Kana grew on me. I liked that he was scholarly. Always seemed like a level head. He might have been underdeveloped but his connection with the Endless Paths makes him all the more interesting. Considering both his interest in this mysterious place, and what we now know about it and it's place in relation to the main path. Yeah i'm not saying I didn't like him. I just found the other characters more interesting (apart from Sagani).

Ydwin is by far the most interesting to me. Why does she have to be the only one we may not get? Also really interested to meet Maia though, while Kana was probably one of the least interesting companions to me I do remember him talking about his cool sea captain sister so yeah. she seems cool, Also the moon godlike but we don't really know anything about him yet.

I seem to remember there being some ranger dialogue choices, tho I haven't played one so I don't really know what they were. I think Ciphers got a lot because their abilities are kind of more suited to interacting with individuals. Wizards got a lot too where as I don't remember my Druid getting anything much.

To be fair a companion is a lot of writing/V.O and there is going to be more of all of that for the companions in this game than in the last so I can see why it's the last goal. Still, Tyranny got a lot of criticism for only having six companions and POE got a bit for only having eight. If the game launches with less companions than the last it may get some flack for that from critics. Maybe sidekicks will help a bit with that though. I didn't think 8 companions was that bad considering they had a lot more writing than any of the companions really did in the BG games.

Ydwin needs to happen, really like the concept art of her and an Animancer companion is something I thought the last game should have had. The talking sword in BG was funny but I didn't use it for very long, don't really care about that stretch goal. Still it's a step closer to a cool animancer/harry potter elf. Anyway we're about to hit thye next goal.

I wasn't around for the project eternity campaign but apparently there was a simmilar add on or whatever for dlc, was it called the "expansion pass" when they did the campaign? Because it was only available to buy on Steam when they announced the white march expansion, so it makes sense to call it that there.
-
Yeah, pretty much all expansions are DLC now because they don't need to make a whole seperate disk for them now so why would they? We don't know what the DLC will consist of because Obsidian doesn't know themselves (or claim not to) at this point. Like really huge expansions aren't exactly common these days so I doubt we will see anything like that but the White March expansion packs were reasonable in my opinion. So maybe it will be something simmilar in length to that?

I do agree with the criticism's of the keep. It was a very nice base of operations but mechanically it was a mess and it just felt so lifeless. At least we know that for example the upgrades we can make on the ship will actually be useful in the game. For example how encounters go may depend on how upgraded your cannons and sails are.

I don't really see how this is a problem. The game rewards you for doing some "good" things and some "bad" things. The point of roleplaying is to do the things you think your character would do, and not do the things you don't think the character would do. If you are making certain choices just to get rewarded then that is not going to be the best roleplaying experience, unless you can find some way to justify why your character would make those choices. Like pillars didn't treat morality as a black and white thing anyway, different factions and npcs had different ideas about what the "right thing to do" was.
