  1. HEY LOOK EVERYONE! I can spread wild rumors too! It's been confirmed by a dev that the force power "Force Win" is going to be included in the upcoming KOTOR II game. It's the dark side power that when activated, lets you win the game instantly! W00t!.
  2. Just a... you know, a little whoopsy doo here from the old BIS boards? Having user mods isn't exactly the best idea on earth...
  3. Yao Ming was criticized for exhibiting an "elitest" attitude after getting pissed off (and showing it) at his team mate's mistakes. Now people are saying his experiences in playing in America made him a more horrible person. This is BS. If your team mates suck, you have every right to get pissed off. Besides which, Yao Ming scored like more than half of the points. If I were the coach, I'd be like "Okay Yao. You can yell at whoever you want, just WIN THE GAME. I'll tell you what, if you win the game, I'll call up Hu Jing Tao, invite him over, and you can yell at him for fifteen minutes. Just win the game."
  4. HA! If you're talking about folks like Volourn or Gromnir, you're missing half of what this board can offer if you decide to ignore them.
  5. Hmm... really? I'm not sure if I agree with you on that. All the threads I've looked at had much more constructive posts than pointless petty one liners. Most of the one liners were expressions of opinion, which is certainly valid. But that's just the point: posters who have been here longer don't flame much at all. If you do a search under my name or anyone else who's been here for a while, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth hooting about.
  6. You make good points: but I'd like to point something out concerning the above quote: I agree, however, that's not entirely true. www.firetrill.com/forums is a forum for Jedi Academy. Most of the posters are over 20, yet the immature flaming is nearly unparalleled.
  7. I did some years of "Street fencing" when I lived in Queens, NY. For those of you that live in towns where you can walk the streets without being robbed, street fencing is the art of fending off intruders with a baseball bat. There are two important components to street fencing: 1. Swinging the bat wildly to scare off your opponent 2. Talking trash about his mother. These two are equally important in overcoming your victi... err... opponent.
  8. Oh that is hardly the truth. Immaturity is usually a trait of younger posters who post without making a point or contributing to the topic. While such posts do exist here, I feel this board contains some of the most witty and intelligent gamers out there. One thing you must understand is most of the frequent posters here have been posting together for more than four years. I know I joined the old BIS boards back in april of 2001, and I still see many familiar e-faces here today. A quip or banter or even a witty retort among friends is nothing more than an amiable gesture. Don't take it to heart. While that is certainly true, it's hardly the case here. Rarely do you see pages of unconstructive flaming. Sure insults are traded, but they're usually short and kept to a couple of posts; hardly the snowballing effect you're implying. Here's where I absolutely disagree with you. Look at the threads in suggestions or general discussions. Pointless petty one liners are VERY rare. Most of the posts are dominated by strong, constructive points that contribute to the topic at hand. Don't take my word for it; go check out some of those threads yourself. There's no such thing as "Obsidian Ent fans". Some of us have been following these developers for four or more years, particiapated in suggestions and discussion for all their games, and when some completely new poster joins these boards to flame us because our criticism was too "negative" for their favorite game, it's not friction; it's blatant disrespect for both the developers and the posters.
  9. Hmm. no wonder Volourn complained about a sour taste in his mouth after last night. Okay, I think this topic is gonna get moderated.
  10. Haha, I'm not criticizing'em. I often imagine Volourn as a big huggable bear in real life and Gromnir as a... one of those... head bobbers. JN's witty for all the wrong reasons and I can't help splitting my sides reading Cosmo's posts.
  11. I should add Hades_one to my list of board trolls, but I can't quite identify his -ism.
  12. Okay. The offenders mostly have only one or two posts under their names. That shows they're not a problem. They post, and leave. Same thing happens on just about every board. The CORE members, the members that post much and post often, are usually kind, intelligent, and witty guys. These people define message boards, not the occasional "fire and forget" trolls. We have very few people that might fit your quirk who also posts regularly. They can be easily identifiable by their -ism's. Volourn: Why do you lie? Stop crying. No. Gromnir: we be roleplaying a half orc on a message board. Ha! Good fun! JN: Your points are all invalid and you should go die. Product of the Cosmos: LMAO the government is trying to take over IMO LOL. Other than those people, no problems.
  13. The offenders all have relatively low post counts. Most of the troublemakers are new arrivals. Edit: holy crap Nissa, you've been typing for the last 8 minutes. I smell a really large post coming on!
  14. 7 hour long feature presentation of Feargus explaining the intricacies of coffee fetching.
  15. Okay thanks Roshan
  16. Okay, let's face it people, jedi masters aren't that fun to play. You just sit there and you meditate. That might work for a screen saver, but I doubt I'd want it as a game.
  17. Now, I'm by no means an expert in Hindu mythology, but I do live in Edison, NJ (we have more Indians than India does, and cricket is a national sport here) and all my best friends are Indian. I was under the impression that Indra was a pretty major god?
  18. What's wrong with adjunta pall? He fit in quite fluidly with the plotline.
  19. Also a tad OT, but they pulled off the speeder fights EXTREMELY well in Jedi Academy, or so I thought. It felt like jousting, of sorts. You could also force push/pull the enemies off their speeders. The slow motion crashes were just icing on the cake.
  20. That's possibly the greatest idea of a storyline I've ever heard.
  21. RED RANCOR energy drink, giving you the *boost* you need! Order now, why delay? Nothing queches your thirst like RED RANCOR.
  22. IT'S THE RAPTURE!!! JESUS IS COMING!!! RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
  23. I want to see planets blown up. Preferably more than two.
  24. take a number, get in line.
