  1. Finally started playing the game this week since I got a free steam gift card. Should I play PotD or hard for a first time? I'm thinking of going with a wizard build. I have extensive experience with the old nwn1 and nwn2 games from a decade ago, and in my youth, I could calculate cross class saving throws in my sleep. The newer BioWare games like the DA series never captured my interest though I finished the first two on nightmare. Btw the what is it with builds lowering stats to 3? I never dumped a stay in nwn below 8.
  2. The close combat feats are not available to any of PRCs. Select them before hand as your base class.
  3. This is inaccurate. I have found that weapon finesse melee applies to lightsabres too. I invite you to check your attack sheet and look at the logs in combat.
  4. I just noticed that weapon finesse melee seems to work with light sabres? I tried it on Kreia and Atton, and their AB with a sabre is equal to ranged weapons.
  5. Both Kotor I and II run fine under Ubuntu with Wine. Oh the irony!
  6. Keen will double the base critical threat range. For double blades it's 20, so it becomes 19-20 with keen. For Single sabres, the base threat is 19-20, so it becomes 17-20. Some of the blasters are 18-20, so they become 15-20.
  7. There is a Balance mod out there that increases opponents HPs. Makes the game harder intially, but you still roll through at the end: http://www.freewebs.com/achilles01/miscellaneous.htm
  8. To answer the question, you can get Mira and be DS. WHo get is set when you first enter the area, and you were probably LS or neutral at the time.
  9. Energy resistance. It makes Peragus much easier. After that go towards shock (or droid for LS), speed and heal.
  10. Activate your powers before you talk to the seargent.
  11. That's in K1. In K2, charisma does not increase force power gain per level.
  12. Sure. Works fine. Start as consular with high wisdom (16 ish), and focus on your physical stats from there on. Take WM or Sith Maurauder as the prestige class. You'll have the added power reserves and higher DC's of the consular, plus all the fighting feats you need. Dual wield is suggested. Another alternative is to start consular, and then go Sith assassin or Wathcman. Focus on wisdom with this build, and keep your dex high. You can immoblize enemies with the force and then sneak attack the snot out of them. I like to throw in stealth run for good measure, since you can hid and run up to an enemy at full speed and chop them up.
  13. You can use it with blasters. If you use blasters, and you don't have the power, you will NOT be able to deflect shots. It is USELESS with a lightsabre. All Jedi get a feat for free that allows them to deflect shots with a LS, it's called Jedi Defense. The force deflection power allows Jedi Defense to work when not using a LS.
  14. I found two options that do well: 1. LS consular/watchman or DS consular/assassin. Start with highish dex and wisdom, str at 8, and the other stats anywhere you want. Focus on increasing wisdom as high as possible. The strategy is to immobilize opponents and then cut them down with sneak attack damage. The high wisdom is needed to make your powers stick. The LS version gets more feats, but the DS version gets a higher sneak attack damage. 2. DS guardian maurauder, all dex and con. Raise dex after character creation. This operates on the fact that the DS mastery bonus gives +2d8 damage to every shot, and the Maurauder increased combat damage feats add to blaster damage. This does NOT work for LS characters. You can also get more damage from weapon specialization blaster. Build 1 has higher potential damage, and is also a very strong force user. Build 2 does more consistent damage, more of a mchine gun type build. For either build, get the force deflection power early on, and at least the first level of the close combat feat. (you must select it before you gain your prestige class). After that, max out the precise shot tree of feats. The only active combat feat worth getiing is master rapid shot. Powerblast and sniper shot are worthless, since they don't work with master speed. Obviosuly, you need master TWF. Always upgrade your guns. Look for the highest damage upgrades, followed by keen properties. Disintegrators are the favored weapons since they do physical damage that cuts through shields.
  15. I don't know what these guys are smoking. Force deflection works anytime when you are NOT using a lightsabre. It DOES work with blasters.
  16. I've don eit with blasters, so unarmed and swords are something to try, Do the combat forms work with swords? That would be a major drawback.
  17. ATI's current catalyst drivers from their website do not support the 9200 if I recall. You need to search ATI's web page for legacy drivers.
  18. Qixoni is fixed, and can be obtained at the Onderon Cantina for helping the evil little lady (forgot her name).
  19. A very effective build indeed, as I have used it many times. Of course starting out as consular is even better, as it helps your force powers stick more often.
  20. Nah. Fury works as LSer. LS Maurauders are massively powerful fighter. The strength bonus you get is nothing short of spectacular. Inspire followers/crush opposition doesn't work when you switch alignments.
  21. I saw the video, and what I say stands. With 38 AC, you get hit plenty. Even the weakling Gands were hitting you. Nihilus hit you with 100+ damage crit. You were running an overlay with 30% absorption during the Kreia fight. That's 55% absorption, plus the energy resistance power. Look at the floaty text. Some enemies were hitting you for 0 damage, meaning the absorption was doing the work. 38 AC will get you hit. Period. Check the breakdown logs. The fact that you can kill all enemies in one round has nothing to do with the build. That's how easy the game is. Even 10 str consulars can blow through the game.
