Borderlands. Went down an elevator to pick up some weapons to sell. Go up. Die for no reason what-so-ever. Had to pay 5000 to make 500. Good thing money's so worthless, I keep loosing tons when getting killed by the bosses (early on never, now later usually once, very rarely twice). Also wondered why I have the GOTY and there are still little nitpickity bugs that irk me. No one ever thought to fix up the +ammo capacity skill (assault?)/vehicle bug? (You get about 6 additional bullets maxed out. But when leaving a vehicle it's loaded at the original max. So each time you exit a vehicle you have to reload to fill up the rifle. It's Soooooo annoying)

Odd. Just said something about a kingdom of amular item at that point. The ME3 item was after the 45 min was up. Then again, I wasn't logged in, so got squat anyways
-
Nope, you only get it 45 minutes *after the tutorial* into the game...

Playing Borderlands. More fun than I anticipated it would be...

It's a blu-ray burner drive to be exact. And that's not the issue. However my software bluray player is. Which runs everything fine... but Star Wars. Only if I get a payed software update (version increments, you know them...) can I run it. Why? Because they stuffed something on those discs that no other disks have just to make it harder to read them... :/ What kind of compatibilty issue would a blu-ray disc have that no other have then their copy protection scheme?
-
(double post since I can't edit my post yet ) For the JC2 example; Except with the difference that the reason it's not working isn't "more recent DX required for the engine" and more "stupidly idiot DRM added"...
-
Because the Star Wars blurays seem the only in existance with this sort of security, giving these issues. (For recent, HP 7.2 or The Lion King works fine, which are both newer) It's not like getting a software update, it's more like some games like Just Cause II to require you to use Vista/7. If you have XP then, and *just* one game of that type, and no interest to shell hundreds of dollars for a Windows update... well... And just to make clear... it's a software player, I try to run it on my PC (since, no TV). The updates for my player are not enough, I need a paid version increase... yay (not)
-
Yeah, it's the software. But ALL my other blu-rays run fine, and to upgrade I have to spend $100. Not going to pay that much (as it's on top of the price of the box itself) for just these movies...
-
Well... bought the Star Wars Blu Rays (atlast), just to find out my software can't play it... it can play ANY other blu rays. Googling found it was due to a new encryption added to the disk. Which requires me to get a $100 software update to play it. Just for these movies. Sorry, not worth it... your DRM just makes me go back to the store and return the item. Costumer lost. Dammit.

Welcome to "modern", where ego-boosting functions and blogs take precedent over functionality and slickness. I can't see anything from the old boards I miss now though, so...
-
Regards to indie-games, their difficulty is generally higher than AAA-games... made to Never Fail . Aaaaanyways, Not really playing, mostly working on TSLRCM. Probably going to pick up Just Cause II in pauses or when done...
-
Dunno. There was some heavy chatting back when I was playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. So there was definitely a social element there...
-
You don't...
-
Not really. Most do it publically, just to get money from people who want their console modified. Which are a lot in Europe.
-
Good thing about just waiting for the Ultimate Collector's Edition. Still need to activate the DLC, but that's not that big an issue. And the UCE was cheaper than Origin (no Awakening, no DLC) is *still* in local stores. I suppose they hope for the ignorant.
-
Then you've never been to the Netherlands. Console piracy is probably way bigger than PC piracy. And yes, it really is as simple as burning a disc. The risk for virusses and malware is smaller than downloading PC titles. Those are just arguments made in ignorance. Then again, we're pretty advanced when it comes to tech. (Although I swear loyalty to the PC, never liked console gaming. A PC is not as expensive as a console, TV and TV-subscription, which only still gives utter crap (not to mention you still need a PC then for the webs and stuff).

And what do you call someone who does that alone too...? (like, well, me 0_0)

Tried the demo. Hate it... uninstalling now. The art sucks, the music sucks, the combat sucks. And I am no graphicswhore, but the graphics are from 2008. And has heavy popup. And enemies that are invisible and only rendered when in your face sometimes. That the graphicoptions are screwed and keep resetting helps nothing either. The AI is horrible. "Hey, someone blasted me in my back... let's sit down again" "Wait... that guy... oh, must be nothing. Lalalala...* 30 sec later *Hey, he killed me 7 times already. I am that much killable since I am a quest-giver. Yay being able to kill everyone, exceptions plenty of course" More examples of geniality; *attacks whole town, murdering about 20 people with ease...* Guard; "give up" Me; "no" *kill more* Leave... return 15 min later. Guard: "Crimal, give in" Me: "Why? I can easily kill all of you again!" Guard: "Your resist option is greyed out!" Me: "****! Well, lock me up I guess." *escapes* *gets killed by 2 guards. Somehow these 2 are more dangerous than 20 outside* *clicks respawn* *Guards are friendly... since I am not set to hostile anymore :/. Oh, and they don't mind me using a lever while it's labeled a criminal action* And as everyone's saying here, you can stunlock everyone... but white bears (they are unstunlockable on their behind legs). I suppose it might get more impressive later, since I attacked a village of dark elves and they were all mages that gave me a run for my money (till the demo ended). Even bosses like the ogre. And whoever came up with "press button repeatedly to get more XP" should get shot. Afterwards I just wanked it since I gave up hope already anyway, and wanted people be unable to say 'play more, it will grow on you!' It didn't... And don't get me started on the bugs... Oh, the bugs. No game at all if post-processing is on. Loading a new map and the character keeps moving in a direction until you hit those keys. But good luck if you have a convo before you can do that, you're unable to select any options but the one it's locked on, afore-mentioned AI issues, some NPC's you're unable to turn hostile-mode on (even if you can kill them with it later), unpick-upable loot bags, various pauses during combat, a lot of lines that are shown on screen but never said, broken lipsynch (most people just keep their mouth shut) and that's just what came up to mind... cause there were loads more. EDIT: I forgot to mention the UI is even worse than Dragon Age 2. The amount of screens and actions for your inventory, skills and other stuff is austounding. I just gave up on equipping items after the tutorial dungeon (then again, I did the same for the game), it's just soooo convoluted...
-
I suppose I would be more impressed if it... like... worked. Instead of THIS: Time to find what they screwed up. That my resolution and graphic options are never saved is probably a sign.
-
I just didn't get DA2 because it sucked...
-
The ones I remember most are Unreal Tournament and Deus Ex (the first, both cases).
-
Depends on who you ask. Planet scanning/Hammerhead where worse than MAKO. No story (ME2) definitely doesn't beat having a story (ME1). Also lack of RPG elements, inventory still doesn't like that. I suppose it worked great as cover shooter, but I don't really like cover shooters. I'm more an RPG-person...

Freelancer, after I had to format once, so while the gamefiles were kept, the registry entries weren't. Which is no issue in most games or require immediate re-install, but Freelancer got an odd twist... It's fonts are too big! Critical data like my speed, booster charge just fall off, on the map names overlap and more of such oddity. Or did I overlooked something else causing this. Guess I should just re-install...

While Dx:HR used the same system, that hovering over it actually displays the line (or 2) Adam says afterwards really helps. With the "ME-conversation wheel" becoming more common ( ) I wish they would all do something like that. Then again, why use that stupid wheel then in the first place...

Got L.A. Noire too. Haven't tried it yet though. People had issues with AA with keyboard and mouse? What else would one use? It was pathetically easy (on normal) to fight. Then again sneaking was the main difficulty, where fighting controls don't matter. DX:HR's convo-battles are some of the best parts of the game (the worst? Boss fights). Also, both AP, DX and DX:HR share... Pistol is overpowered. Why get a machinegun when it's soooo much more powerful?
