Abstinence-only sexual education is a well-proven failure, although some parts of the Republican Party refuse to acknowledge this, and should be stuck from the school curriculum in favor of something that might actually be of some practical use. So, yes, indirectly sexual education, or, rather, the lack of a proper one, is responsible for some of the problem.
