How well does Integration of Immigrants work in your country?
Hell Kitty replied to Morgoth's topic in Way Off-Topic
Indeed. I caught up with an old school friend recently and he complained that there weren't many Aussies in the suburb he just moved into, it was mostly Asians. In my experience this is a pretty typical view here amongst white people, that if you aren't white you don't get called an Aussie. How are immigrants supposed to integrate when society constantly insists that they belong to some other group? -
It's only a marketing ploy if the choices you made in ME1 don't actually change anything in ME2, and until we play ME2 we can't know what consequences our choices have. If they have a significant impact on the path the game takes then it'll actually be quite a step up from what we usually see in games. Though given your views on Bio it's hardly surprising you'd take a glass-half-empty view.

It's about bloody time they released something new. Of course the best thing about this trailer is the voice of Michael Ironside. There was talk a while back that he might not return. http://www.manofconviction.com The first bullet hole says: Restricted [ 05.20.09 ] and the second Restricted [ 05.28.09 ]

Because it breaks immersion! The immersion will be broken. Is that what you want, to break the immersion? Why don't you care about the immersion? How does a human looking at an incoming grenade and going "uh oh, that grenade is going to land near me" and then dodging out of the way break immersion? Please explain. Beats me, it's not my immersion that was broken.

So you prefer one art style over another, how its made isn't relevant. Artwork produced with a WACOM tablet isn't inferior to artwork produced with a pencil and paper. A cartoonish style doesn't automatically equal immature just as a realistic style doesn't automatically equal mature. And that duckbunny is an unholy monstrosity.

Girls don't like it when you do that.

Some pretty pictures of The Darkness:

Clearly she was ideologically opposed to building a fence in rain, wind, and hail.

I finished Butcher Bay a few nights ago (never played the original release), and I'm almost at the end of Dark Athena, and I've really enjoyed both. There are sections that are just straight FPS, but there are also many opportunities for sneaking around, as well as times when you move back and forth between areas doing jobs for people. I also love the art style in this (and The Darkness). When I first started playing AoDA it kinda made me hope Project RedLime is actually a new System Shock, rather than the rumoured Syndicate. After The Darkness and this, it certainly seems a better fit for Starbreeze.

A rope that magically comes out the end of an arrow is pretty ridiculous, but this is one of those times when fun should win out. Rope arrows are awesome. Claims that climbing makes the game like Tomb Raider are ridiculous. Climbing doesn't have to be an easy escape*, if a guard doesn't have a bow then do like Assassin's Creed does and let them throw rocks to knock you down. *To be fair, Thief has always allowed Garrett to get away from guards by climbing to places they can't get to. Hell, you could climb on a table and then fill their face with arrows while they stood there shaking their fist at you.

Man, all this stuff coming out now, but when the game was still in development all they could manage was a few tiny, lame teasers? -

What do you mean, do the ads change/update? Yep. The Wolverine posters have changed to Observe and Report (new Seth Rogen movie) posters. Do you suppose all the ad's are preloaded and on a certain date they change or do you think the game receives updates via the internet? Via internet. There is also a poster for something called Lesbian Vampire Killers, which apparently is in cinemas May 21. The posters feature Australian ratings, so ads are region specific. Edit: I restarted the game after disabling the internet connection to my 360, and now the billboards are all ads for an in-game company.

What are the chances the first post about this would be complaining about the name? Anyway, I want screenshots or video or something damnit. On their twitter page it says: I'm guessing we won't find out any real info until mags with exclusive stories are out. I just noticed this on the EM site: So I guess we won't be seeing much of anything for a while. From Ren

I noticed that Wolverine poster when I was playing Saint's Row 2 the other day. Even though I've put over 100 hours into the game, it was the first time I even noticed in-game advertising. I have no idea what ad used to be on those billboards.

Telling parents they haven't given their kid a real name certainly isn't going to get you anywhere.

This is from Scott Miller (of 3DR), about what does and doesn't make for a good game name. One is that you shouldn't give your game a name that can be criticised. Of course these are only guidelines, not rules. Duke Nukem Forever would totally be an awesome name if the game wasn't the biggest joke in the gaming industry. -
More details and spoil me rotten. Big ass "I'm totally going to ruin the movie, don't say I didn't warn you" spoilers: I thought he was awesomely sexy in LoTR and in general, but the stills from ST have him looking plastic-greasepaint faced. Is that a false impression? Oh, I wasn't talking about looks, I just thought he made an awesome, awesome Bones.

Agreed. I find it interesting that nobody has ever actually met It seemed that way but an actor has been cast in that role, though I suppose he could simply be a stand-in. It actually made me think of [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carniv
