  1. Valve's design paradigm is probably better suited for the PC, as they seem to be very meticulous and patient. A 5-6 year development time for a game is probably a negative for a console game.
  2. I typically make sure I come at them from all sides. I also try to have a cavalry unit as well. Though this doesn't help a whole lot with the horse archers :\
  3. I use GAIM at work, and it works pretty well.
  4. I'm harping on it because you're being a twit by saying the pregen is a deal breaker, yet at the same time you have no problems stating that a game with a pregen is your #2 favourite game of all time. It may not be your most played CRPG, but by your own words, it's your second favourite one. Don't want to by the game because you aren't a fan of Gothic 2, then fine. Why you decide to come into a thread about Gothic 3, knowing you aren't interested in the game and are not even a fan of the series is beyond me. But don't go around saying that it's a deal breaker, when clearly it's not. If you were willing to let it go. You would have. But instead, postCount++
  5. Actually, it looks like you specifically said no sale because of the pregen character. Which means it's a deal breaker. Things change? So that means you no longer like PST?
  6. I actually sort of agree.
  7. I'd be very surprised if you needed that $4000 computer to play NWN2.
  8. You asked if Gothic 3 would have a pregen or not. When you were told not, you said that that was a big deal for you. Based on the current discussion, it seems you are being critical of Gothic 3 for its lack of character creation, rather than any supposed similarities to Gothic 2.
  9. Tech Plaza works for me. It's a bit more non-chalant so people won't think it's tech support. But maybe we should get rid of the word tech altogether? Hardware Plaza?
  10. Well, don't forget that the original GeForce wasn't very good at Hardware T&L either. In many cases you could still get faster performance by letting the processor deal with it. I still think physics cards will eventually become popular. I guess the big problem here is that the GeForce cards were still better at doing the rendering. I'm sure if the Voodoo was initially poorer than a CPU, the 3D accelerator craze would never have started off as strong as it did. Which is a definite disadvantage of the physics cards right now.
  11. I'm not the one stating how the lack of one feature has completely turned you off of a future game, despite the fact that a different game missing that feature is one of your favourite games of all time.
  12. Well, if you have an infinite number of them, if you piece together the single letter typed by some of them sitting beside each other, you'd get the works of shakespeare Naturally it wouldn't be as time approaches zero if you wanted them to completely type it out. But it would be done!
  13. If my computer is broken, I'm not playing any games. Though I can't remember the last time my computer was broken or anywhere near "a shop."
  14. You claim that a lack of character creation is a deal breaker for you, yet your #2 favourite game includes a pregen character. Gold!
  15. Or it just doesn't mean anything and you're spouting for nonsense.
  16. I haven't really had a problem with corruption...yet. Though my income is about 25k denarii at the moment. Oh, don't worry, I'm well aware of the directional nature of shields, and the Hypaspistai always get attacked from behind. I usually don't have much in the way of Cavalry (I'm a cheap bastard), but I usually make sure to get some troops attacking at least the side flanks, if not the rear. It's necessary against things like phalanxes. You use one legionary group to keep their phalanxes pointed in one direction. If they are using the sarissa, it's really hard to close the distance and attack, but if I can get some guys in on the side, I beat them up with sword to sword combat. Though it is mighty fun blasting through the flanks of a group in combat with cavalry and watching bodies fly. It typically use my General's unit though, as they have more HP and when they die, I'll eventually get free replacements anyways. Which Sarmatian Cavalry were you talking about? I was able to buy some Sarmatian Archer Cavalry, and they kick ass! If found the Framea Germani units fine as well. The large stack is nice, and I like melee units that have the few missile weapons before charging. I was just so used to my legionaries that I was surprised how quickly the Germani units were getting killed relatively speaking. More a compliment to the awesomeness of the legionaries
  17. Germania is dead, and I'm about to secure most of Macedonia. My armies in Carthage are being counter attacked. But I have like 9+ turns to bring in reinforcements. Plus my armies are typically legionaries, so if Carthage thinks they can take the towns, they may be in for a surprise. It's certainly not going anywhere without a fight!
  18. What is the default resolution of a 24" monitor? In any case, I could see that being a monitor where I may value FSAA a bit more
  19. I think some would still think it's the Super Sexy [KOTOR 2] Tech[nical Support] Forum.
