  1. I'm using Expert mode too and have no meta-info [supposedly] displayed under the settings yet it still shows spell radius, distance, etc when using spells/abilities and I can see monster immunities and buffs on their tooltip.
  2. Based on all the discussions in this thread it sure would be nice if we could get a text dump of the combat log, huh?
  3. No, but I'm not sure, could be wrong. I suggest you search for keywords like "log" in the Q&A transcripts. Yuck!
  4. Hi, it's me again, the Central Scruuuuuuuu-tinizer and was wondering if the development team has talked about [us being able to] log combat data to textual files?
  5. It's been a couple months since I swung by these forums. Any news if this will be a feature for us combat loggers/data miners?
  6. It's not at all abhorrent. Sounds like a sensible option to me. I'd like to see them take it even further and provide an optional After Action Report with different levels of detail. But I know that wouldn't be a priority. Thanks, every year or two I decide to sit down and learn a new coding language [as a hobby these past few years] and this year I decided on python. Being PoE1 didn't have the option to log out to a text a file I had to turn to other games I could produce large datasets and decided on EQ2 (which amazingly was very fun until I was beyond level ~80). The reason I did this is because I often learn a programming language by parsing raw log files into a data base. Often I use my SpeedFan or apache log files but parsing combat logs is a whole lot more interesting and can provide reliable information back into the community about combat mechanics... plus I often share to program and source. Of course there a times developers rather not allow the community to know too much about combat mechanics because the clarion call to balance [skills, spells, passives, etc] can become quite the menace on forums; so there's that too.
  7. Curious if this is still an abhorrent idea to most in the community? Would it be incredibly complex for there to be an option to [X] Log to Text File?
  8. A $750 backer picked a terrible moment to pull out Now, that's kind of funny. Hope it doesn't happen often though. =) Pretty sure it won't show up for a couple/few days.
  9. I'm sure a fair number of people that pledge like to do so near the end; instead of waiting for several weeks for the charge to hit their accounts. Personally, I'd pledge at the end too because when I buy something or send money I want that to happen *at least* within a week, preferably the same day, therefore many others (probably!) want the same process. The last and final day there will be a huge surge I'm sure.
  10. There ya go. Lists [of some type]. Now that wasn't so bad, was it? =)
  11. Yes, lore books that we can find (rare) or maybe buy (very rare). Through narrative an NPC can tell us some about a certain monster or specie (uncommon). Beast Lore as a skill that as your character levels it up it opens up more about monsters (so Beast Lore 6 would open 40% of all common and uncommon monsters and 10 would open 100% of uncommon and common and 40% of rare and very rare monsters). And, still incorporate number of monsters defeated towards entries (small percentage like 2-3%) Anyways, yes it makes sense the way it is now BUT it doesn't exactly help because by the time it's helpful we are already aware most of the time [of what needs to be done, or not done].
  12. The obviously are adding that much more content which is fantastic if they were going to only, originally, 16. Must be all those new Flavor Flav islands
  13. I'm pretty sure they already did Sub-classes and now they're doing more? What does this mean? Will class building rest on a needle point or will playing a character a have core (read: broad) class feeling?
  14. Or the ultimate adversary: a rules-lawyer. That player can not be beat and you have ta gather you character sheet and handbooks in hopeless defeat.
  15. Don't you want strategy guides on the Sergent Fancypants and the Lookie-loo Ninja class combos? =)
  16. Well, at least, a small list of what you think their time should be spent on is kind of required after making that statement, yes?
  17. This is often the core reason why successful games anything's are successful. Once community has opinions AND creators try to incorporate and appease too many in the community of polls and opinions the entire entity/project/theory/reason/product becomes diluted and less meaningful. One of the easier ways to define which side you lean towards is to ask yourself if you have a top three favorite bands or a top three favorite genres of music. The "I like all kinds of music" crowd tends to want their whatever it is their way. The "the this band is the best" understands why they're the best band for them personally. Anyways I hope they don't rush this game too much! When it comes to the stage it'll the dream theater I've been looking for--though I hope I don't get zappa'd too much for this reply.
  18. I do! I mean, just look at 'im... he's got huge sharp... he can leap about... LOOK at the BONES!!!
  19. The way I'll think of it when I'm playing is the cast/use of the empowered spell/ability is it's three levels higher. Nothing more, nothing less. Then I don't need to overthink it and just use it in dire circumstances or I just want to go nuclear for my own jollies. I know such a tyrant! ~cheers~
  20. Indeed, I very much look forward to the Core Rulebooks now. My gaming table will be very happy.
