  1. Yea I notice a slowdown already just from the low hit point animations.
  2. Btw you can play the Pathfinder card game solo.... Hint, hint Of course now that this is out, just play the video game but after my group fell apart shortly after I purchased RotR, I just played it solo. It was surprisingly fun and a little sad, at the same time. Those setup times though...
  3. No it's because you can have different parties with the same characters in it, so it would be almost impossible to keep track of which character has which cards removed from their box. What? I'm assuming you're talking about the physical game, which is exactly what I was saying. I liked it but in a video game format the game can remember all of that stuff so it shouldn't be a problem to do it the way it was originally intended. It sounds like you're arguing that it's hard to keep track of cards in the box with different parties and I agree it was - in the physical card game. In a video game it should be very doable which is why I don't understand why it would be changed for this. Regarding the other argument about banishing boons, I'm not sure where that is coming from, as the concept of not having to roll for a boon and those boons being banished has been the accepted ruling for quite some time.
  4. 1 - Yes, any card revealed in the Vault should be possible to be encountered in game, assuming you're in an appropriate adventure. For example the deck 1 cards can only be encountered in adventure 1 scenarios or later, not in the first 3 intro (B) scenarios. Cards that are blank with just a ? symbol haven't been unlocked yet so can't be encountered. 2 - Some things in life and games you learn by doing - while they could add more to the tutorial, what you're talking about is more about learning how to play better which just comes from playing and getting better at the game. And a smaller party is not completely better than a larger party. You have more time to do things, but less ability to specialize in having someone good at every skill and less ability to assist with blessings and powers on any particular check. 3 - Not 100% sure but I believe Seelah 1 is a character you already created that you can choose to keep playing and Seelah would be a brand new version. Like if you wanted to play her once and specialize in weapons and put points in hand size and play her again, specializing in spell casting and taking more spell cards. 4 - Unknown but maybe that you chose heroes who are part of the base (B) set vs heroes that came with the character add on pack © ?
  5. Poison Pill on Legendary isn't really that tough and worth more gold than Heroic anyway, so if the intent was to limit easy grinding you might look at that. Maybe give more gold to later on adventures? Although from what I remember of the physical game, there's generally one easier adventure mixed into each pack to give a breather from the really hard ones, so it's not that cut and dried that later ones are harder. Realistically, if people farming gold is a problem (and I don't know if it is, just saying) you probably want to just cut back on how much gold you get for an adventure or how much you can get per day, period.
  6. I agree about playing the game how you want, but yeah if you're going to farm on that level then to me it takes away some of the fun and challenge of the game because every game you'll have the exact same cards in your deck which makes it both boring and easy. But hey, do what you want. For the same reason why I don't really see a problem with allowing people to undo rolls, this isn't a tournament or a competitive game. Put something in multiplayer so undoing can be disabled and beyond that, who cares.
  7. While there are some bugs, I've played quite a bit through AP1 over the past few days (haven't gotten the 2nd adventure pack yet) and have yet to hit anything game breaking. Well, yes, quest mode is broken, so play story mode for a few days until they get it sorted - story mode is the original game anyway, quest is just something extra they added for the video game. Also the staff online seems very responsive, and games unfortunately tend to have some bugs on release. Try playing WoW after a big patch - and that games been out for years.
  8. Having not really tried treasure chests yet, you can get cards for future decks?? Or were you kidding about the deck 4 and deck 6 items?
  9. Yep, you're right, the full text is "Before you act, succeed at a wisdom 8 check or you may not play spells that have the attack trait or weapons." Definitely sounds like unless there's a typo in the card text (which is possible, there's a typo in longbow +1 that implies it's better to not be proficient to utilize its second ability), I stand corrected.
  10. Interesting. When I completed that adventure with Kyra and Meri only, Kyra got the medallion and Meri got a dagger +1. Since you also got a dagger +1 on Meri, I'm wondering whether these are intentional extras added so that everyone gets a card? Seems a little random but if so, shouldn't each character get their bonus weapon and then add the medallion on top of that? Seems a little strange to add weapons but for one character to arbitrarily get the medallion instead of a bonus weapon.
  11. Regarding bug 3, I think if I understand you correctly that that's intentional. For example when fighting the Siren (wisdom to defeat), even though you are fighting a monster and it seems like it should be combat, it's not a combat check unless it specifically says "combat" as the check type on the card. So, yes, a blessing that gives 2 dice to a non combat wisdom check would give 2 dice to someone fighting the Siren because the check type is wisdom, not combat. The situation in which this might matter would be someone who can use wisdom for actual combat checks - like if Kyra casts a damaging spell like Holy Light as her combat check. That's using her divine dice, which is based on her wisdom stat. So if she used Holy Light on a Hill Giant for example and the non combat wisdom blessing was played, it would only add one die. If there was a combat wisdom blessing, it would add 2 dice in that situation. Hope that helps.
