  1. How much does it cost to ACME-proof your livestock these days?
  2. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't nail the whole compulsive loot collecting and character building part that all Elder Scrolls games have done really well. The random quest generator also looks incredibly interesting as far as giving you things to do, it would have been more interesting if they'd kept the chickens imo but at least it gives the modders something to work towards. I'm optimistic about it.
  3. Congrats on the pistol kills, if it's anything like bad company 2 then that couldn't have been easy.
  4. New Modern Warfare 3 trailer.
  5. He is you. He is me. He is all of us.
  6. Do I still need to worry about companion bugs? I'm at the point now where I'm almost afraid to do anything in case I break them.
  7. More Xenonaughts info I know a few of you were big fans of the X-Com games, this is worth reading up on if you're still interested in that genre.
  8. Started a second playthrough of New Vegas now I have all the DLC. Out of interest, does anyone know if the companion quests can still be bugged to the point where they are impossible if you've done certain things before aquiring them/didn't bring them with you at a specific moment or has that all been patched now?
  9. I am now officially on holiday. Yes. \o/
  10. Alien Swarm , this is co-op & Steam only but it's free and very fun. Torchlight - My dad is very much into these kinds of games and says Torchlight is excellent, it's quite cheap now too. * Demo * Deathspank - created by Monkey Island's Ron Gilbert and Hothead Games * * * Review and Trailer - basically it's not bad, especially for it's price, lot's of humour but even so Torchlight is better and costs about as much. * "DeathSpank part 3 - The Baconing" is also out now, might be worth just jumping into that one possibly?
  11. Famous actors do in small part add to the prestige and pulling power for games though, maybe not with us who play a lot of games and read about them but for the larger market maybe? If you didn't know much about games beyond liking certain ones and disliking some others then having Liam Neason's name thrown around will at least get your attention over other competitors. Okay so it's not like the names are on the box but they can easily come up in conversation. I can picture it paying off, and since it's common practice then it's probably proven to as well, which while taking away from the quality of the game is unfortunatly probably importan enough in a lot of cases to warrent it too. But that said, voice actors can add an amazing amount to a game when they do their job well so if a famous actor manages that with their role then they quite possibly recoup their cost anyway. By the way, are there vast armies of talented voice actors out there? I have no idea myself, but it does seem like a lot of familiar voices are often cropping up in the games I play even if the actor isn't a famous celeb like Patrick Stewart or Yvonne Strahovski.
  12. It's my birthday on saturday and I have a week off starting October 3rd to celebrate. Hurrah.
  13. Denny Crane?
  14. Er, never? You'll need to keep up with the new games too. Steam should start selling time with their steam sale bundles.
  15. Maybe there will be a "long talk" DLC reserved entirely for the scolding that deserves.
  16. That is pretty cool. Not sure how they did the lightning effects in game... I have nothing to base this on really but I suspect they actually did it in source and made it look like minecraft because of the special beam effects.
  17. Well at least I know now. Another of life's great mysteries explained away.
  18. I stopped watching Black Sheep part-way through but was there ever any humour in it? It did the gore very well but I remember thinking it was blatantly misadvertized by the trailer.
  19. They're rocket scientists, not mathematicians, give them a break.
  20. I think it probably has something to do with changes to steam itself for that item trading feature they recently introduced.
  21. All the same I think I'd need a bigger pot to cook one of those monsters.
  22. I meant liking Westgate a lot by the way* Waterdeep isn't in the mod I was just tired and not thinking properly
  23. Yes I have, in my opinion it was short but very enjoyable. It's more like an afternoon D&D session rather than the multi-part campaign that NWN2 & Mask would be. As I remember it the mod tried very hard to make use of all the skills in conversations. The story was entertaining (if a bit cliche) and the three companions were well written, interact with each other a fair bit and they and their side-stories and interwoven with the main plot (and each other) rather nicely. The combat was challenging, I seem to remember people complaining it was unfairly balanced if you weren't playing certain couple of classes but I cannont remember how much of that is fact and how much of it is people complaining for the sake of it. The areas were nicely put together, I remember liking waterdeep a lot although you will get a sense that you're in another part of Neverwinter from time-to-time. Very little voice acting in the mod unfortunatley, companions receive the worst of it because some of their important lines are voiced but most aren't, which is a shame because the lady rogue had a lovely voice. I don't know if this would constitute a spoiler but the mod ends setting up a sequel which (thanks to Atari being **** about their DRM testing) will never happen. I think if you want to stretch out the NWN2 engine for a bit longer then MoW is worth
  24. Ouch, I had a root canal earlier this year as well. I don't think the jaw ache lasted more than a day in my case, I hope yours also passes quickly.
  25. Welcome to the future everybody, it's finally here.
