Just opened up another playthrough and checked drawn in spring. Wounding defeintely is not stacking. Combat log just shows the timer counting down and then getting topped up again with every strike. Eg Drawn is spring 3.4sec And then when you hit Drawn in spring 5sec You should check the total damage done. You hit twice one of your companions and you check the health lost. If the health lost is equal to the damage from the logs then the wounding stacks. just checked as far as I can tell it is not stacking. Its also very hard to tell hitting a companion because your companions health resets so quick. It also shows it very plainly in the combat log that it is not stacking (when in combat vs enemies) it would not reset the timer of the previous wound if not the case.

Rogues could be better scroll users then wizards but generally they have low instelligence and there skill points are put into mechanics instead of lore. Pretty rare to build a rogue with high intelligence and lore just to take advantage of the death blows synergy. Attributes and skill points better spent elsewhere IMO

Take Nghtshroud for example. The Lead up to it is awesome; Start of white march expansion; forgotten dwarven fortress; lost treasury discovered; absolutely beautiful weapon discovered in exciting cirmumstances:) and then it just goes down hill from there: - spell chance of blind which is its major feature but only goes off roughly 1 in every 20 times you attack with it -restricted only to rogue and priest - you have to level it up Seriously WTF!!! If I was living in stalwart village and there was a door In my house that kept blowing shut in the wind I would now have the perfect door stop for it.

There are no really hard challenges in the game after a full party of 6 hits about level 11 unfortunately. If you got a druid and your using relentless storm it makes it even worse. My current playthrough all my guys are level 13 (with a druid using storms) and I have no further interest in finishing the game because has become way to easy. Im never rolling a druid again. Am im probably going to try and solo the game for now on

You are not correct. Abydons hammer might +4 stacks over and above everything I don't no where you got that from. It also comes with a per encounter long duration area of effect stun that happens to be the most powerful ability BY FAR of any weapon (apart from redeemer and vessels) The main concerns I have with soulbounds: -'the 10% proc rate on hit/ crit is to low - the proc can be resisted with a save - you have to level up some of these weapons nearly right at the end of the game. The unlaboured blade for example is not worth it. - by the time you take into consideration that they only proc on hits/ crits and not grazes and that the proc can be resisted with a save the actual effective PROC rate is something like 4-5%. That's means the weapons proc about 1 in every 20 times you attack with them. Barbarians and rangers can make better use of them but everyone else doesn't have much need for them.

I found the soulbound weapons very underwhelming in pillars 1 and I personally think the devs where a out of touch with the players expectations in delivering unique weapons: Unlaboured blade: was ok until the 3% nerf. Absolutely no point in going through the painful level up process with it after the nerf especially so late in the game. 0/10 Abydons hammer: finally a taste of raw power. Great spin off of Thor's hammer . 8/10 Nightshroud: the 10% proc on hit or crit rarely went off. Even if the proc did go enemies still got a save that could negate it. Immunity to blind hardly ever needed. 3/10 Stormcaller : good early to mid game then the relentless storm proc usefulness dies off after that. Pity only ranger can make good use out of it, 6/10 Steadfast: this sword is another huge let down for so late in the game. Sunlance proc for paladin at 15% is best ability. Fear/ terrify immunity not all that helpful. Another underwhelming late game weapon. 4/10 The redeemer: best soulbound by far. Makes any combat vs vessels trivial. Perhaps to powerful a weapon. 9/10 Grey sleeper: ok mid game weapon. 15% chance paralyse or twin stones. 5/10 Twin sting: ok but there are alot off late game war bows that provide far better options. 4/10

I would say lvl 16 because spellcasters might want to use all spell levels. Picking a level in between might be tricky because some abilities are peaks of power (like Heart of Fury, Sacred Immolation, Deathblows and so on) and picking the max level would be the easiest way to determine every class build is fully developed. If we wanted to be superthorough we could do encounters at lvl 4, 8 and 16 for example. But you can already see that this would be bad for chanters. Maybe 5, 9 and 16 - would be bad for rogues... And the finer the grid the more work and fuzz. It's tricky. So I would suggest lvl 16 - seems to be the most easiest way. Nalrend encounter has a TON of endurance to reduce, a lot of damage and ACC and low defenses. It favours sturdy builds with high damage potential but not too high accuracy (like Dragon Thrashed chanter for example). But I still like it. Just saying. It's my number one testing encounter for builds, so maybe that's not fair. The Banter has been thoroughly enjoyable but why don't we make it slightly more on topic......or is that off topic........im confused. What do you @Boeroer think is the most powerful build you can possibly build in the the game. Mine is the fire priest. and I don't want any what about this or that just straight out give me your most powerful build for overall Power. Im talking Drizzt or Elminster style

This. There's no free lunch. While the idea itself is rather cool, my intuition is that this would not be an overly easy-to-implement feature. Recording, playback, storage of recordings, UI. People would clamour for controls (rewind, fast forward, ...) as well. Lots of effort for very specialized functionality. I just don't think the benefit outweighs the cost here. But when you think about it as it stands, eg pillars 1 technology, you can't even view a battle that has taken place because it is paused 90% of the time. I've never really realised that and now i have it just seems so strange that you can't watch a battle with no pause. Would be like watching an action movie/ cartoon

Well Im going to be disappointed then. I reckon Josh and his team would absolutely be trying to replicate the success off BG2 with Deadfire. Pillars 1 was a far better game then BG1 so there is the potential there IMO for deadfire to be better then BG2. the only way they wlll do that is if they create an truly immersive world and they don't dumb it down

I think the dumbing down of tyranny did effect its sales. The review sites are flooded with reviews saying how mindless and boring the combat was. I think that, compared with it being a "dumbed down" 4 member party put off a lot of people. A lot of the core POE fans (me included) where keenly following tyranny hoping that it would be the equivalent of an extension of pillars, or even better, better then pillars. I was hugely let down when I played it. And so where the 1,000,000 odd Pillars fans when they read the reviews about the combat and magic systems tyranny implemented. The numbers speak for themselves. 160,000 purchases on steam over this time period is a complete flop and a commercial failure.

Eveyone will be keenly watching Deadfire to see if it will be as impactful as the second game in the baldurs gate series. Baldurs Gate 2 style. That is what the devs should be aiming for. If they can pull that off they hands down win the game Witcher 3 had a budget of 85 million dollars. Pillars im assuming has a budget of around 5-10million. You can see the problem here.

What Do You guys think? Imagine if as soon as you entered combat the game started recording the battle and after the battle finished you had the option of watching the battle again but without any pauses in it. A recorded replay of the battle but without watching any of the pauses. That would be awesome. Would be so quick and action packed.

This is very interesting. It's looking like the so called " new generation " of CRPGS eg pillars , tyranny and torment aren't really doing that well apart from pillars and divinity OS. I'm no game finance expert but you would think tyranny and torment would be lucky to break even. If those torment figures include the copies that where given away to the backers then it is looking like torment was a complete disaster. This is good and bad. The good part is hopefully if more crpgs are made the games will be more like pillars. The bad news is developers may give up on them again and try and pursue bigger profits with games that appeal more to the masses.
