  1. Unfortunately there does not seem to be conditions like this in the AI. You might consider having your caster cast it when health drops below a certain threshold, since if you're losing health you've likely lost the spell, unless of course you're playing a blood mage.
  2. Would crit kills triggered by MT/Red Flag in the offhand trigger an Extinction Event AOE from Sungrazer in the main hand?
  3. This game is so mysterious. It seems strange that Red Flag would proc with a full attack ability like WotW but not FoD. Guess I'll go back to my Transcendent, with MT in the offhand since I have a suboptimal, crash prone set up. Will probably ultimately go for Seeker's Fang in the main hand, with other weapons, like Magister's Cudgel, occupying that spot until I get to SSS.
  4. Do you mean the main hand weapon? Isn't FoD a full attack, using the weapons in both hands? It certainly seems that way from the animation, etc.
  5. I was thinking that a votary might be very good against tougher foes. While you could only get +17 ACC from enduring dance and a PER inspiration when auto attacking, you could potentially get an additional 20+ ACC (+10 base, +10 from ring of focused flame, and additional bonus depending on PL) when attacking via FoD, and I believe these ACC bonuses stack. I suspect you could reliably land crits when using this ability at least.
  6. Thanks for the explanations, @Constentin Lévineand @Boeroer. I can see how +100 ACC vs. FORT is the problem, since you are guaranteed to crit in that case. When the game crashed while playing a Transcendent, it was always while battling lower level mobs. I can see now that it is best to save Mohora Tanga for the tougher foes, and use a different weapon set for the mobs.
  7. Yes, with combusting wounds on top enemies that have the misfortune of being in this hazard zone will melt. How about a ranged beguiler/ranger and a wizard to complete your party? Keep in mind that you can also make any party member poison immune with food (Khapa Tea), but this probably isn't necessary for the ranged guys. But it might be a good idea for melee, as the AI will rush them into the hazard zone. But you could make everyone ranged except for your tank; the chanter would be very happy with Blightheart. Given the wizard a wand, rod or scepter until they're high enough level to cast the bow spell; they can cast that and the essential phantom, which would given you even more crazy CC. And your cipher/ranger could use one of the ranged weapons with AOE effects for even more craziness. Make your paladin a pale elf so that they can withstand the various other spells your druid or wizard might cast.
  8. I'm a bit confused about the need for accuracy when wielding these weapons. On the one hand, you want high accuracy to crit, but apparently the game crashes if the accuracy gets too high? I had the crashing problem wielding MT in the main hand of a transcendent (with borrowed instincts). I was thinking of dual wielding Ball and Chain in the main hand and MT in the offhand of a steel garrote/forbidden fist votary. I hope that this combo would not crash my game, given the votary's lower accuracy but perhaps it would, given the multiple procs from those two weapons. Any advice regarding this would be appreciated.
  9. By skald interraction, do you mean Red Flag crits giving you a 50% chance to recover a phrase?
  10. In my experience you really need this blunderbuss modal to make this build work. I'd recommend that you deactivate the BPM nerfs mod while playing this or any other street fighter build. If you want to try it anyway, fire crackers don't work very well as @thelee explains in his guide. But you can use the gloves that you recover for Fassina instead, but at one/encounter it isn't sufficient, unfortunately. There are other ways to do this, such as having a friendly cipher summon wisps to disorient you, to blinding yourself with chill fogs, but none of these options are as convenient as dual wielding a blunderbuss and a melee weapon.
  11. Once you proc a good number of seals you might want to switch to another weapon set to avoid crashing the game!
  12. Perhaps the problem is special ability attacks or weapon effects? If I recall correctly some are not actually coded as melee attacks, which would mean BT would not avert them.
  13. There's always the issue of action economy, but this combo could be a fine hybrid caster/warrior. You could buff up at the start of battle, then go to town with your supercharged fists, and then cast spells from time to time when needed. Soul blade is particularly well suited from this due to the all of the stacks of concentration you'll get. The last thing you want is to be interrupted when casting a spell. The troublesome part is that you'll do a lot of damage, and thus gain focus quickly, so you have to keep an eye on the focus and either cast a power or use soul annihilation when it comes close to maxing out, otherwise you'll lose your soul whip bonus. The nice thing about ascendants is you gain an extra bonus when your focus is maxed, and you can prolong this indefinitely with salvation of time. Both subclasses are great for different reasons.
  14. Wizard+fighter is nice for using Clear Out with the Spirit Lance. If you go with Tactician you can proc brilliant pretty easily with spells like Chill Fog. Wizard+Helwalker is great for the reasons you indicate, especially the bonuses to MIG and INT; the former stacks with tenacious from Thundering Blows, giving you a whopping +15. With spirit lance you can spam stunning surge and stun groups of foes. Wizard+assassin is also a lot of fun. You can cast spells from stealth and often (not always, it depends on the spell) get the massive assassinate bonus to your spells. Wizard + barbarian is also great for the speed bonuses you get from the barb side. Finally, wizard + paladin yields one of the tackiest combos in the game, with sky high defenses along with substantial offensive capabilities. Wizard + steel garrote is a particularly great. Lastly, wizard + soul blade is also great with the spirit lance; you can hit multiple enemies with soul annihilation with it. Wizard can also combine well with other caster classes if you want a dedicated caster.
  15. Nice find! It's amazing how much damage the weapon bound spell effects can do, particularly in the hands of a rogue or cipher with the nice boosts to weapon damage.
  16. Thanks. I'll try my transcendent again with MT in the offhand, and the Magistrate Cudgel in the main hand as @Constentin Lévinesuggests.
  17. I experienced the same thing, my game crashing when using Mohora Tanga against weaker foes in the hands of a transcendent.
  18. It would work very well, I think. The Woedica fists are fantastic weapons that hit hard and fast, and with biting whip with CP you'd get a very sizable raw lash, which is very nice. While soul blade would be nice if you plan on focusing on melee, in my experience you'll likely spend more time casting spells later in the game, in which case ascendent might be an even better pick, since as a priest you can prolong the ascendent state indefinitely. This would give you a 30% boost to weapon damage (10%=20% when ascended) along with the 20% biting whip raw lash as well as up to 31% raw lash from the woedica fists if you max out the favored dispositions and avoid the unfavored ones. Your cipher powers and priest spells will also get a 20% damage boost so long as you are ascended. You can also cast cipher powers as much as you wish. If you want to go mainly melee, soul blade is of course an option. Since your fists will hit so hard you'll max out focus quickly, and thus can spam soul annihilation relatively frequently. The extra concentration stacks are also very nice.
  19. Generally speaking what you report is correct; the active bonus to STR and CON of Taru Turu Chew is suppressed by the better active bonus of frenzy. The same is true of food bonuses as well. However, in my game at least, if you save and reload after resting with food and taking the drug, the bonuses from food and the drug WILL stack with the inspiration bonuses. I believe that this is not the case for all versions of the game, but it works in my version, and is definitely worth testing. You can also get ALL of the drug bonuses BTW if you take them in the right order and save and reload after taking each one. This is only worth doing, however, if you plan on extending the effects using Strand of Favor.
  20. I agree, Shifter does get the best free spell selection IMO. But Lifegiver's selection is great too, as I would be inclined to pick most of the free spells it gets anyway.
