  1. Hmm, you have a point about there being other ways, I suppose, but I can't agree to your opinion that it's "a bit of a cheat". In both games as well as movies, flashbacks have always seemed to me like one of the best ways for a number of things, like showing a characters past and such. Sure, it's fine when a character simply tells you about his/her past, but it doesn't IMHO have quite the same effect as a well-done flashback...
  2. Not really. We see him fight with a lightsaber in Dark Empire I & II, but that's because that he has become young again using his clones and the Dark Side.
  3. You mean for the main chara? Well, that'd be fine since I wasn't directing this thread at only "our" character, but also at other characters in the game... but if there's no kind of flashbacks at all, it'd be a pity :/
  4. Do you think there should be flashbacks in KOTOR 2? And then I'm not only talking about flashbacks for "our" own character or the party members, but also for the bad guys? Wouldn't it be kinda cool and also add to the story/character deepth if there was, for example, a cutscene where Darth Sion is medidating and then has a flashback about whatever happened that put him and his body in it's state as it is now, as well as they reason of why he was keept alive or choose to remain alive despite the fact that it would torture him every single moment...? At least, I think it'd be cool if there was flashbacks, especially like what I just said for the bad guys. It'd be so much more interesting than hearing people/one character simply tell you those things...
  5. Don't know anything about Halo and I don't care . But I seriosly doubt that Halo would beat KOTOR II on a KOTOR II forum, so it's not really an even contest
  6. . Well, might as well make my owen comment about Bastila... I didn't hate her unlike many of the peopel here, but I didn't idolize her either ;p. But her romance was IMHO a great deal of fun and reminded me quite a lot of Han/Leia's relationship... If you think of it, Bastila acted pretty much like Leia did in episode 4, or at least she was just as, err, "grateful" to the main chara for comign to her rescure . I do think that Mission has a point about Bastila through; she should learn how to loosen up a little :D. And Canderous once calls her a "spoiled little Jedi princess" which is IMO not entirely wrong
  7. It'd probably be much like Darth Jason (Foxtrot reference.. :D )
  8. Hmm, I don't know what race Yoda is of, but it'd indeed be interesting to see one or two of his race on the Dark side - it's something we've never seen before...
  9. Hmm, remember that tribe that Luke and Kam Solusar encoutered on Ossus (if you've read Dark Empire II, that's it)? They were able to use the force to a limited extent - very limited extent - but they could use the force nonetheless and it seems like they were self-taught, so that's a proof that the Force is sooner or later discovered and used by someone.
  10. I wonder abotut hat. Remember that the Republic only first and foremostly only "helps" their own plannets. Also, the Jedi are neutral and can stand over several laws, whereas the republic if it interfered would risk getting in conflict with it's own laws. Also, Jedi are good negotiators, better than most normal people, probably much thanks to their Affect Mind and Force Persaude powers... Also, the jedi can party put themselves above political matters when it comes to solving crimes and such, which can be difficult in certain situations....
  11. Actually, I wonder if it matters that the Jedi are there or not... See, the problem seem to be the Force itself; it's because of the Force that the Jedi exist to begin with... and if you look at it in that light, it's probably better that the Jedi are there, otherwise people would still develop force Abilites on their own (althrough perhaps just minor powers) and it seems to be esier to fall down to the Dark side then...
  12. I've heard the same. Kinda unfair to the old actor if you ask me :/. But I suppose that Old Lucas, ruling over everything connected to Star Wars with an even harder iron fist than Palpatine, wants something more than there was before to tie the old and new movies together...
  13. I see that you're more opitimistic than me then . But I suppose that we shall see when the game is here. At least, as a LS it should be a lot easier to not end up killing anyone in your party, especially if you put quite a bit of effort in your charisma/persaude skills...
  14. Thanks for the info, Kdy-worker
  15. Only that much!? That doesn't seem like a fitting level for the "THE Dark Lord of the Sith", as I've heard him be called by some., IMO... Nah, not necressiary. I was more or less just thinking of how powerful a character (from the games, that's it) would be at a certain level if compared to one of the Jedi or sith we're more familiar with, like Palpatine, Yoda and others...
  16. Hmm, that speculation seem a ltitle too... wild for me . At least the part about the lightsiders; I'm not so certaint hat you'd gain your rank from them... I'd rather think that you must find some other Jedi in the game (non-joinable NCP), a former member of the Jedi Council or something, receive a mission from him/her and when you complette it, you have your rank!
  17. Hmm, so being level 20 or 30 is even more powerful than Yoda or Palpatine? O_o. Interesting... One can one wonder how powerful Sith like Exar Kun or Marka Ragnos were, then..
  18. Indeed she was :D Don't ask me, I don't know anything about the D20
  19. I've seen the same article,or two articles like that mentioning it. Can't fing it either for some reason, but this:linkie suggests that the article has been on GameSpy. Couldn't find it there, thorugh. I suppose that if it was an "old" article from 03, then they might've deleted it to give room for new info... Anyway, the list seems to go like this: Jedi Master = Master Yoda Watchman = Obi-Wan Weapon Master = Mace Windu Sith Lord = Emperor Palpatine Marauder = Darth Maul Assassin = Mara Jade (from the EU)
  20. Of course you shouldn't be able to corrupt everyone, that'd be unrealistic. But it should be possible to sway at least some characters either the dark or light way. And it should defintively be an option to corrupt at least one of the "good guys" (preferably Atris) and redeem at least one of the "dark/bad guys"....
  21. Sith Lord for me *big grin*
  22. Yeah, apparently some people will appear or not depending on a variety of things; whenever your chara is light/dark, man/woman, etc...
  23. ... and this is probably the best thing about KOTOR 2 that there is IMHO . Those thigns you mentioned would really add to the realism of the game, as will other things we've heard about... for example, unlike in KOTOR 1, if you make a "bad" choice, it doesn't necressiary mean that your party members will blindly follow you . That was an annoying thing in KOTOR 1 if I think about it; you could do all sorts of evil stuff with Bastila, Juhani and other light side-characters present and they wouldn't lift a finger to try and stop it... What kind of "servants of light" does that make them? ;p.
  24. Heh, maybe I'd be put at a disadvantage if I kill her, but you gotta role-play a little here ;p. Through I could possibly imagine myself playing a good boy until more party members had arrived :D. Besides, since there seems like there'll be conficts within your party more easily than in KOTOR 1, killing at least some party members can't be avoided, unfortunately. But why would you necressiary be put at a disadvantage by killing Juhani? There'll be two other jedi anyway and even if you lose Bastila later on, you're a Jedi yourself and together with Jolee it shouldn't be all too difficult to clear the game. And stuff like bombs and so used by non-force users can more or less make up for the lack of their not being able to use the force... Besides, if you're a DS, slaying Juhani could be better since she'll turn on you in the end anyway.
