  1. I'm not the one stating how the lack of one feature has completely turned you off of a future game, despite the fact that a different game missing that feature is one of your favourite games of all time.
  2. Well, if you have an infinite number of them, if you piece together the single letter typed by some of them sitting beside each other, you'd get the works of shakespeare Naturally it wouldn't be as time approaches zero if you wanted them to completely type it out. But it would be done!
  3. If my computer is broken, I'm not playing any games. Though I can't remember the last time my computer was broken or anywhere near "a shop."
  4. You claim that a lack of character creation is a deal breaker for you, yet your #2 favourite game includes a pregen character. Gold!
  5. Or it just doesn't mean anything and you're spouting for nonsense.
  6. I haven't really had a problem with corruption...yet. Though my income is about 25k denarii at the moment. Oh, don't worry, I'm well aware of the directional nature of shields, and the Hypaspistai always get attacked from behind. I usually don't have much in the way of Cavalry (I'm a cheap bastard), but I usually make sure to get some troops attacking at least the side flanks, if not the rear. It's necessary against things like phalanxes. You use one legionary group to keep their phalanxes pointed in one direction. If they are using the sarissa, it's really hard to close the distance and attack, but if I can get some guys in on the side, I beat them up with sword to sword combat. Though it is mighty fun blasting through the flanks of a group in combat with cavalry and watching bodies fly. It typically use my General's unit though, as they have more HP and when they die, I'll eventually get free replacements anyways. Which Sarmatian Cavalry were you talking about? I was able to buy some Sarmatian Archer Cavalry, and they kick ass! If found the Framea Germani units fine as well. The large stack is nice, and I like melee units that have the few missile weapons before charging. I was just so used to my legionaries that I was surprised how quickly the Germani units were getting killed relatively speaking. More a compliment to the awesomeness of the legionaries
  7. WTF is a mental placebo on crack?
  8. Just like Planescape: Torment!
  9. Germania is dead, and I'm about to secure most of Macedonia. My armies in Carthage are being counter attacked. But I have like 9+ turns to bring in reinforcements. Plus my armies are typically legionaries, so if Carthage thinks they can take the towns, they may be in for a surprise. It's certainly not going anywhere without a fight!
  10. What is the default resolution of a 24" monitor? In any case, I could see that being a monitor where I may value FSAA a bit more
  11. But we want to bash the US!!!!
  12. I think some would still think it's the Super Sexy [KOTOR 2] Tech[nical Support] Forum.
  13. I'm actually not sure it could emulate it properly, given the architecture of the chip. I suppose anything is possible.
  14. CTO = Chief Technical Officer?
  15. My first idea was Techno-babble, but maybe that's too colliquial. My other boring though was Hardware Forum....but I guess it's not just limited to Hardware.
  16. I'd love to see the reaction from the international community and Israel's allies if Israel decided to start launching nuclear warheads.
  17. Fair enough. I like Jack Bauer, I like JD (though he's now dead), and Grissom is growing on me as well
  18. Actually this makes perfect sense, as I've seen the laptop we use at work frequently get used on the big screen for meetings, and I have seen it with the notebook's screen both on and off. I also have noticed no real difference in performance while splitting the signal, though we are just running around with NWN so it might not be a demanding enough of a game.
  19. Which is actually part of the reason why I haven't purchased a console for any of these games. As it turns out, I'm a bit lucky as the games have been coming to the PC as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Mass Effect comes to PC as well, and I want to do my part to tell the publishers and Bioware that I am willing to buy PC games.
  20. Hahahaha GOLD! Definitely a moment of realization.
  21. That's the boo-urns. Since I've stopped doing that, I have found RPGs more enjoyable as it means my actions do indeed have consequences.
  22. Unless I'm horribly mistaken, from a performance point of view, the game itself will render at the resolution the game is set at. Meta's explanation seems reasonable for what would happen to your laptop screen. In the worst case, I would expect that the laptop screen would go black as it is incapable of displaying the resolution specified. Kind of like when I tried running things at 1600x1200 on my old CRT. I don't know if a flat panel would respond any different than a CRT. As for the desktop view, you'd probably get pieces of the desktop truncated or something like that.
  23. Wouldn't the resolution be determined by the application itself. If anything I'd suspect it'd force both montiors into that resolution, and you'd get stretching and stuff in the one you weren't using. If dual monitors required renderings for both monitors (when it's just a split image), playing a game at high resolution with full on AF and AA effects would be a very large performance hit. An easy way to test is to see your performance with a single monitor attached, and with two.
