  1. Another bug that never got fixed: The cone template of the Cipher spell Mind Wave shows on the caster and not on the target as it should be.
  2. Here is a super minor big, but hey - maybe it's a quick fix.
  3. Well, then don't trust me. But I'm a sucker for details and as these blurry backgrounds drive me mad, I tried everything that came to my mind - should have added this earlier. And yes, I have 3.07.1318. I also don't have any issues regarding patch-order, because I downloaded the install and data files for 3.07.1318 (main game and both expansions) so no further patching is necessary. - did you try disable or force/override aa/af (and other) settings driverside? Yes, makes no difference for me (In fact I once disabled ANY driver related additions, enhancements, whatever... and also tried different driver versions - to no avail.) - did you try running w/ w/o dwm (desktop windows manager)? Truth be told I'm not familiar with that, but will take a look now. So thanks. - did you try different dx versions / open gl via commandline option? Yes, makes no difference for me Regarding those uniforms: Would you be so kind to post a screenshot of those uniforms working, please? Because I cannot verify that. I installed 3.07.1318 again to test this and this is what it looks like: My male PC Grieving mother (same color scheme as PC) Comparison between the two
  4. Trust me - I tried everything to fix the blurry backgrounds and nothing helps besides using 3.06 instead of 3.07. My guess is they changed something in the renderer. I think some people have this but don't even notice (or care) but for me it's VERY irritating. Maybe it is hardware related and not affects everyone. If so, then I may just have rotten luck, but there is nothing on my end that I can do to confirm or deny that. So I stay to what I posted before and just avoid 3.07 altogether. And for the bugged items: There is more than that. The three pirate uniforms for example are bugged as well and are invisible/white on all male characters. The pirate hat also had a problem, but it may be that it got patched - I don't know anymore...
  5. The Deadfire Pack is a free DLC for Pillars 1, so this is the correct forum. As for the question: Sadly no clue, I use GOG myself. I would stay on 3.06 anyway, because 3.07 made the game backgrounds blurry and most of the Deadfire irems are bugged. The pack and patch are a nice gesture but terribly executed...
  6. If you want to play with the Deadfire DLC items, you need 3.07. Some months back I created a functional "frankenstein-patch" for myself by switching and changing several files between 3.06 and 3.07 and in the end it was perfectly playable, but this included much trial and error and resulted in some (very) minor glitches, so I do not recommencement it. The culprit in regards to the blurred image is Assembly-Sharp.dll, but patching to 3.07 and just switching this file back to the 3.06 version won't do it. In my latest run, I just changed back to 3.06, because I can do without the DLC items - some of them are bugged anyway. If you can do without the Deadfire Pack, just use 3.06. The bug fixes 3.07 introduced are virtually non-existent and don't include anything of significance. 3.06 is the best version of this game in my opinion.
  7. There is a tiny file mod on the Pillars Nexus that fixes the arbalest, so you can use this weapon, too.
  8. Just to let everyone know: Someone on Nexus Mods uploaded a fix for the flickering. (I didn't test it yet, but will try it out in my next run soon.) https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity/mods/187
  9. Yeah, I also do find the font in dialogue a bit too small - it's definitely smaller than in Pillars 1, which was the perfect size for me. Sure, you can scale it up, but this increases it everywhere, which doesn't look that good in places. Would be nice to increase it just for the dialogue box to match up with the size in Pillars 1.
  10. Hi Cdiaz, thanks for the response. I managed to slightly improve the image by fiddling around a bit, but it still feels blurry - especially in direct comparison with PoE1. I finished my last PoE1 run on the release day of PoE2 and more or less went straight over to the sequel, so that's why the difference popped immediately. Maybe it's because of the lighting and other additional effects overlaying the 2D image - I don't know. I made two screenshots to show what I mean: Look at the grass for a good example... PoE1 (3.06): PoE2: I also attached the files you asked for. Would be nice if you can check if there is anything wrong on my end or if the graphics look as they should, because of the new engine and stuff... Thanks. DxDiag.txt output_log.txt
  11. I didn't spend that much time with the game yet, but one of the very first things I noticed was this slight blurr in the overall image. Graphics are great, but it looks like someone took the screen and went over it with the blurr tool in Photoshop. I have a super crisp image in POE1 3.06, but 3.07 made the image blurry and Deadfire suffers from the same issue. Something in the renderer, I think. Is there some way for me to get the crisp image back? (I don't have any graphical 'enhancements' running via driver or shader injector etc.)
  12. Considering the ending slides, I think Galawain is the best choice, as it results in the most positive outcome for the Dyrwood. In my playthroughs, I switched between Galawain and Berath. If I was in the Watcher's shoes in real life, however, I guess I'd take Hylea in order to give the remaining Holloborns their souls back.
