Update (11/30): The GOG Beta branch has now been updated with build 4.0.0.0018 Hello everyone! We have just placed our 4.0.0 patch onto the Beta Branches of Steam. GOG will follow tomorrow. Patch Notes for 4.0.0.0018 New Features Ship Respawning - Ships will now respawn as captains are defeated on the world map to keep the seas interesting to traverse . Ships will not respawn for every captain defeated but will ensure the seas are populated with ships of each faction. Ondra, Wael, & Woedica's Challenge - Three new exciting Challenges will be coming in with this patch: Ondra - Storms on the world map are bigger, faster, and increased in frequency and Enemy Captains are increased in rank and travel faster when chasing the player. Wael - All numerical data for characters, spells, and items are hidden. This excludes Item count, Party Attributes, Skills, and Level. Woedica - All Per-Encounter and Class resources become Per-Rest, Party Health no longer regenerate outside of combat, and only "Prepared Meals" will recover injuries and Resources. New Megabosses - Two new Megabosses can now be challenged in the game:Sigilmaster Auranic Dorudugan New Subclasses - 11 New subclasses are being added to the game to add to variety and allow for more interesting combinations!Tactician (Fighter) Furyshaper (Barbarian) Debonaire (Rogue) Steel Garrote (Paladin) Arcane Archer (Ranger) Forbidden Fist (Monk) Bellower (Chanter) Priest of Woedica (Priest) Ancient (Druid) Blood Mage (Wizard) Psion (Cipher) Major Fixes & Updates Savegames with subdirectories in the zip no longer fail to load. If Beast of Winter is installed, you may now converse with Ydwin as you would a main companion. Summoned creatures now unsummon when their summoner is knocked out. Veteran Difficulty has been tuned to be slightly more difficult.Enemies now have +12% health, +8 accuracy, +1 penetration, +8 all defenses and +1 armor rating on Veteran difficulty. Challenges God Challenges no longer disable mods or Berath's Blessings. New games will no longer have Challenges enabled if the player loaded a Challenge save before starting the new game. Berath's Challenge timer is no longer modified by hostile/beneficial duration multipliers. Berath's Challenge now delays 10 seconds until unconscious party members are killed (from 6 seconds). Slightly increased Vela's base defenses and the health she gains per level during Hylea's Challenge. Users can now use Slow-Mode while playing under the Magran's Challenge. Quests Text & VO More than 100 typos have been fixed. There are no longer errors in Conversation with Engari when Pallegina and Xoti are in the active party. Speaking to generic NPCs in the Sacred Stair no longer displays Missing String messages. Xoti's VO is no longer cut while talking with a lost soul. Dunnage Townsperson no longer produces two barks simultaneously. Abilities GeneralVisage of Death's Herald (and its variants) can no longer be cast on self. Hunter's Instincts has a proper stat block. Boreal Dwarves' Hunter's Instinct effect now matches its description and grants a bonus vs Primordials and Wilders (not beasts). RoguePernicious Cloud Base Penetration from 0 -> 7. PaladinGarrote can no longer be used on Destructibles. Garrote now ends when combat ends or the target is killed. Garrote's base duration reduced from 8.0 sec to 6.0 sec. Garrote can no longer be used on self. Steel Garrote passive healing effect now only applies to weapon attacks. RangerAnimal Companion Armor is now of the category "Light" (from Medium) - this only affects validation such as from "Charged Field". Evasive Fire will no longer target destructibles. Ranger's Strengthened Bond no longer becomes impossible to acquire in some situations. Bonded Fury and Shadowed Hunters will now provide feedback that they are unavailable if the Ranger Animal Companion is unconscious. ChanterTheir Putrid Stench Wafts Across now uses the same targeting style as its base ability "White Wurms Writhed in the Bellies of the Dead". His Laughter Rang Through The Halls now pushes from the caster position rather than the target. Fixed an issue that caused the base Cone effect from "Her Revenge Swept Across the Land" to bounce, not just the additional bolts. PriestRestore is no longer restricted to combat. Eothas Incarnate summons now have weapons that use the same material as the models. DruidFire Stag's Self-Destruct ability is no longer named "Fire Stag". Call to the Primordials now more clearly displays the number of summons. WizardWall