  12. Regarding your first issue, I've also noticed that the war chanter makes all characters roll to not be able to use spells/weapons but I'm not sure if that's a bug. There are definitely monsters farther in that affect all characters, not just the one encountering the monster and I thought this was probably just the first of those. And it could matter, for example another charactrer might want to cast a Strength spell to boost the charactrer in combat, and failing their roll would stop them from being able to do that. Not sure what you mean by "even if they fail their roll they can still use powers" as charactrer powers aren't blocked by the warchanter, just spells and weapons. In terms of the second thing, are you aware of the pull down menu at the top of the screen during checks that allows you to manually toggle between different stats? If you tried that and there was no option to swap to wisdom then it does sound like a bug, but I know some players aren't aware of how to toggle between stats in a check, so wanted to make sure.
  13. Huh. I kind of liked the card game method - *especially* in a video game format where the game can remember which cards have been removed more easily for you. I wonder if this is related to the current inability to pass on acquiring a boon.
  14. Personally my favorit charactrer is Lini although she might be a character add on pack character in which case buying her separately is kinda of pointless. But honestly one of the things I love about this game is that all of the characters are really fun to play and pretty well balanced, just pick someone that sounds fun and you can't go wrong. Although if you haven't bought anyone yet and still only have Kyra and Meri then actually you might want to pick up an arcane caster - Ezren, Seoni or Lem, so you can try out all of the arcane spells that the initial two can't use.
  15. Never understood the Lini hate. Free d4+? To literally every roll she ever makes? Plus she can get blessings and other bonuses just like every other character. I think she might be the strongest overall character in the game. Sure, other characters have better combat rolls, but she gets a bonus on everything!
  16. Yes, back into the vault. But don't worry too much about it, the basics you choose from initially aren't that amazing for the most part and will be replaced with better non basic cards anyway. And if you choose to ditch a card between adventures and later realize it was OP, you'll probably encounter it again later.
  17. If you mean adding other basic cards beyond what you already have in your deck or find in the adventure, the answer is you can't. Once you start a game and initially set up your decks, all new cards after that come from cards found during adventuring, either from encountering them or getting them as scenario rewards. The only other exception to this is if due to banishing cards during an adventure or acquiring new card slots, you don't have enough cards to fill all the slots in your decks, the game will then let you choose basic cards to fill those open slots. For example, if you banished a mace from Kyra's hand to close a location but then picked up a dagger during the adventure, even though that's not a particularly great card for Kyra you will have to keep that dagger (although you could give it to another character and give Kyra one of their weapons) but you have to keep the cards you have first and can only add basics if there aren't enough cards of a type available already among all of your characters. The good news is most basic cards aren't that great anyway (although there are exceptions) so you will be finding cards that are better fairly often and once you've played a couple games you'll have a better feel for which basics you want initially.
  18. At the end of the scenario when that card screen comes up, that's what's letting you choose which cards to continue to keep in your decks going forward. If you picked up a longbow +1 for example, that card will be listed along with your other weapons and its up to you whether you choose to keep the longbow or one of the other cards, based on the number of weapon slots you have available. The cards you have fluctuate greatly over the course of all of the adventures that you go on with that team (and if you start a new game, that game will be treated completely separately, so you'd have to find upgrades again, etc). So the short answer is you can keep cards between scenarios but it depends on what cards you choose when rebuilding your decks after each scenario. Finding and acquiring (and keeping) good cards is part of the fun and replay ability of the game. For example, I personally love the Father Zantos ally, but in one game maybe he just never comes up and I have to find a way to manage healing without him. Or, you might have to banish something during the adventure to close a location - and that banished card will no longer be available unless you find it again later on. Similarly, buried cards are cards that are basically out of play for the rest of the particular scenario that you are on, but are still in your deck for the next scenario, unless you specifically choose to ditch them when rearranging decks between scenarios. Hope that clears things up.
  19. Personally this card always irritated me more than cards like Iesha Foxglove. I'd much rather face something difficult or that requires using specific strategy like looking ahead to find her location and having Kyra ready to handle the encounter vs just complete randomness that can cost me the game no matter how well prepared.
  20. There's a special "button" at the top of the screen that pops up in those situations that you have to click to let the game know you want to roll the check with someone else.
  21. I've been doing the increased difficulty right away with Kyra and Merisiel, most of them aren't that hard. Although, I suspect that with a bigger party, some of the random difficulty effects will be more of a problem - like the one where you lose 5 turns off the blessings deck, not really a big deal with 2 when you usually have plenty of time, but win 6, might be an issue.
  22. If it still has the big ? In the middle of the card then you haven't acquired it. I was assuming that the different borders were either decoration that doesn't really mean anything or possibly indicating rarity of the card. Since when you look at treasure chests in the shop it talks about some of the cards being rares, maybe the ones with decorated borders are the rares.
