  1. I'm pretty sure she was. 16 or something. She'd have to be if KOTOR stuck to Star Wars canon. They rarely take old padawans remember? Anyway, this thread is dumb. I will bet money that ME2 does not kill off Shepard.
  2. It would be sort of jarring to transition directly from the end of ME to your character being presumed dead in ME2. They'd have to restore things to their previous equilibrium in short order.
  3. dun dun dunnnnnn pretty cool teaser. Cool concept art too.
  4. Dear Obsidz Next week it will have been a full month since AP last got some press coverage (if the front page is any indication) Ur doin it wrong For gods sake hurry it up already Regards the internet
  5. According to the official tweeter, the first drafts of the AP manual have been produced. From that information we can surmise that most if not all of the game mechanics have been nailed down. Progress!
  6. That was a rhetorical question I think.
  7. They don't get kidnapped in the first hour of being in Paris after being specifically warned about this sort of thing from their fathers who just happen to have spy equipment laying around their house. Also it's fairly inconvenient that on his first day of security work, a major security breach occurs and the person he's assigned to protect gets attacked by a stalker. Dude is cosmically unlucky.
  8. I've been playing a Diablo 2 mod, Eastern Suns. It overhauls the game in a lot of key ways - New inventory system, new skill trees, new areas, all that jazz. It's fun, and difficult, and you level up a whole lot faster. You'll be level 6 by the time you get out of the Den of Evil.
  9. It's all pretty implausible.
  10. People seem to be more concerned about video game sex than movie sex or the like for much the same reasons they seem to be more concerned about video game violence over movie violence or the like - the player's degree of control over the game is thought to include a vicarious aspect to the game. GTA is supposed to have some affect on a kid's propensity for or view of crime etc. etc. And in this Monte Carlo's sort of proven right, because the fear that playing a game might make kids want to have sex is a pretty American sort of fear. Most places wouldn't deny that it's really the kids' bodies that are controlling them in that regard. But there are good reasons for not including sex in games, most of which I think have been touched on in the myriad other threads on this subject. Video game writing just isn't that great. It rarely rises above the level of pulp fiction. And sex in pulp fiction has a propensity for being exploitative more than anything.

  12. I wouldn't call it broken, just completely uninteresting. You could even see the responses you couldn't choose, for christ's sake. Even Jade Empire's system was better, and Jade Empire's character creation was the worst Bioware has ever produced.
  13. I'd see that film. Better than Monopoly or whatever the **** else Scott feels like chatting up.
  14. MCA has expressed that he has particularly enjoyed writing technical dialogue used by PCs of a certain skill, so we know there will be that, at least, and that's quite a step up from ME. ME's dialogue skill system was highly unsophisticated.
  15. I hope they keep it as groin-grabbingly hard as the first game. The difficulty is what made it a true horror game. Games that allow you to repeatedly fail are rare enough as it is.
  16. According to the official Obsidz twitter, they hosted press and filmed another dev diary last week. So new stuff should be forthcoming.
  17. Just watch Akira. It'll make less sense, but it's more fun. And scarier.
  18. Update your twitter you sluts
  19. Depends on your model. If you've got an old one, then yes. Backwards compatible PS3s were produced at one time but they've been phased out.
  20. Is there an action queue? I didn't see one. Without one it would be sort of difficult to micromanage combat without it slowing to a crawl.
  21. Unpolished, but still, that doesn't look like it's any fun at all.
  22. FFS Can we have at least one RPG before July
  23. The concept art and environmental screenies we've seen certainly put AP above, say, DX:IW. And UE3 can handle large spaces. Just look at the sidequest planets in ME. Sure, they were fairly sparse, but they required a good amount of time to explore, even more time if you got out of the MAKO. It looks like we've got some explorable Z-axis depth in AP, which seems to be uncommon in UE3 games. That should open up the environments to a good degree.
  24. It still blows my mind that non-MMO players aren't bothered by the extraordinary levels of grind in the Witcher. Just not my type of game I guess!