of Draining will now properly increase the duration of effects on the caster. Concelhaut's Corrosive Siphon will now correctly heal the caster for each affected enemy. ItemsThundercrack Pistol, Dragon's Dowry, and Frostseeker now have keywords for their respective elements on their attacks. Thundercrack Pistol's Conductive Blast & Storm Rune Shot attacks now have the Electricity keyword. Added minor delays to Essence Interrupter's effects to prevent it from invalidating on death mechanics. Cleansing Flame and Chain Lightning Scrolls now use the "read scroll" animation. Deltro's Cage (Shock Shield) is no longer a passive ability and it is now active. Magran's Shield has the "Shield Engagement" mod now. Scordeo's Edge Accuracy bonus can no longer be stacked higher than the number of times listed on its effect. Multiple instances of the same item mod effect from The Red Hand should no longer infrequently appear as separate effects. Description of Solitude effect has been updated to be more clear. Sound Effects Belranga's Consume ability has proper SFX. SFX for the water pillar during Battle Royale has been added. Rotghasts now have proper SFX when Combat Speed is set to low. Sheathing and unsheathing weapons triggers SFX. SFX added to lightning strike during the play in A Tidy Performance. Defensive Roll trigger has SFX. Visual Effects Soul vision VFX is not prematurely removed during conversation with Spirit Engari. Aexica has proper VFX when appearing to assist Whehami. Glowing eyes effect of the statue of Toamowhai properly fade out. Misc Accuracy indicator on mouse-over now represents the chance to at least Graze, instead of at least Hit. A loading exception when clearing child effects from racial abilities, which prevented some saves from loading correctly, has been fixed. Food items are now classified as either ingredients or prepared meals. Daily Wages are no longer deducted multiple times when loading a game. When the player sells enchanted items that stack with ones the store already has, they will now receive the proper amount of money. Port stores no longer contain multiple infinite stacks of basic supplies. The ability bar has received some optimizations. Fixed an issue that would cause Strengthened Bond to become unavailable during level up. Characters that are engaged or engaging two or more enemies cannot be bumped by allies. Soulbound items can't have quality enchantments added manually, even when they're damaged in Abydon's challenge. The subclass abilities column in the Ability Tree will no longer permanently disappear after viewing a tree that didn't use it. New ship items can now be removed from the shopping cart in the Store UI. Updated bestiary sorting keyword on Body Affliction Resistance so it will now sort correctly. Eating Spoiled Food now lowers the crew's morale. Attacks that teleport the attacker to the target now properly receive accuracy from the attacker's Class. The player can now click to move closer to the edge of the revealed fog of war. DLC Deck of Many Things and Beast of Winter NPC's are no longer displaying empty stores or empty conversations with the player. Uncharted Island naming can no longer be closed by accident.If the player canceled the dialog for naming an uncharted island before this patch, they may access it again by entering and exiting the associated dungeon. Players can no longer duplicate morale rewards from ship combat using quicksaves. The 'Follow Camera' option works correctly on the World Map. Initial cutscene is not repeated after performing a save/load cycle during Battle Royale. Special Armor Ratings are now correctly displayed in the Bestiary. The door in the Eastern Cavern of Rimebound Temple now blends correctly with its surroundings. The combat with the bears in the Eastern Cavern of the Rimebound Temple will not start without Line of Sight. Conditionals for player responses in conversation with Beast of Winter have been updated. Portals in the Sunken Crown are now marked on the area map. King Wingauro's headdress no longer clips with the wall behind him. Responses in the dialogue with Menzzago now grant appropriate disposition points. Glossary links for the word "Nilkzenze" are now appearing correctly. Skill checks in the Kohatekana Expanse function correctly. The Inspect (question mark) button now works in the Grimoire UI. The game will show a useful error message when trying to upload a mod or exported character to the Steam Cloud if the user is out of space.