  13. I don't think one single bug can stand representative for how Obsidian handles known issues. They have x amount of known bugs and less than x amount of resources to tackle them. So they have to pick their battles carefully. Another point is that some problems are easier to fix than others and we don't know on which end of the spectrum this particular bug falls. I personally don't mind it that much and let me tell you that there are some super SUPER minor bugs in this game that I hate with a passion and would love to see fixed. So it's all subjective. In my experience, they did care quite a lot for Pillars 1 (being their very first own IP and all) and did support it for quite a long time. They didn't squash all the problems and one could argue that the latest patch made things a bit worse than the one before that, but its still a great game and I wouldn't cancel my order on the sequel because of some (subjectively) minor unfixed stuff in the first game. It's not like you cannot complete PoE because it has dozens of game breaking problems or something like that. That said, I think you can expect a somewhat rough start with Deadfire and may want to wait for the first few patches to drop if you are easily affected by stuff like that.
  14. Well, if you want to be completely over the top and crazy about this, you can cancel if you want to... I don't know if this bug existed back in 1.0, because with several patches and mechanical changes came several new bugs and problems. PoE1 has been supported for a long time and received many patches, but it's a large and complex game and had - and still has - quite a few bugs (most of them minor annoyances, though.) Considering that Obsidian focuses on the sequel, I doubt we'll see another patch for the first game any time soon (if at all), which means we are stuck with the bugs that haven't been fixed as of yet. I myself still play version 3.06 because 3.07 (the latest patch) introduced some problems I'm not willing to accept. So you can make a choice: Enjoy a great game with some flaws or... don't.
  15. It's a known bug and as far as I'm informed there is no real way to fix this.
  16. Yeah, it's a bug. I don't know which patch created the problem, but it's been this way a long time now. I wouldn't keep any hopes up to see a fix one day. (It may be a minor thing, but bothered me too in my Cipher run. My character looked a lot less cool this way.)
  17. It's in a sad way somewhat funny that this bug came with the "Definitve" version of Pillars 1. I assume the game will stay this way, as it seems there will be no more patches. For me, 3.06 is the best it got and everything after made the game worse. Even many of the Deadfire items came - and still are - bugged, which indicates to me that they didn't spent much (if any) time testing them. I'd like to know how they made those screenshots for the Deadfire Pack, however, because there the pirate outfits look like they should on male characters.
  18. Well, visually the armors are still as bugged and therefore ugly as hell (only on male characters.) There is a fix for the arbalest on the Nexus page for Pillars, so you can look there. I didn't test it though, as I prefer to stay on 3.06 due to the overall blurry graphics since 3.07.
  19. I did play a while with 3.07 in combination with the AssemblySharp.dll from 3.06 + IE Mod. If I recall correctly, there was one (maybe two – I’m not sure) file(s) I had to switch from 3.07 back to 3.06 because of minor UI errors / wrong descriptions in the menu. But the game itself ran without problems and I didn’t notice anything gamebreaking. If the blurriness really bothers you, I’d give it a try. Back up the files you change out, though!
  20. I don't think there's ill means behind this - Pillars 1 is just not that important anymore. As Obsidian is working full force on Deadfire, I presume there's not much time and manpower to spare for these problems. The Deadfire Pack was a really nice gesture and I very much appreciate it for that; but it also was - and still is - a bit of a buggy mess and the game (in my view anyhow) got somewhat worse after it. It's a bit of a shame not to leave on a high note, but that's how it seems right now. Well, I guess some short comment about this matter would be nice, so people don't need to wonder if support for the game is officially dropped or temporarily on ice, because of Deadfire. My personal solution is this: I'll keep my precious install files for 3.06 and just ignore everything that came after it, until maybe we get a fix some day...
  21. I'm on GoG, so I need to install Fraps or something to deliver some fps numbers. Have to go work soon and only have a few minutes so just some quick answers: - The overall "smoothness" of the game feels around the same, so subjectively no fps gain. (If I can get to it, I'll add some numbers at a later time.) - No changes in graphics quality options. Both screenshot were made with everything on max, so you have a forced visual downgrade since 3.07, which is a deal breaker for me.
  22. It's not really an issue, it's an intended feature of IEMod which you cannot toggle on or off via the mods options menu. I'd suggest you just ignore / don't use it if you want the other features of IEMod, but if this really bothers you, then you'll have to disable the mod.
  23. Thanks for the patch, but I'll stick to 3.06, because since 3.07 the game looks objectively worse for me. Luckily, I kept a backup folder with POE 3.06 and I took the time to make two screenshots to compare both versions. Same resolution, no changes in graphics options whatsoever - just starting the game and making a screenshot, then quit, start the other version, load the same save and make another screenshot. Compare: 3.07 3.06 In full screen it should be fairly obvious, but look at the crops for example...
  24. Have you tried with the helmet just in your inventory and not equipped when the adventure book scene starts? It shouldn't matter, but maybe the game is bugged this way. I remember the 'cutscene' text mentions that the chosen character puts on the helmet in order to survive. When I got this (not in 3.07 though) I had the helmet in the stash, not on my character or in any personal inventory. (Unrestricted stash if this matters.) I'm very much certain the helmet should save any character in this instance. Also the inventory thing shouldn't matter, but maybe the game looks for helmet in a certain place and ignores it in others.
