  1. Because the ending sucked. Good writing requires that we are shown what is going on and not simply told. Basic Creative Writing 101. That bit made me think that Chris A. needed to head back to college and take refresher courses. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How do you "show" anything when using words. Seems like you're just "telling" them after all :D
  2. Are you talking about sports games? I'm not even sure they only have 1 year development cycles (as they could have an 18 month cycle or so, kind of like Graphics Card manufacturers). Even if they do have a 1 year development cycle, it still doesn't stop them from cutting out stuff (like Create-A-Player...thank god I didn't buy the latest NHL). I also hold them in a different category since they don't need to burden themselves with a story or anything of significance. In fact, given the fact that I don't like most sports games because of poor AI (games like Football can mask this, since plays are very structured and don't last long enough for AI deficiencies to really materialize). Also, maybe Obsidian finds it more difficult to force their employees into ungawdly work hours And no, I wasn't being clueless on purpose.
  3. I like Don Cherry (racist?) because he's not a typical, PC douchebag like most sports announcers (although I think Kelly Hrudey is my favourite Hockey Night in Canada announcer...I like "In the Crease"). I respect a guy that speaks his mind.
  4. I missed out on many good adventure games because I either wasn't playing many PC games at the time, or I was so engaged in a different PC Game (such as Ultima VII, or Half-Life) that the game came and went without even registering a blip on my radar. Although I didn't really get back into PC gaming until about 1999. I had always had some good PC games, in addition to my console gaming. But 1999 is when I pretty much quit playing consoles.
  5. That's what I thought. I just like to hear people reaffirm my grasp on reality.
  6. A Perfect Circle....if I recall they have a very "Tool" like sound (given that I think at least one band member was from Tool) do they not? I also like Tool....although just their radio songs. They're not radio songs are rather.....bizarre
  7. I'm listening to my air fan behind me. Aside from that, it's the sweet, sweet relaxing sound of silence. Although seriously my music preferences are bands like Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, U2, etc.
  8. Just curious....why do threads like this always seem to pop up?
  9. Grrrrrrr. I'm so a PC Gamer Although I did take a hiatus when I was younger, because it was so much easier to get games for consoles....plus I could play them with my friends easier and stuff. Last console I've owned was PSX though.
  10. Chun Li was a sex symbol? I mean, just because she wear's a scantily clad outfit, in in later iterations of the game when she does her fireball basically has her skirt flip up to expose her bare bum does not make her a sex symbol. I was literally left with my jaw hanging when one of my roommate's friends (whom I don't particularly care for BTW) made the comment "I don't see why they don't just let you unlock the ability to remove their clothes" when he was watching the trailer for DoA. And he was dead serious.
  11. That is true! I guess I can live with TOMBS DS, because it will make my TOMBS experience just as good. I imagine they are cross-platform compatible?
  12. Only if they port it to PC so I can play it :D
  13. Any staff working on hand helds is too much for me
  14. Errr, Ender...it looks like you just said that both of Kennedy's shots seem to have come from the rear.
  15. Some creativity would probably work well here. Unfortunately I have none and cannot help you. The cool thing about demons is you just need to adhere to the scary archetypes and mix and match them, and you get scary
  16. One of life's great mysteries.
  17. Some of the best IMO. Some have killer endings, and others have fantastic beginnings
  18. Ah interesting. Some talented people out there
  19. How can you run the emulators on your XBox (aside from knowing you need a modded XBox) Do you throw like a linux or something on there, or is there a decent enough OS that someone was able to port an existing emulator to the XBox?
  20. I think I may have baited her! Try here Muahahaha. :alanschu:
  21. Yes, there can be some interesting reads out there for PnP stuff....
  22. Need to direct her attention to this thread somehow <_<
  23. Ouch....or would it be? I'd suspect it'd be rather quick none-the-less.
