  1. I've got it loaded on Steam, so. Anybody feel like taking advantage of the $16 discount on L4D2 entering into a 4-pack deal with me? I will require $34 transferred via paypal, at which point I will gift a copy to you. Includes early access to the demo and a new baseball bat you can apparently use.
  2. Anybody playing the flash game? It's an effective time waster but otherwise unremarkable.
  3. From what I understand, the PC version of the game was finished months ago but the 360 version was unfinished, and the desire for simultaneous release is what caused the delay. We are not aware of any such arrangement with Alpha Protocol.
  4. It sounds to me like they're charging to go to places you otherwise would have to work through in the game. Like if Bioware offered to bring your character to the Underdark in BG2 for a few bucks. You'd get there even if you didn't pay but it eliminates the hassle of, you know, playing the game. That is assuming that the areas in question aren't DLC. It's not entirely clear from the quote. If they aren't, that tells us 3 things about Molyneux and Fable 3, things that we should already know, really. 1. The narrative is an optional framing device for the game experience. Fable 3 is either sandbox or episodic in its setup. 2. The game design abhors difficulty in all its forms (duh) 3. Giving players instant gratification is important. I'd wager that these are the reasons why Fable is the most popular RPG franchise ever created (I think?) but then, I'm also pretty sure the National Enquirer gets better circulation than the Economist.
  5. Porn is not even that.
  6. It's pretty obvious from the screenies that there aren't that many shaders, though, especially in close-up.
  7. "Early Spring" should be March or early April. At least according to the months considered Spring by Wikipedia.
  8. So maybe they'll actually give this game some marketing, then!
  9. My question is, was the bar open?
  10. Yeah, but that doesn't really account for the lack of min/maxing potential. For a character creation system as simple as DA's I don't actually think it's a big deal. I mean in D&D you could build out a high-dex fighter right off the bat. That sort of choice doesn't seem to make much sense in DA. The actual facial customization is pretty dang nice, actually. Unlike a lot of systems you can make faces that actually look decent.
  11. Yeah, the strategy bits look pretty sketchy (I thought the "strategy" aspect of Overlord 2 blew chunks) but there also seems to be a good deal of open-world exploration on a custom hotrod, so it balances out. But yeah, not feeling the strategy angle.
  12. Yeah, it's one of those things where outmoded tech really shows its usefulness. However, running a radio frequency takes a lot of power. I don't think this is really an issue as power generation and construction goes largely unexplained in Fallout (where it is addressed, there appears to be an abundance of functioning nuclear power) Still, it's a little ludicrous that people would be able to set up their own repeating signals out in the wastes. One thing I think would be kind of nifty to see is the strengthening of radio signals at night, due to changes in the atmosphere during an absence of sunlight. It's a really interesting meteorological phenomenon. There could be signals that you can only pick up in a certain place during the night.
  13. I think what he means is that the game is that hard, and that it would be amusing to see people trying to get through the game with permadeath. They wouldn't get very far.
  14. Actually Sega is known for its silence when it comes to production issues.
  15. Dialogue in this game doesn't look QTE-ish because there's not supposed to be a "correct" sequence. I don't like QTEs because often they're not really implemented smoothly. They're either rote marathons (as in the latter half of Indigo Prophecy) or they're cut in with regular gameplay, which makes them exceedingly difficult to master given the pace of the game and the abruptness with which they appear (Prototype and the like)
  16. I know that the KOTOR2 Restoration Project had some little download you could implement that replaced the Nihilus / Visas introduction video with a higher-quality in-game rendering. Beyond that, no idea.
  17. Tell us something Rorie.
  18. It's about as official as the Aliens game was. Which is to say, they haven't come out and said it's delayed, but they're not denying it and their sites are showing it, which is as good of indication as any. So shut up.
  19. I blame Rorie. It's been nothing but calamity since he joined. Throw Rorie overboard.
  20. Won't someone think of the children?
  21. Let us not forget the tragedy of Darkwing Duck.
  22. Probably Disney, upon realizing that the Disney Kingdom IP is popular with families, and that the Wii is also popular with families. Overwhelmingly so. Exclusivity was probably decided when they realized you couldn't replicate desired gameplay mechanics on systems without motion detection. This could be one of those rare AAA titles to really crack the Wii market.
  23. Basically it's a Wii platformer in which you have certain power over the environment. In the gates, barely visible, is Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, a largely forgotten Disney character created about a year before Steamboat Willie made his debut. Reportedly, the game involves you taking on the persona of Oswald, who seeks to dethrone Mickey as the cornerstone of the Disney Kingdom.
  24. You put the scribbial combobulator in the gramalellophone and *whoosh* some Zazzles, ready to do your bidding.
