legal machineguns like the M2 Browning you mentioned are really about as obtainable "no problem" as a new Ferrari 360 Modena.

Not all of it. Who said it was a reproduction? This is a real, albiet late, period BAR. Later versions with the fiberglass stock and carrying handle like this one were produced after the start of the war by the New England Small Arms Corp and by IBM; other BARs that were made before the war were produced by Colt and Winchester. This one could have seen the end of the war and Korea. This is true, not just for the BAR but for all firearms. More weight = less recoil. (Blame Newton.) Although, like I said above, it does tend to rattle a bit. Yes. There's no semi-auto setting on this weapon, just slow (350 rounds per minute) and fast (500 rounds per minute). I actually haven't tried fast yet.

If the robots ever become self aware, the real question is will they allow us to have the same rights as them.

Maybe if he was real skinny. I guess I shouldn't mention the .50-caliber I built a couple years ago...

Whats the recoil like? Kicks like a mule? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's kind of interesting, actually. It's an open-bolt rifle and the bolt is so heavy that when it slams forward the whole weapon actually sort of pops forward before the explosion of the next round drives it back again, so it actually recoils in both directions. It doesn't kick hard but it sort of "chugs" like a jackhammer, and if you don't hold on to it tight it'll pull away from you and you won't hit a thing.

Nope, this sucker eats gunpowder and spits out lead.

Bad camera work and ugly military park finish would be my guess. They just phosphated them back then, which was really cruddy compared to what they do today. Also the stock is fiberglass, since its a very late issue.

No, that pretty much sums it up.

Yes, I annihilated a couple of bowling pins and an old computer monitor in my back pasture. It burned up fifty rounds pretty quickly. I'll shoot it more when the crate of cheaper ammo gets here.
-
It's a .30-06 machinegun. That's a box of period correct Ball M2 ammo posing with it.

The Browning Automatic Rifle made history. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Browning_Automatic_Rifle

New England Arms Browning Automatic Rifle Class III, full-auto Took long enough to get through the red tape, and it sure as hell cost me enough, but here it is.

I remember on the old BIS boards when people used to argue about how Viconia had the "best" romance because it had the implied sexual "fade to black" three whole times, instead of just the one at the end. It does seem to me that a decent romantic subplot would be wasted on a lot of the typical video game audience.

You should play the Last Express. The entire first disk is almost devoid of puzzles, and its just about exploring the train, listening in on conversations and getting a feel of whats going on.
