The myth that a "god" can be killed was always a troublesome concept to me, mainly derived of greek mythology's immortality ideals. ( Find a cursed sword and you will be able to slay so and so when they are an all-powerful being). Evenmore I always found the concept of "We do not believe in anything, therefore we have no religion." as that is actually a seperation from all things supernatural/spiritual so that would technically be a religion, as denying that spiritualism is the in hindsight admitting fear of it - thus unrealizing that they are admitting that it exists. Pillars was a perfect example of this. But as a real life Christian, I have to say that that I'm glad that these groups of people exists in Pillars as they do in real life. It's a beautiful thing to have diversity but even more to know that Obsidian is paying this much attention to detail in their games. Religion is a beautiful thing

I have a feeling Baldurs Gate 2 will take no.1 spot. With Planescape Torment in either 2nd, 3rd or 4th. -

I'm surprised that a few of the games on my list actually made it. I never thought the members on here shared a common taste in gaming as me... Perhaps I misjudged them, I learned something new from this. Thank you... -
"He cannot find evidence to back up his claim, therefore it does not exist..." It's not that I can't find the evidence, it's as I already stated long ago, there are tons of videos, I don't feel like looking through all of them. Sorry. Should you choose not to believe that is,entirely up to you, I couldn't care less. The fact remains I'm afraid and if it didn't, there wouldn't be a point of making this post. Now excuse me, I'm cooking my weiner on the grill. I don't want to burn my frank, so...

Does a god bleed? Is a god false if it does a group of people believe they do nt exist? These are great questions that Pillars will ask. I remember many people complaining about religeon in the first game but look at where we are now. Hee, this discussion is beautiful. I'm glad to hear that they will only be building upon it and expanding the foundation. Religeon is and will always be oe of the most interesting and important things for the future of this franchise

I'm confused of how this thread somehow turned out to be fans vs haters. Maybe I missed a page but moreover, I never said criticism should not be allowed and devoided, only that the game should not take on epic changes which hinder the end result more than help it. I think we can all agree that Early Access/Beta doesn't always help and while this isn't Early Access, some backers are treating it as so. Are we as backers really so entitled because we funded the game? I knw some people would love to think so but if we are being honest and realistic then the answer is "No." I, also, don't expect any backer to calculate any given system that is more accurate or advanced than what Obsidian comes up with, as the people working at Obsidian have much more experience in D&D and so on than any of us. Thank God it's already in Beta and that the big decisions are likely already made. It would be a disaster if a group of beta backers agreed something/things needed to be changed and that ruined the game for everyone else.

*inserts random W40k heresy picture* Hey, I call things as I see 'em. A spade a spade, and Temple of Doom a mediocre film. You’re not man of taste, sir! I *am* a man of taste, and that is why I don't like Temple of Doom! What's next, are we gonna defend Ghostbusters 2 as well? Are you kidding me lol People here would defend the newest Ghostbusters game to the death -

I forgot to give my speech on Hyper Light Drifter... it's Zelda but better in almost every way. It's obscure and a total acid trip, but what's more is that the dying developer who was sick when making this game, interjected alot of himself into the game. For those wondering why the drifter bleeds or coughs up blood for no reason at random times, well there is the reason... but it's not that which makes this game better than Zelda games, it's the reasoning that it is a mere clone which surpasses the fames franchises and refines everything from exploration to combat. A truly amazing feat. The game never made it to the WiiU or Switch because the developer... well.. you probably can already guess. Another underrated legend, nothing new here -

Lol I completely missed a page due to holiday parties it seems, but I still stand by the praise I give each game. I can defos agree with the box art, though those classic boxes like Tetris are great too. -

Some gems here, an mmo in which you rarely run into another player, a horror game which flips the genre on its head, an rpg that's actually original for once, a metroidvania in which nearly anyone who's played it claims/admits it's better than Super Metroud and Castlevania Symphony Of The Night and a beautiful platforner that proves platformers have just as much grace, emotion and depth as a 200 hour rpg. All of them have one thing in common, they are all aesthetically beautiful and all redefine their given genres. These are great torch runners and someday will be iconic to future generations when they no longer know the names Mario or Pac-Man and you know what? I don't mind at all. You have great taste. -

The Steam awards have been doing a phenomenal job this year, no bs alert - even non-Steam users will agree. Glad to be a part of both this one and the Steam's. -

Portraits
SonicMage117 replied to iscalio's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Can you import different portraits for companions then as well? It wouldn't make much sense to have a semi-realistic portrait for one character and then the game's standard low-res portraits for everyone else. -
From what I've read from people who have actually played both. Pillars is pretty much made for consoles, though it wasn't originally made with consoles in mind. The new UI fits perfectly and surprisingly feels much better than it's pc counterpart. Same with Divinity Original Sin... I've only played the pc version myself but by everyone saying that, it definitely has made me interested.

SonicMage117 replied to iscalio's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I don't see anything wrong with the new portraits, the polynisian saturation is a nice front to cover up small mistakes. It's better than the ultra-high quality semi-realism treatment and it's nice to see a lower-quality/low-res rendition in my opinion. Does it fit the game though? Perhaps the real question is: Will it fit the colouring pallette good enough? If we say "It doesn't really matter, because there portraits in the U.I and inventory" nut history has proven only otherwise. Will we not be able to import our own portraits? And if so, will the game automatically use it's rendering technology to filter it in a like portrait for a desimilar result? I don't see why it wouldn't, it should, to make things fit correspondently and minutally. Hopefully this is the case.
