Dude you are also talking like it's 6 months ago. Stability is in. SLI works. Games like FEAR do run faster. DX10 games are emerging. If you are a high end PC gamer, then stop being a pansy and upgrade to Vista, it's solid right now, and features like the game explorer make organizing the games you have installed easier.

Unless you care about 1-3 fps then you should probably switch to Vista now. I did and I don't regret Not before I have a DX10 rig with 4Gb RAM. Besides, I saw benchmarks that show that even the DX10 optimised Crysis still runs better on XP with the same settings. Yeah but your talking like it's 6-months ago. I think Penryn supposed to come out this month, and 9800 GTXs are supposed to come out in February. If you got cash and patience then wait for it dude. Anything else of interest, I dunno. Display-port monitors?

Have you tried UT3 yet Bok? How does it run on your jet strapped to a cpu of yours? I can only play it smoothly with settings on low! I'm debating whether to get a new just released 8800GT with the new die shrink or just wait till the Geforce 9 series comes out. THen again the 8800GT is only $250 and its faster then the 8800GTS! How much of a performance boost do you think Ill get from a 7800GT 256MB overcloced to a 8800GT 512MB. UT3 I'm like averaging 40 FPS on everything high and 2xAA. UT3 is prolly the most demanding (not "crysis demanding" tho) of all the U3 engine games I've played so far. However I think driver updates are going to make it run faster, like Medal of Honor Airborne ran faster after updates. But yeah it's upgrade time I say. A 7800 GTX to 8800 GTX was night and day, and I'm sure a 7800 GT to 8800 GT would be the same, in every game. You can also wait for 9 series, but that means you can't enjoy UT3 until next year then.

Yea even medium looks better than most games on high. So yea prepare for Crysis overload

Plays fine here, everything high except medium shadows, never drops below 30 fps, except in large battles. I don't even think the demo is using SLI either. Shooting down trees and completely destroying houses is awesome. This is the first game that surpasses HL2's physics.
