Does your cipher have whispers of treason? It is a very strong spell... apply it to one of the stronger enemies. as he will then fight his friends, but weakened (this is what is meant by charmed, and it is the difference to dominated: dominated enemies fight for you with the same stats). This is a great situation: The weakened strong enemy kills other enemies, while the other enemies have a higher chance of inflicting some nice damage (because he is weakened) to him.

I have added an section introducing the wizard, priest and druid class. What do we think of this format? Maybe I could add one or two high level spells or abilities per class... Sort of as "appetisers". Would mean I had to determine determine what spells should be presented... Ideas or suggestions?

I soloed Cail the silent on hard with an lvl8 chanter. Those who play Pillars will understand. Other than that I needed to finish some work. In retrospektive, seems like an eventless day.

Don't use durance only for healing... his other spells are far to valuable. The lvl2 spell consengrated ground will cover you for healing. I'd rather focus on buffs/debuffs. I'm sadly incapable to download the savegame right now... What chants does kana have? What class is fara? Stat of your two customs? What spells do you use most with aloth? As a rule over the thumb, it is always better to weaken the enemy first if you can not simply overpower him. So maybe for the order of spells go with something like Buff allies->Debuff enemies->damage enemy. And finally, don't be frustrated... Lvl 4 is quite early to tackle raedric.

You think that is the worst part? In his spell review for the wizad, combusting wounds is under the "junk" category And call to slumber is apparently as well junk...

A man only needs a gun to defend himself if an other man has a gun as well. The declaration of independence states the same principles that the constitution is set on, but sounds nicer. About your murderer: A mans freedom ends where another mans freedom begins.

Cool... Well see how we develop the issue of classes. Right now (edit: should have been this evening, will be tomorrow morning) I'll give an overview, and mark it as WIP. if anyone wants to contribute, please do so. But remain as objektive as possible. I think the "hidden gems section" might work out better... contributers don't need to write for ever and ever, but the result will be (somewhat) similar. "Hidden gems" would obviously be sorted by class. But if there is a demand for full on guides I'll see what I can do.

Any help is greatly appreciated But I want to avoid creating a guide like nerdcommando's on steam, that gives the impression all classes must be build that or that way or they suck.

There will be a huge problem when doing that when it comes to staying objektive. Also, considering class guides have already been done to perfection on these forums, I doubt the guide could live up to that standard. And even if, what is the sense in having the same guide twice? But what I can perfectly imagine is a basic overview over the classes and maybe a "hidden gems" section where there is knowledge about spells and abilities collected that may not be obvious at first. I'd definitley need help with that though HOWEVER if you have something you'd like to add do so!! It will be used in one way or another

The problem is not time, it is qualification I am by no means an expert on every single class. I will start a basic overview over the classes later today or tomorrow... So for example stats, playstyle, focus of abilties/spells, role in a party and so on. But if there is a demand for a more detailed guide around here (rather than the actual guides), then yes, help would be appreciated. But wouldn't that sort of create a competition beteween the guide annd the builds list? Because that is something I want to avoid... Shouldn't we leave the build guides to the build guides?

Look, another thing we agree on: let's forget religion. Look, a whole bunch of things we disagree on. By prohibiting abortion you will disable victims of rape to abort they're child. By prohibiting abortion you will disable poor women who did not intend to get pregnant from aborting the child. That woman may not be able to afford her own life, needless to say that of a child's. So, rather than saving one life by prohibiting abortion, you are ruining two lifes: that of the mother who needs to witness her child growing up in agony, and the child who grows up in agony itself. By prohibiting abortion you will disable women who carry children with a major genetic disorder firm aborting the child. So, what kind of existence are you saving? You may save a exitence, but you destroy potentially two, three, four or however big a family may be lifes. And one of those destroyed lifes, and in some cases the most destroyed life, is the one you were so keen on saving. Aside from no one can pinpoint from where exactly life begins, there you have the crux of the problem. As carriers of life, it's ultimately the responsibility of the woman for bringing the child to this world. By extension is it not then society's moral duty to nurture values for women to make sure that they pick partners who can provide for them safety, both financially and emotionally, so that any child, accidental or not, is brought to this world with minimal suffering? And for the men to be virtuous and choose women who have these values when they look a partner for their future family that they have to provide? Sadly these kinds of discussions have been pushed away from pop-culture and can only be found in the domain of the religious. yes, but sadly our society does not do so. So, how should the woman choose right now? I'm atheist btw...

Hirelings & Stronghold Quests..
Ben No.3 replied to Isaea's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I believe you can even "visit" them... if I remember correcctly, they will stand around in the barracks once you build them (haven't checked that in a while though), while your unused companions are in their respective rooms. -
Yeah, only moderators can do that. Drop a PM to Pidesco; he's helping me maintain the build list thread Thank you very much

I'm afraid that's not longer your choice. We have committed you to writing a comprehensive guide to everything beginnery in PoE. Alright alright BUT: This guide is aimed at INTRODUCING new comers to the game... Not as a reference for those who already play it for quite some time. And while I agree I should give an introduction to all basic aspects of the game, I will not go ahead and give information where there is more confusion than help. I hope you understand that.

Update: added section on buff stacking rules. The section is not complete yet, but works as a general orientation. Also added short note on sumins and traps that might be helpful... took me quite some time to figure out how many traps or summons could be used when I started the game. A giant list? Oh god.... I guess it would make sense, but I'm not trying to create a wiki, I'm trying to create a basic guide for a newcomer But debuff stacking... I always assumed they work by the same rules? No? Why did no one tell me? Anyway, I think I'm gonna focus first on giving a overview over the classes (could turn out controvercial, so I will need to be careful) and take a small break from stacking rules. I will probably get back to that (mumbels inaudible, but annoyed) after I#ve done classes overview, but if you have anything that you think I should specifically add, go ahead EDIT: What might be a possibility is to add a list of the "most confusing boni", but I'm afraid I lack the insight to create such a list

Yeah, I've spend some time with stacking rules and there clearly are some general rules as you said. Gonna update it right now. But there are also exeptions... For example an upgraded holy radiance (+10 acc, +2 all attributes, +2 move speed) stacks with everything. So, if anyone knows what these exeptions are and if they follow a rule, please tell me. About classes... I wanted to avoid giving specific builds, both because there are so many excellent ones already and because I do not think I am in a position to do so. But yeah, maybe I can add a section about the role of every class in a party and about where it's abilities are generally heading.

For the moon godlikes.... Maybe. But every other godlike is pretty well executed in my opinion. The nature godlike looks good (especially the one male one... You know which one), the fire godlike looks good (especially the one female one) and the death godlike look exactly as disturbing as they should be.
