  1. Pffff... I say we do a petition for the inclusion of whips (speed boost) and brass knuckles (two damage types)...
  2. Oh, when I'm travelling, I need to use my laptop with intel graphics.... Yeah, I go down to 720p and lowest graphics but I can't even batlle any sort of spellcaster properly. Heck, even some blights are suddendly though
  3. Only around 30% of the youngest voters, those most supportive of the EU, voted. If there would have been more, they could have potentially turned the vote.
  4. Spiked brass knuckles with crush/pierce damage... That would indeed be awesome And a unique one with DR bypass. And another unique one "pitfighter's knuckle dusters" with wounding. And "robber's knuckles" with increased damage against enemies with expensive armour.
  5. If we use an atheist priest, keep it simple and don't use any spells that have "faith" "prayer" or "holy" in them, I'd say
  6. Oh yeah, the only dragon fight I always used sagani for... Poor Itumaak. I luckly don't have the fps problem... I build a PC with a nice graphics card... Aaaaand rarely ever played anything but Pillars on it. A complete waste of power? Yes definitley. Would I rather play something else? Hell no (Tyranny and PoE2 aren't out yet, so)
  7. Well said! And indeed, I've had dragons swiping the floor with my party cause my first few attempts were simply "nuke the hell out of that".... Yeah, not very efficient. But then I found strategies.... I decided to create an fighter custom companion with eders armour and tons of different missile scrolls. I send him in first, drawin all the aggro until he died.In the mean time, I buffed up my party, and when the attention turned to the party, it was prepared. At some point, the fighter was revived by the armour and spammed the scrolls from behind... In retrospective, it was a strange, inefficient and kind of cheesy approach, but I felt like the god of strategic thinking at the time And just to clarify, we are talking about the "dragon" the xauripps of the endless paths on level 2 were praising... Ah... the memories
  8. NOOOOOOOOO.... Not the stacking rules.... At some point, but not now. Hopefully until the end of the week, but that subject needs more... time If anyone wants to contribute, I'm happy. Save me from my work? No? Well, damn...
  9. I've always found the wael priests to be the most fun to roleplay... so many fun things to say
  10. Maybe you can answwr her more with the philosopher BG? Don't know... never played one that far. Waelian thinking is certainly awesome
  11. I would have loved to see what would have happened to the person calling you a noob , especially on these forums
  12. Well... I feel with Slacker... When I bought the game, it took me two months to get past act I, because I was unsatisfied with how the character developed. And not just build wise.. A lot of the time I was restarting because I was unhappy with the dialouge option I had choosen with calisca about my backstory or I was unhappy with the background in general And to be completely honest with you, I still do that way to much.... WAY to much. I'm actually forcing myself to stop playing for now so I can dive into it when I get back and stop worrying about the characters backstory (cause that is exactly what I am developing right now) THAT is how bad my restarteritis has become
  13. Thanks Slacker Update: I have added an overview over ranged and melee combat as well as added a few details here and there.
  14. Well... It is done for now. I already have a few modifications in mind... I will add them as soon as possible. If you have anythink you think should be up there please tell me
  15. I'd go for the golden gaze and pentrating shot for the ranger. I think that would be worth it. For the wizard... Focus on all pure single target damage spells. Three int wizard is not weak at all if you do that... Missiles could not care less about int. How about an atheist Richard Dawkins priest who can not use any prayer and for the faithful spells, but he needs to focus on science (use scrolls and items with spellbinds from wizardspells, they are sort of scientists)? Or an Emo chanter who is only allowed to chant chants who's title sounds very depressing(Dragon chant is not depressing!)?
  16. Or wait for tyranny... From what I have seen, you start of pretty important
  17. Goodbye slacker It was lovely helping you. It was quite interesting, wouldn't you agree? Have fun with whatever you will play next. See you sometime
  18. I got really worried for a bit. Bloody Americans. Yes... Very annoying
  19. Alright, thanks (weird as in unusual, that will be corrected)... I will add all that this evening. Although I'm pretty sure endurance and health are the actual names(?)
  20. I will finish the guide as soon as I have a bit of time on my hands (likely this evening) This is meant for potential newcomers (a bit late, I know, but who knows what might happen ) to give them a basic overview so they can follow the discussions on this forum more easily. Any feedback is welcome
  21. Welcome novice, so, this guide is focused on introducing you to the very basics of Pillars of Eternity. It will give you an overview of what all the important numbers are, what they do and how you should handle them. I hope I can make you more familliar with the nature of the game and help you start off. If you have a question, please check if it is already answered here before opening a thread. Thanks Health and endurance: Attacks and defenses: Damage types and damage reduction (DR): Types of melee weapons and fighting styles: Types of ranged weapons: Attack speed and speed boni: The atrributes and what they do: Races: Cultures: Backgrounds: Skills: An short introduction into the classes: heavy WIP CLASSIC CASTERS: Introduction Wizard: Druid: Priest: THE "NEW" CASTERS Chanter Cipher Stacking rules: A sidenote on summons and traps: Why no detailed build guides for the classes?
  22. Looking very awesome everyone... You guys are all so talented
  23. A lot of it is gained by the connection you as the player form with your character, outside of what actually happenes in the game. I think I talked about my death godlike monk who killed her parents because they abused her? I try to see the world of Eora through her eyes. The fact that I spend time creating her backstory formed a connection to her. Maybe I was mistaken to give you a backstory. But if you really like it, at least flesh it out and write that down. It will do wonders for your connection with your character and enhance the entire game, trust me. Be sure to post the story if you actually should get to it... there issadly no activity on that thread
  24. Anyway, testing didn't give me the results I was hoping for... I could not be specific. you can maybe frop some dex into con. Further, think about choosing a stag for the higher defenses and definitley go for weapon and shield style. Small shield and spear will gives you good acc. Make frequent use of tanglefoot, it is a very good opener. And as Jerek said, the tone in dialouges is always there. There is a option to enable that in the settings... It lets you see what tone a comment has and thus what reoutation you would earn from it (stuff klike rational, benevolent, cruel,...). The more you say in one tne, the more people associate you with that trait. Might help you. And your personality is set, only people need to get to know it... and dialouges later in the game are simply more advanced, sorry if that was confusing.
  25. I'm smarter, charismatic ecc... Where do I notice this in game? As you progress further, there will be more and more dialouge options that will be available through int, res, per or through reputation. I think it is safe to say that the level of personality of your in game character enhanced with progression in the game