Patch Notes for 3.1.1.0024 Fixed characters with certain dual-weapon loadouts not using their off-hand attack. Weapons will no longer disappear after the user levels up the equipped character. Essence Interrupter bow will no longer prevent Hauani O Whe from dividing. Users who installed certain localization mods and do not own Seeker, Slayer, Survivor can load their savegames again. The Valian term Sérre now has the proper accent and a tooltip explaining its usage in dialogue.

Figurines and items that have charges do not recharge at the end of combat or after rest, as intended. Hired Adventurers now start with the correct engagement value when they are recruited. Sacred Immolation no longer incorrectly gets 20% increased damage from Sworn Enemy. Riposte no longer causes abilities such as Eternal Devotion to deal no damage. Performing a Save/Load cycle near the aura-granting Paladin while on the ship no longer causes the aura to remain on the player indefinitely. Characters exported to Steam Workshop are set to be visible to public by default. Character Inspection window has been adjusted to a smaller font based on player feedback. The Character Export feature allows the player to import a pre-made character during character creation, recruit an imported pre-made character at any tavern, and export their own Watcher or Hired Adventurer character for their own local use or share to the public through the Steam Workshop. Let's go through each of these one by one. Importing a Pre-made Character during Character Creation Upon starting a new game and entering character creation, the player may choose to Import a Character. By default, there are 12 pre-made characters to choose from. This may be added to with your own exported Watcher or Hired Adventurer characters, but we'll get to that later. From the Import Character screen, you may preview their starting attribute point spread, their class and race, and their ability tree. To start modifying a pre-made character, just click the Import button for the pre-made character template you wish to start with. From here, you will be brought to the Character Customization screen and may quickly proceed to character finalization or you may go back and make any adjustments to your character as you see fit before finalizing it. Recruiting a Pre-made Character Recruiting a pre-made character works almost the same as recruiting a Hired Adventurer. First of all your Watcher character must be at least level 2 or higher. Then, simply visit any tavern and speak with the barkeeper and navigate to the Recruit Adventurers menu in their shop UI. Once there, you'll notice that you may recruit any Imported Character from here. You may hire them at either their Native Level (the level that the pre-made character was when they were originally exported) or at any level below your Watcher's level. Additionally, you may recruit a pre-made character with their imported equipment at an adjusted cost or without their imported equipment at normal recruitment level-adjusted cost. This option can be set on the bottom left of the Recruit Character confirmation window by using the Without Equipment toggle. Exporting a Character You may export your Watcher character and any Hired Adventurer characters in your party roster to be used as a pre-made character. This can be done by opening the Character Sheet and navigating to the Export tab. From there, simply click the Export button which is signified as a file folder icon and your character will be added to the list of Exported Characters and be available as a pre-made character during character creation and adventurer recruitment. Keep in mind that you will not be able to recruit any pre-made characters that are in your party roster. So no going around with a party of 5 of your Watchers no matter how cool 5 of yourself is! If you are playing the game from Steam, you may additionally upload your character to the Steam Workshop by clicking the "Upload to Steam Workshop" button which is signified as a Steam application icon. Your exported character file will be uploaded to the Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Steam Workshop page for anyone in the community to use. To download a contributing community member's pre-made character, click on their pre-made character mod and subscribe to their content. From there, make sure that your received character file is in the following file destination: %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Pillars of Eternity II\ExportedCharacters After this, your newly added exported character from the community will be available. You may also remove a character retrieved from the Steam Workshop by Unsubscribing to the content. This can be done either from within the game at any tavern and navigating to the Recruit Adventurers screen and clicking the Unsubscribe button or you can unsubscribe from the content directly from the Steam Workshop. Please Be Aware Be aware that you will be able to import characters that have unique items and that you will be at risk of unforseen consequences to gameplay if you choose to do so willingly. This of course also applies to characters that are imported/exported while cheats are enabled.

Patch notes for v3.0.1.0026 GoG users will no longer be missing DLC information when they shouldn't and vice versa. Saves now work as expected when attempting to create a save file. Izzia's conversation will no longer trap the user in a dialog window. Music no longer overlaps during day and night cycles. Fixed an issue where only 5 of the 10 Galawain Challenge buffs were being used for each playthrough. Flames of Devotion no longer gets stuck in an infinite animation loop. Text is now bolded in not-Latin languages All ships can now be used when starting "Seeker, Slayer, Survivor." Fur of Frost passive no longer gets reapplied when removed with a Fire ability.

Hey all! Here are the expectations for the DLC, that I will throw behind some spoilers: Note: There is currently a bug we are fixing where the submarine is not allowing for the DLC to start, and can be circumvented by switching to another ship. If all the above are done and the DLC still does not appear to start, please DM me your save that is causing you issues, and ensure the DLC is purchased and checked off on steam. I do not man the forums any longer, so if it is not messaged directly to me I may miss it and I would hate to leave you guys hanging! Hope this all helps! -Caleb

Hi BirbMan3000, Sorry youre having this issue. I see you tried to attach your dxdiag to this bug but I am not seeing it . If youre having issues, some players have had success with placing the files on a shared drive and posting a link to it. Additionally, have you tried Verifying your game file integrity? This can be done by right-clicking the game in steam, going to local files, and selecting Verify Integrity. Hope this helps! -Caleb

