Games ported to DX10 suck bad, but maybe games designed for DX10 from the start will play better?

DX10 uses geometry shaders, which is basically 3D textures, the low fps I'm getting is cuz of the stupid waterfall The wireframe view shows that it's not using many actual polys at all

Nah Ravenholm was still scarier than the FEAR expansion. Hearing the fast zombies coming for you on the rooftops still makes me say "omfg where am I going to hide!?" But FEAR has pure kinetic hardcore tactical shooting action that you just can't beat, and it must be played on extreme difficulty and without slowmo so u appreciate it.

I think Vista UAC is good in that it absolutely eliminates any chance of crapware being snuck on to your PC. However I had to disable it because of driver issues and what not.

Which is ironic considering that the engine out performed the source engine. The better game engine doesn't always become the most popular one. I don't think the Doom 3 engine out-performed source... I was speaking in terms of its performance in regards to rendering. Source is certainly more popular. Light and shadows yes, physics no. Of course I hate Source stutter, I don't get it anymore but I did severely in the past.
