  1. Forgot about that one too!
  2. And I told you not to be ashamed of the odd double post "
  3. I have some experience with games that have been hindranced and sometimes severly handicapped because of the Xbox, which in itself is enough to make me sneer at those devices... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> - consoles steal games from the PC with exclusives - consoles make you buy a 400$ toy just to play games on - console-to-PC ports - console games are more expensive for no reason - its impossible to make software for a console without paying big $$$ to MS or Sony ..and the list goes on and on ad infinitum <{POST_SNAPBACK}> PCs make you pay $400+ for a single component. Knock consoles if you want, but your just being obtuse if you think the cost is a detriment.
  4. Hordes of the Underdark was not developed with MP in mind. Bioware explained this, and cited their reasons as the large amount of research they had done determining the fanbase of the NWN community (where they concluded the vast majority of them were SP only players). Furthermore, they also felt that making the campaigns for SoU and the OC work with MP compromised the quality of the single player campaign. It may have been patched to support it eventually, but it definitely did not when first released. http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.ht...ght=multiplayer http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.ht...layer+underdark http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.ht...layer+underdark http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.ht...layer+underdark No they didn't.
  5. Why is it untrackable? Depends on the bug I think. Would you be bothered with flickering GFX... guess not Would you be bothered if you were placed in prison, only to find in order to escape you needed X and you had sold X... then I guess you will be bothered, no? Also wouldn't you be bothered by exploits if playing online against others??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's not actually a bug. Exploits typically aren't bugs either. Then don't guess or give estimates. Simple, eh? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then that would piss people like you off. If they didn't say anything, and you bought it, you'd bitch because it's too short. That is definitely an attitude I can very much respect and appreciate. Wait a minute!
  6. Don't let that stop you. It doesn't stop anyone else around here! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hahahahaha!
  7. The shortness of game trend is the fault of consoles. Made ideally for kids with low attention spans, who have no desire to take all kinds of quests, or explore the story. Hey lets just make it hack n slash. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The majority of console gamers are adults. Besides, if it's just hack and slash then that's exactly what you're looking for in a game. You have said so yourself. Because I know that I tend to get a handle of games faster and play the game efficiently. It took me 20 to 25 hours to beat IWD 2. It took me 12 hours to beat BGDA. It took me 28 hours to beat KotOR 2. And so forth and so on. You guys spout estimate times, but each and every time I play a game I am under that estimate time by a good 25 to 50 percent. So, Feargus says 20, I expect to beat the game in 10 to 15. Not worth my time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> While walking everywhere too!
  8. No, but it does bring more value to the game.
  9. Yes yes, absolutely. While still having time to play your many, many PnP sessions with your friends, work, sleep, as well as play other new games. 30 to 40 times. Of course.
  10. Oh. My. God. It is in no way the same thing.
  11. I think this has a lot to do with digital distribution still being quite insignificant. But, it should make Battlewookie happy because it means more margin on the sale, which means more money for the developer.
  12. Since it was brought up: I haven't seen the Special Edition of the original Terminator.
  13. NHL

It's not the Olympics' fault that Jagr wanted to play.
  14. NHL

Fortunately, most NHL GM's aren't actually this retarded and are able to see beyond mere point contributions. If a team goes 82-0 and wins the Stanley Cup with Jagr scoring 0 points, I'd be surprised if they changed very much with the team at all.
  15. NHL

This statement does not surprise me.
  16. Yes, definitely. StarForce destroying processors now. At least the damaging of burnable media devices has merit.
  17. That's not what he's doing. He's boycotting for the sake of boycotting. I was never talking about buying the newest piece of crap. If EA releases an excellent game, then he should buy it. Because games would be a hell of a lot better than they are now. This likely has just as much (if not more) to do with the complete cluster**** StarForce did by sharing a bittorrent of a game that did not have Starforce protection on their forums. That bit of news actually made print newspapers.
  18. NHL

Woooo, Oilers win, with Brad Winchester scoring his first ever NHL goal, and having it being the GWG as well. He was glowing in the post game interview!
  19. I did get involved
  20. Very noble. Computer literacy and sexual education are very important :D
  21. Heh, oddly enough, I've never really thought of that argument when defending digital distribution. I'm usually focusing on dispelling the myths about the bad things about digital distribution rather than making counter arguments against the CD.
  22. Exactly. I typically like to get the extras with the boxed copy, but I've yet to be burned with digital download not letting me play after a reformat.
  23. I disagree with the notion that games have gotten shorter and shorter.
  24. Unlikely, because most (as in significantly huge majority) of the games can be beaten in a weekend Surely you mean, a subpar quality game will not create the same kind of "buzz" as Oblivion. Half-Life had mountains of buzz, and it's not exactly a long game. And this buzz was long before any mods came out like Counterstrike, and before patches came to fix the crap netcode. This shouldn't really be a point, since it's nothing more than a guess If it didn't pay to be "lazy," then games would be longer. You are in for a rude awakening if you finally get into the gaming industry.