Beta Patch notes for v3.0.0.0010 New Features & Updates New Berath's Blessings - New Berath's Blessings have been added into the game:Loaded Pockets - NPC pockets are filled with more and rarer items. Legendary Crew - 3 Veteran Sailors become available in the Kraken's Eye tavern, they are better than normal and cheaper than normal. Discount Craftsman - Crafting and enchanting costs are reduced. Mythical Discovery - Start with a Mythical Adra Stone in the prologue armoire (free upgrade from Legendary → Mythic Quality) New Ranger Abilities - There are now 5 new Ranger abilities added to the game:Hunter's Claw - (2 Bond) Full Attack, The first target hit with this grants +1 Accuracy vs the target's Race until Rest. Subsequent hits against the same race will increase stacks (up to +20). Resting clears all stacks and allows a different race to be chosen. Hunter's Fang - Same as Hunter's Claw, but also grants +1% Damage per stack. Beast's Claw - Same as Hunter's Claw, but also grants +1 Defense per stack. Bonded Fury - (3 Bond), Grants the Ranger's Animal Companion all 6 Tier 2 Inspirations, for 30s. Heart Seeker - (4 Bond), Primary Attack (Ranged Only) Fires an unerring ranged attack that strikes all characters in a line, dealing +100% Damage with +4 Penetration and Enfeebling for 20s. Crystal Eater Empress Megaboss - Megabosses make their debut with the first to make their way into the game; The Crystal Eater Empress! Test your mettle against one the toughest fights within the game. Kill Camera - A new feature has been added to allow for some excitement to combat! Kill Cam will exemplify combat with key events and text! This feature will include options to customize how it works and can be found in the new Camera Tab of the Options Menu. Eothas and Galawain's Challenge - Two New exciting Challenges will be coming in with this patch from Eothas and Galawain:Eothas- Players must complete the game within a set game time or be met with a Game Over Galawain - Beasts now contain random buffs that are defined at the start of the game, for the duration of the game! Can you survive these dangerous new changes? New Community Pet - You all voted and the tallies are in! Nebula the Astral Bat is now available in game! Recently Used Spells - Frequently used spells are now remembered and displayed in the UI, so searching through your high list of spells should be a little easier to manage. Resolved Major IssuesCharacters no longer get stuck in an endless animation loop when using certain abilities with Two-handed weapons. AI Options for Ghost Animal Companions now work as expected. Many older saves that were not working previously due to conversation bundles now load as expected. Various frame-rate fixes for players that experience drops during extended play. The Enchanting Menu does not display when the Crafting Menu is opened. FixesMany typos from our typo megathread have been addressed. Full Attacks from fireams in offhand no longer have a 0 recovery time. Portraits display correct images when playing the game in Linux. TEMP text no longer displays for Magran's Challenge. Menus no longer overlap in Ship Combat. Adventurers in towns now show the correct data. Mod Manager displays correctly in the Options Menu. All Pets use the correct model that is expected Director Castol has had his conversation fixed for typos. The Producer's Sword shows up correctly for Mac Users. The default text box displays in the selected language at launch. Combat Log displays in the language selected when changed in game. Alcoholic Beverages no longer display missing strings. Ikiuq Crew member now displays his correct model in game. Loading a save after a character dies in combat no longer results in an infinite load screen for Mac users. Orlans ears display correctly when wearing the Acorn Helm. The main menu can no longer be opened during SI conversations that would break Trial of Iron saves. The conversation window is no longer obscured if opened with the ESC button during a dialog. All interface layouts now display the UI notifications correctly. Druid Shift forms no longer crash the game when inventory items are moved. Performance no longer drops when viewing Spiritshift model forms in the Inventory Screen. The Crookspur Vessel will no longer continuously attempt to engage retreating ships. Spiritual Weapon VFX now properly aligns with the model. Rods now deal the correct type of damage when attacking with them. Crew member models no longer spawn at the same point simultaneously. Attacking destructibles from stealth now properly removes stealth from the attacker. Auto-Attack As Default Action toggle has been implemented to AI Behavior.

To kind of shed some light on the process, there are many variables that may prevent issues as seeing problems 100% that you may observe on your computer, which is why save games and output.logs help in our investigations to reproduce problems. Most often if you do see an issue and want to have the best case scenarios for us to get the matter fixed for you it's always a best practice to employ . Best, -Caleb -

Hello all! We have attempted to reproduce the issue in house and are not able to get animations to loop as mentioned above. Would any of you have a save or some media to add to help us investigate the issue for you? Thanks! -Caleb
