  1. Well I am the kind of person who keeps all vital data and files on an external hard drive, so crashing my system and restoring it is nothing more than a loss of time. Which I did that and the problem was fixed. I did it before and apparently it didn't go through because there was alot of programs still on my pc that should have been deleted. Yet it works again...oh he fun. For the record, I traced it to something like MSsystem2 or something like that...can't remember.
  2. I don't know much of anything that happened after The Battle of Endor, but I think I can peice together the hypothetical. Well...if you put together the events, how they occurred, the Rebels could not match or push back the Imperial fleet so they would have been fighting to the death, as well the Death Star was fully functional and could fire much quicker than the first. Now, the Rebels already walked into a trap, but even as such, they still would have destroyed the shield barrier and Lando would have still gotten his shots off and destroyed the reactor. The only real variables that exist come from inside the Death Star. so either Luke turning DS, Luke staying LS and killing Vader/Sidious (basically the way the movie ended), or Luke dying at the hands of Vader/Sidious. In the latter, Vader and Sidious could have easily escaped before its destruction and Sidious would have been able to transfer himself to a clone or another fresh body. And really, if Luke was dead, the Yuuzhan Vong would have still invaded and taken over and dropped Sidious and Vader regardless. I dare say the Battle of Endor would not be as significant if Luke had been killed on the Death Star. Seeing that Luke, as simple as I can put it, revived the Jedi order following the events and into the future which in the hypothetical, would have changed everything.
  3. It's there throughout the game, but it is very subtle and at times you have to almost infer the meanings of this and that. Though truthfully a lot about the Exile is not defined until the Dantooine scene.
  4. It just kind of "started working again", I didn't really do much. But I have another issue, I have had BF2 for a while and love it, but recently my PC started screwing up and eventually stopped functioning completely, so I used the partition to recovery it, so now when I install BF2 it installs fine, but when I click "Play" I get an error message saying "LaunchBFII is not responding - Send error report , etc." I have latetst updates, I've unistalled an reinstalled it many times and it still will not play...anyone? Likewise whenever I try to analyze my system, I get a similar message and have to close it.
  5. Yes, it is possible, even if the alignment doesn't show, to get Kreia more DS oriented. There are times, given proper dialogue options that she wants you to fell the dark side and use your anger.
  6. Hard to say...I, like many others am very excited for this but in an instance it could be gone. I have the game and am waiting this thing out before I play it again. I've played most of the major paths, oddly enough I've yet to play a canon game without using codes or skipping the dialogue for the hell of it.
  7. There seems to be a resolution....both my systems are now connected and running fine. Not quite sure how this finally decided to happen, but I would like to thank all for the advice and help.
  8. Ok, then thanks for helping identify the exact problem...now how might I go about fixing it? I am not very computer friendly, I know basics of use but nothing of specific connections or how to fix them. And no, the computers "help and support troubleshooting" techniques just bring me around in circle. Now that I have an idea what the problem might be, basically what I suspected from the start, how can I fix it?
  9. Exactly, being a self proclaimed Jew, I don't like spending that much money for something that could potentially be an easy fix. I'll mess around with the settings some more, but this problem only became permanent 2 days ago, previous to it occuring, I had not changed any settings or activated any controls. Effectively this problem came out of nowhere. My business PC is newer and it runs Vista (came with it), which I know has problems, but for a problem to occur 5 months after, with no problems since...is discerning.
  10. Its not the router alone, if you had read what I typed, you would know that even the business PC connected directly to the modem will not work. Though I had my PC checked and it worked fine at the store.
  11. Thanks for the reply, but that too is on my list of "tried but failed" methods. I am having a geek squad person come out to fix it hopefully, on Sunday, but its going to cost $160, so with my one connected PC I will try to get it fixed before then.
  12. Ok, so I have two PC's that I like to run at the same time, two separate systems, one for gaming/projects and what not, and the other strictly business. I have both systems connected to the net through a router from a cable modem. While also from the wireless router I have a lap top using it. Just recently my business PC has stopped connecting to the net altogether, as well my gaming PC stopped connecting. So after some fiddling I found out that when connected directly to the modem without the router, my gaming PC connects fine, yet going through the router or trying to hook it up with my business PC will cause all connections to fail. Also when connecting my business PC directly to the modem it will not connect. The cables are brand new, the modem just got replaced, I brought in my business PC and had it checked out by geek squad and they said it was fine and for all intents and purposes, I have done absolutely nothing to alter or change connection settings to the point that this issue should arise. Yet I bring it home, try to connect them and again none of them work and only the gaming PC works when directly connected to the modem. I would also note that every now and then over the past month or two, my connection would suddenly get dropped but only stay down for a minute or so and then it would be fine. Would anyone at all have a clue as to what I could do to resolve this problem?
  13. A BF 3 is more likely at the moment than a KOTOR 3, so there is hope. Though they would have to open the game more to the SW universe and to make it attractive, they would absolutely need to make the entire game relative to the Old Republic or have those Sith/Mandalorian/Old Republic armies in the game some how to compliment the trilogy era. And for the PSP argument, they are weak and have failed in every aspect compared to DS. Graphical arguments are for the young and fragile minds afraid of good gaming.
  14. Its hard to think anything since we don't know jack about it yet. Lets just hope they take the proper course and use something similar to the idea I came up with a while ago.
  15. I suppose...in all honesty I like Aristotle...but sometimes he gets too philosophical. As it says on that page, those of the time preferred to use logic and reasoning to get answers (Specifically in relation to God's existence), where as the way I see it, answers whether true or false, only lead to definites and by proxy extremes. Indeed, the material is there and one can make many observations. I would encourage those who enjoy analyzing to do so with the game as I mentioned by making it a blank canvas. It really does not get you anywhere, but its a good exercise for your mind and analytical abilities...and you will be glad you did it.
  16. No, by the time I had played KOTOR 2 I was out of highschool and already had taken my sociology classes in college. But I easily could write such a paper. The game itself is chock full of references for not just sociological writings, but every aspect of any social science and even some environmental sciences (The Telos restoration project). As a main aspect I would focus on how one extreme or another can lead to ruin, and how a grey philosophy can prevail where extremes fail, even if the grey path does not provide answers (Which it is not suppose to anyways), it allows you to see much more than picking one side or another. Also one could note how an individual with a powerful pressence has the ability to influence the actions of others who are with them, out of respect or fear and that this power should be used carefully. People flock to leaders in search of guidance and support, but if that leader loses their way, loses their faith, it can create dire circumstances for everyone involved (The hole in the Force by the Exiles "cutting of from" affected everyone she was connected to). Even getting down to individuals in the game like Bao-Dur, who at the behest of the Exile, created and activated the MSG on Malachor and then who after the war went around the galaxy, doing what he could to "fix it". He does not regret what he has done, yet he does what he can to fix the galaxy. He does not even want recognition, he just wants to fix things. You could analyze and draw out every character into a sociological nature, but as someone mentioned, papers on video games is generally frowned upon, but in that case, take the game and make it blank. Make it so it is not a video game and the characters are not Star Wars oriented and then on top of that, build a foundation from which you can break down and analyze everything.
  17. Why is it exclusive to the PSP? The PSP is junk and they don't sell all that well in the market compared to DS and even GBA. The company figures by setting up an exclusive deal for a Star Wars Battlefront game, which are big sellers, they could get people to buy a PSP and the game and hopefully boost sales. As good as BF games are, they are not good enough to get me to buy a PSP for it alone. I'd essentially be spending $150 plus for a fancy looking paper weight. But if the game itself does sell good, we could very well see a BF3 for every operating system.
  18. I am just wondering how many people will try and download this patch when its open for downloads...I get this feeling that it may be a few weeks after its finishes that many people will be able to download it. If as many people as I think are going to download it...there will be quite a bit of "web traffic" for a while.
  19. They wouldn't kill him when he has yet to do anything wrong. Only when one is truly seduced by the dark side will Jedi take action. So no.
  20. Hard to say, certainly a KOTOR3 would be welcomed and I would love a Kotor version of BF3, but I get this feeling they may go in a completely different direction and furthur expand the universe and try some new ideas. As for Force Unleashed...I will end up getting it no doubt.
  21. I'd rather see some dedicated fans put forth an honest effort to create some original ideas and movies based off of what we know in the SW universe from the original trilogy, KOTOR and everything else in the expanded universe. Infact if I can ever figure out how one of my editing programs works, I will hopefully be doing the same thing. But thats a ways off.
