Dudes, Total Recall all over again. More to the point of the thread, I'm looking forward to the game's release. I don't happen to think that 24 is such a bad show, and I never really expected Bioware to be heavy on hard-core roleplaying. As so many have pointed out, they never really have. I'd be happy for another deceptively linear epic in the Baldur's Gate mold. And if they're going to show ****, they might as well have the game's enemies be something other than sentient robots. Why have nudity when you can have gore? Are they only releasing this game in Europe?

Summering up here in Michigan. The last time I was here was a little over 10 years ago, and I was listening to the Basketball Diaries soundtrack, heavy on drugged-out grunge music and Jim Carroll spoken-word pieces. So far as I'm aware, here in America new evidence, even that which exonerates a defendant, is not both necessary and sufficient to warrant a retrial. Can't imagine why. Maybe they're afraid of legal gridlock.

JJ Abrams was the first person in big media to figure out that kids at computers with Asperger's and OCD make extremely cost-effective billboards. Even better than shmoozing Harry Knowles for good press. This is only a continuation of that. The underlying story is rarely all that effective by itself. All the fun's in the reveal. David Lynch learned that the hard way with his mysterious TV show.

After playing (and losing) with the Human Hive oh so many years ago, I have returned to it and royally beat ass. Every base, queue up: defender, former, colony pod. Within the first hundred years I had over 40 prosperous colonies, not including the Spartan and Believer factions I conquered. Clean Reactors make things way too easy. I ended up just calling council and electing myself supreme leader, as my votes accounted for over 75% of the totals. I might have to pick up Civ 4 at some point, but I doubt it'll run on this rickety '04 laptop.

They're pimping Lovecraft's vaguely mystical style of writing (the stars are right, etc etc) for this, it's led some to believe it's a CoC movie, but chances are it's a Smoke Monster kinda thing.

I don't care if they were Bioware's pets from pnp or not. I'm saddled with them now. Hmmm, perhaps you can deal us in a bit, eh? I've wanted to play through BG with Khalid, but I've always dropped him for better fighters.

I don't think LA would do it in-house, not with their recent financial troubles. They said they're cutting it down to 2 (or thereabouts) games a year. There's a new SW action game, and isn't there another lego game on the horizon? And with that, I'm off to Michigan for 2 weeks.

They should institute a minigame that kicks in every time the g/f asks if something makes her ass look fat, with the difficulty being determined by how much weight the object actually adds. Success yields a successful lie.

I'd agree that his descriptive writing is pretty good, but that was out of necessity, to make up for the lack of meaningful dialogue. Had he not his powers of description his actual writing (as opposed to world-building) would be beyond salvage. I still prefer Derleth, mostly. I need to branch out farther and farther away from that nucleus of mythos writers.

Lovecraft couldn't write for ****, especially dialogue. He was the George Lucas of his day, writing conversations that made it blaringly obvious that the author had very little experience with them. All of the best mythos stuff was penned by friends and contemporaries. The Great Old Ones wikipedia page is quite entertaining.

I wasn't aware KOTOR was a trilogy. Or are all Star Wars properties parts of trilogies?
