Why we love
I was thinking that perhaps there might have been some larger context not represented in the article, some subtle difference not expressed. Or perhaps they weren't allowed to lump similar answers together, as that could be considered data manipulation.

Why we love
Erm, what would be the "smart" answer?

interview with a jihadi
I'd dispute point 3. Freedom of the Press only extends to government interference. It doesn't protect a newspaper from the ill will of the public, nor does it immunize a newspaper from criticism. If direct pressure on the newspaper doesn't yield a desired apology, then applying pressure elsewhere, such as with a boycott of Danish goods, is acceptable in the pursuit of said apology. The point of a boycott would be to persuade Danish private enterprise to join the protesters in demanding an apology in the interests of returning business to normal. Arabs have no obligation to partake of Danish goods. They crossed the line with the violence, not the boycott.

Why we love
It's interesting looking at parts of the list, and the variety of ways people feel about "it". Coercion is #24 and 25, which is scary. Some people do it for the sake of it, a surprising amount of reasons have to do with material gain or status. Also scary, #169.

Then either you haven't gotten to the right point yet or you got to the dialogue and neglected to choose the right options. Or your game is buggy, which is very, very possible.

What are you doing
There's already a thread for playing video games.

Why we love
Check it out. 237 stated motivations for doing the deed, gathered during a University of Texas study. Expression of love is #14. Boredom is #3. Genetic imperative is #180. Intent to punish self is #148. Good for some chuckles.

Nothing suspicious, that's for sure.

I find Bao-Dur, with the exception of whatever love interest you have concurrent to your gender, as the easiest person to gain influence with. Just act in a manner befitting a light-side character. Talk to Bao-Dur about the war, say things that sound good. Don't say the Mandalorians deserved destruction. Compliment him. Act loyal. There's a few areas on Dxun where you can gain influence with him. There's a Mandalorian stuck up on a ridge. Help him down, and when Bao-Dur asks you about it, say "We're all veterans. He didn't deserve to die like that." Big influence gain. I actually just played with Atton and Bao-Dur through Telos straight to Nar Shadaa and ended up training them both as jedi at the same time while in the Refugee camp, after you confront Atton about his past. Continue "training" with Handmaiden to get her to jedi up, tag Mira along until you get enough influence, and by the end of the game your entire non-droid party will be lightside jedi.

I don't think there's extra content. The PC version has the benefit of those few patches, which might allow some content that was previously bugged out. Plus, better graphix. The Academy on Telos seems to contain game-killing bugs in both versions, however.

Well, you can tell the Democrats are in power again!
Corruption in Louisiana is like womanizing in Italy - it's expected from their public officials.

What are you playing now?
Playing through KOTOR2 again, started as a Sentinel, multiclassed into Weapon Master. Maxed out light side, like always. To make things more interesting I've decided to focus on using Mira and T3 rather than my usual Bao-Dur + whichever fighter (my high skillset helps alleviate the absence of Bao-Dur). Already I'm noticing several cutscenes that I've never seen before in the Ebon Hawk, but I can't tell if this is because I didn't go to the Ebon Hawk enough before or because I'm doing things slightly different. I've already multiclassed Bao-Dur and Atton into Jedi, but I was wondering, can you get Mira to multiclass? The reason I'm having her tag along is so I can gain enough influence to do so. I've never done it before. Maybe I should focus on the Handmaiden.

Whatev. I found the KOTOR2 NPCs more satisfying than Planescape's anyhow.

Movies You Have Seen Lately
And they're holding off the real Earthsea (made by Miyazaki's son) for a few years so this can play out. Disney sucks.

There is a God, and he had another son. Best use of the words "Oh ****!" as a musical refrain... ever.

Real Breaking News: Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer
So did Avellone write this one obsessively as well? Was he even involved? (I thought he was devoting his time to Alienz) Otherwise the Torment name-dropping would be a tad odd.

They've been throwing Planescape comparisons around for awhile now.

What game would you rather see Obsidian work on
I'd rather have an Arrested Development RPG, using AD&D rules.

Well, you can tell the Democrats are in power again!
For all its shadowy cabalitude (mark it, Webster) I really don't think all the holdovers from the Bush I presidency (and further back from there, the Nixon cabinet) intended to be executive officers for as long as possible. For the professional politician, after your term limits are up there are usually appointed positions, think tanks, NGOs, IGOs, and private enterprise to occupy you. No doubt they would do their part to ensure Republican control of the government, but I'd think Cheney and co. would be more than happy with desk jobs at the National Security Council. Tom Delay, on the other hand, there's a guy who won't go quietly into the night. I'd be more concerned about string-pulling in Russia. I confess that I don't know much about the way Russian politics works (are the Chief Executives appointed, as in a parliamentary system, or are they elected?) but all signs point to Putin in effect hand-picking his successor once he leaves office. And to say that lobbyists are controlled by the government seems a tad queer to me. I suppose it sort of makes sense in an S&M kind of way. The dom's the one making all the demands but it's the sub's choice whether or not he/she wants to indulge them, and thus it's the sub who has the power.

nwn expansion q&a
The "soul collection" is an interesting addition to the crafting system. How exactly does it work? Are they components that you mix with other reagents to create magic items or are they "slot" enhancements like the KOTOR2 overlays/underlays/etc.?

Big Brother 8
Any show that can make an aspiring politician bark like a dog is alright by me. Still, it can't beat PIRATE ****ING MASTER.
