I just put together a new system and everything is going great with one possible exception - one core of the CPU is running about 5-10C hotter than the other. Does anyone know if this is a major issue or could I ignore it for the time being? EDIT: For instance one core is currently at 23c and the other 33c.

Sure, but it needs to stay in the realm of philosophy and not try to pass itself off as science (although I would say that there is some flaws in the philosophy as well).

That's the only reason I can't justify buying PC for gaming. Spending 1k on a computer just to play video games (unless you are doing some sort of editing and need a system for that) seems a little ridiculous to me. Cost efficiency is the reason I play consoles now. I'm not trying to start a flamewar, just making the observation that, even if you only upgrade once every 5 years (which I doubt), I still only pay $400 for a console. Well this was a total upgrade -id est the case, PSU, monitor, etc.- so it was a bit more expensive than a normal one, but, yes, if you want to game on the cheap consoles offer a nice option for those who want to spend ~$250-400. Still, I like PC gaming more and 1k is not that much if you're dividing it out over a few years -upgrading parts over time- or only dropping that once and awhile -every 3-5 years for a total upgrade-.

I'm running the installer with administer rights and in a compatibility mode, as for the bad registries I found those links too but I was hoping that someone here, seeing as this is a hotbed of BGII fans, would know a fix.

I'm trying to install BGII but keep getting "Error number: 0x80040707" - any ideas? I'm almost positive the game used to work perfectly too, so this is a bit odd.

I thought Mask of the Betrayer was actually one of the better expansions to come out...
