  1. Whatever man. If you were to do that you'd have to apply a system similar to the one mkreku described to keep people from abusing the educational system/being a drain on it. I'd rather leave it the way it is and keep my band aid, they've been getting me by so far.
  2. So you have no experience of this subject what so ever? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sure he does, remember the posts where he said he'd get depressed and down a bottle of Jack Daniels by himself, home alone. Abusive behavior if I've ever heard of it.
  3. Um, except that addiction is recognized as a mental illness pretty much every shrink board everywhere now. You are so f***ing wrong I don't even know where to begin. Sure, you can hold down a job, for awhile at least. You home life's gonna go to pieces, and sooner or later your addictions gonna catch up with you, but yeah, you can hold it together for awhile, especially if you're clever and above all a good liar. My old man managed to keep it together for 20 years before his alcoholism caught up with him. Sorry dudes, as the son of a now sober alcoholic, and having grown up hanging out with his buddies from AA, I'm gonna have to side with Hades on this. Discuss the financial benefits all you want, but giving drugs to an addict is no way to solve their problems, just prolong them. An addict has to hit bottom to want to clean up their life, that generally involves some ugly ****. And now I feel dirty.
  4. Um, no. Sure, if you have money falling out of your pockets it helps, but show me a situation where it doesn't. If you can't afford to go to a good college they have scholarships, grants, and if all else fails massive student loans. If you still can't get in to a good university despite these things, you can go to a community college, get decent grades there and get your foot in the door to a better school down the line. You can take care of your first two years of college there (general ed crap) and they're really cheap too. If you don't have a higher education in 'Merikuh you've got nobody to blame but yourself.
  5. I like the US system better. If it worked that way here I would've effed up my chance for further advancement with my grades/laziness/boredom in highschool with no chance for a do-over aside from slogging away at a crap job for years on end. EDIT: This is in response to mkreku's post.
  6. It truly is a sad day. I blame Bush and his Fascism. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I totally agree. It's all Dubya's fault that rent-a-cops are jerks. He should be impeached immediately.
  7. Yeah, like that freak Hades. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is this a cry for help Sandes?
  8. You reminded me the other day but I forgot. Happy Hatchday Ron.
  9. Saving 33 copies each of Goatse, Tubgirl, and Lemonparty into a folder marked "XXX Lesbians" on my desktop. My little brother's gonna have a surprise waiting for him the next time he looks for porn on my computer.
  10. Those four officers are half of the force!
  11. It's like you skipped the bulk of my post and only focused on the part about being overworked. Do you suggest tasering them? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know I do.
  12. Hott. Also, I've talked to a friend I've known since I was six who now goes to UCLA, and he says that recently the bulk of the UC Police left because they were overworked, paid just a smidgen above minimum wage, and treated like crap by everyone they interacted with, students and teachers alike. Apparently they had fliers up for awhile, pleading for a pay increase if the student body wanted a decent on-campus police force, but it didn't fly. So basically the only people who stayed on the force were the power hungry jerks who get off on pushing people around. Oh, and they're even more overworked than they were before.
  13. True, but playing a gunslinging Toreador buffed with Auspex and Celerity is about the funnest thing ever.
  14. Yeah, we all saw how that ended. "The Earth is kind of screwing us over, let's throw rocks at them!"
  15. Looks like somebody's looking to be tasered.
  16. Jack sent the emails, look at the very last one.
  17. I voted for you jorian.
  18. I think this one might actually be real. Unless the bots have become sentient and are starting to try to act like people, doing things like PMing.

I was totally digging Infinite Recall Girl,
  20. This person flew to Japan just buy the thing, because he couldn't wait several months. I mean...I love games and stuff...but not only did he pay for the expensive console, but for the expensive plane ticket. Hardcore game console fan or not...people are nuts. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ^PotentPaladin
  21. It will arrive on Monday actually <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bok what do you do with all your old hardware? Because I'd be glad to take it off your hands for you.
  22. Mine stagnated after I found this. Also it looks like I forgot to mention the wars in the review. You can totally war with other nations instead of just sitting there all alone. Or y'know, talk politely.
  23. Cyber Nations is an interesting little web-based nation simulator that is kind of like Nation States for those of you that've messed around with that before, but is similar only in that you're creating a nation, choosing government positions and such. After that, the similarities stop because of all the other interactive features. When you start out you're asked to pick a nation name and ruler name, I suggest something similar to Halotopia, which is ruled by 1337M4ST3R, and make sure you give your nation a good description, Halotopia's is almost perfect, it reads: This kind of posturing lets people know that you mean business. After you create your nation you'll be asked to pick your government positions. Here you'll be presented with scenarios like:
