  1. It looks silly now, but it used to be in Computer and Console.
  2. BMI is brutal, because it is literally just a ratio of weight to height (squared). It doesn't factor in muscle mass at all either. The formula for BMI, in SI units is literally: weight/height^2

San Jose is really going to be feeling the pressure now. I wonder if they're going to make changes if they can't get deep into the playoffs. Vancouver has a stranglehold on their series for sure. It's looking like the other Western Canadian team is destined for an early playoff exit. Rumors are that Keenan will get the axe if that's the case.
  4. ... I give you MYTHBUSTERS! of course where else can you see a steel plate slam into a car at 640 miles per hour? Or cement trucks exploding! haha.
  5. The term is not static. Historically Liberals were the ultimate in laissez-faire. Neo-Liberal usually refers to this time of Liberalism. I find it changes with conservatives wanting to preserve the status quo, and liberals seeking to change it.
  6. There's two camps that taunt each other are there to make the strongest case for each side. They aren't supposed to be objective. Not sure about the minority culture comment, but whatever. The show is entertaining. If you're watching SpikeTV for balls to the wall scientific methodology (or any TV show in particular), you're probably going to be disappionted.
  7. The difference is that Neo-Cons want to force their views on others and take over, while I do not. I think the world would be better off if everyone just left everyone else alone and minded their own business. I am a fiscal conservative, but on many social issues I have a liberal bias. Of course, placing a label on a person is a lot easier than actually doing a breakdown issue by issue. I mean Neo-Liberal... >.> <.<
  8. Are blacks more likely to be criminals or are they more likely to be criminalized by the justice system? The issue with crime is that there's the dark figure of crime. Weight is a much easier thing to measure. Having said that, we have too much fixation on actual weight. There are "fat" people that are indeed healthier than the vast majority of people. Some compete in triathlons! Though bad health and obesity are highly correlated.

Ooo, wasn't expecting the Rangers to be up 2-0 in the series for sure.
  10. I like the tweaks to my mutilate build. Spend less time keeping up HfB and more time doing megadamage
  11. I read the wikipedia page. But just to be clear, if I were to make a user account that did not have administrator privileges, I would not be able to install Mass Effect for PC?
  12. Some looking into it, since I've seen people accuse SecuROM of being a rootkit. According to wikipedia, a rootkit does not grant user administrator access. Is it incorrect? Or am I not understanding something about SecuROM and rootkits?
  13. Question was genuine. My experience on dealing with root privileged applications, and what their capabilities are, is quite limited actually (especially from the point of view of creating said applications).
  14. So SecurROM could read my tax documents, personal pictures, videos, and every bit of data under the sun that I store on my personal computer?
  15. I'm pretty anti-smoking too, as a non-smoker Hurlshot and I are kindred spirits! Except when Oilers play the Sharks

Wow what a dirty, dirty play by Bieksa at the end of the game. Total intentional trip on the player at the end of the game.
  17. I'm curious what buildings constitute a "factory." I don't see any difference haha.

Nice goal by Bill Guerin and tough break for the Devils, though the 'Canes were totally dominating that overtime.
  19. Again, while I don't know the swedish system, I am guessing that their murderers and rapists are incarcerated, rather than given fines. Am I incorrect in this assumption? In Canada a murderer pays a $0 fine, but gets a life sentence with parole after 25 years.
  20. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30265030/ I hope its $3.6 million each. Every single movie and music cd/dvd I own is store bought. We need more prison time for them. One year is not enough. Here is the best way to see this: PirateBay is providing the escape car while someone robs a bank or store. They are literally saying, "I will drive the car anywhere in the world. All you have to do is ask, and we will drive you to the door. Don't tell me what your doing, but I have no problem sitting in the driver's seat to transport you." If you think about their car as being a massive vessel (world wide), you can only guess at how many theives they are transporting. They are a accessory to several crimes. We are not talking about a small franchise that does smaller crimes. To clarify I didn't mean that they were getting a fine instead of jail time. The person was comparing the fine to the fine that rapists and murderers get (in Canada they don't get fined, they get incarcerated).

A lot of people are making a big deal about the OT game winner for Chicago. Am I the only one that thought that the interference was minimal, in large part due to Leopold bumping the player, in addition to Kipprusoff trying to sell it a bit?
  22. I suspect they are getting a fine in lieu of jail time.
  23. No, you're not correct. Of the 4 of us living in residence, only I had issues with money. Ironically, I bought more games while in University than when I was out of University, and I'm not even the rich kid. I keep bringing stuff like this up because anecdotal evidence doesn't mean very much. My roommate buys his games now because the private torrent site he used to go to went down and he doesn't like the hassle of using public torrent sites. There was a lot of piracy when I went to University, because people liked getting stuff for free and living on campus gave them the bandwidth to actually do it. I know people that bought less games simply because it was so much easier to pirate after they moved to University and got access to high speed internet.
