  1. I know there is an issue with the 8800 and 8600, but I cannot remember how to fix it. However, we do have some people who play Kot0R I/II with that card - so maybe they can help you.
  2. LOL. Typo or does the shot just last through the years...? I think it lasts for around five-ten years before you need to think about getting a booster, although I might be wrong.
  3. Welcome to the forum, by the way!

  4. And there are lots of "good" people spreading the word over there, just is case anyone was actually using one!
  5. Than what is "excessive wealth?"
  6. To repost a slightly edited version of something I wrote awhile back: I'm Pro-choice, although I think that abortion is indirectly a bad thing; it's a symptom of a bigger problem. Namely, that something failed along the way. Maybe the birth control failed (we need more research into birth control to develop methods more reliable, and we also need to stop denying adults sterilizations simply because they're under an arbitrary limit set by patronizing "professionals"). Maybe the woman was practicing abstinence as birth control but was raped. Maybe she simply didn't feel that she could take control of her own reproduction, or lack thereof, and didn't try. Except when it's a medically necessary procedure to save life or avoid serious injury/illness, the need for an abortion means that something went wrong and a woman got pregnant who didn't want to. I don't LIKE the idea of abortion, but feel it's preferable to forcing people to continue pregnancies against their will and forcing them to choose between raising an unwanted child or putting yet another one into an already overloaded adoption and foster care system. I think a better solution would be to give people more power over their own bodies - an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and in this case preventing pregnancy in the first place is better than abortion after it's too late for prevention. But it's necessary to keep it safe and keep it legal because we don't HAVE 100% effective methods of birth control yet. Medications fail and can be affected by other necessary medications. Abstinence fails in the case of rape. Sterilization is almost impossible to obtain under 30. Basically, I'd like to get rid of most abortions by making them UNNECESSARY, so that the vast majority of abortions sought were for purely medical reasons. Not because they're morally bad, but because they're a sign of a failure somewhere in medicine or in society. But this is getting off-topic...
  7. How is it not good? If someone, like Bill Gates, uses his money to do good things -in addition to having a lot for himself- who is suffering?
  8. Sorry, I meant the Catholic Church - the one this thread was addressing.
  9. And I thought the Church was already opposed to birth-control and stem-cell research - why do they need to say it again?
  10. What, you OD'd on childrens Tylenol once? Was it the grape or bubblegum flavor? No. = agree that X is bad = disagree that X is bad
  11. Well, I seem to disagree, pr have reservations about, the majority of the new "sins" - oh well, I guess it's a good thing I don't belive in that...

  13. Yeah, it is weird - but that's the only reason I can come up with that makes sense.

  14. I've been able to play through with relatively high humanity with both clans -of course Brujah does not have the issue you mentioned- and the "giving in" is more along the lines of becoming like a Nosferatu - a beast that should not be seen by the common humans. Gangrels do have the tendency to go berserk more often, depending on what powers you use, but if you figure out how to play them you can manage those. If you do decide to play one, I'll talk to a friend, who only plays as clan Gangrel, for some pointers and post those.
  15. 21 Century (Digital Boy) - Bad Religion
  16. I have yet to buy MotB, but it sounds like they did make it more mature than the original campaign.
  17. Well, Gangrels can be interesting to play -although I don't really like them either-, and it is hard to find a clan that can beat either one in a hand-to-hand brawl. If you ever did want to run through using only your fists, one of those two clans would be the one to choose.
  18. What clan are you playing this time round? I just finished up a game with a Malk, and I might run through with either a Brujah or a Toreador soon.
  19. I'm playing Brawl at the moment, although that has been paused while I get a paper done and attend classes...
  20. Unless the CPU is soldered into the motherboard, it should be able to be upgraded - and you can find some nice deals out there. It helps that the C2D I have is the newer generation, so the socket it uses is the same as higher clocked CPUs (and the board itself can take up to a 2.4 or 2.6 C2D - I would, of course, look up the specs before upgrading). I went with a Vostro 1500 from Dell, and I could not find a better deal out there at the time. You might want to look at the Vostro 1700, it is a 17" rather than a 15", but you can get a nice little laptop that can also game for under $900 if you wanted to save some money for, say, a desktop gaming PC.
  21. I have a low Ghz Core 2 Duo in my laptop and, with 2GB RAM and a 8600M, I can play the Orange Box games at 40-60 fps. The laptop was under $800, so if you might want to consider something similar - and you can always upgrade the CPU later if you need to.
  22. Hope you enjoy your new PC, it looks good!
  23. I didn't get it last night, but I'm going to pick-up my pre-order tomorrow.
