Favorite Star Wars Movie?
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to Dark_Raven's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I must respectfully disagree. I found it completely ridiculous. "Help me save my wife!" "Sure, but you must convert to the Dark Side!" "Okay, I'll go kill some kids now." In contrast, ESB was filled with excellent character development, cliffhangers, plot twists, and more mature treatment of good and evil (in an imperfect world, should one let one's friends die in order to ensure victory for Good later, or save them now, and risk Evil triumphing?). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't whole-heartedly disagree, ESB was everything you say it was, but to say Anakin's seduction was completely ridiculous is slightly over-the-top. Firstly, Love is a strange thing. It helps people to have a purpose in life, being loved by someone brings people comfort and knowing the sense that if anything were to go wrong that person would be there for you, to hold you up as the world crashes down around you. There are a lot of people who give anything to hold onto that connection. Sure most people wouldn't kill children to save that connection. But for the same reason why mankind isn't perfect, there are people who will do just that. I'm not going to be racist or anything, but you can drew comparisons to today's world. There are people who are willing to become martyrs, and kill people, children even perhaps by accident, to protect their beliefs but most importantly for those they care about. And when you see Anakin in that light, I realise that his just another one of those people who are willing to do what they think is right for their loved ones. Now being a martyr doesn't mean you have to turn to the Darkside, because remember even in the Star Wars Universe, 'Good' and 'Evil' is a point of view as said by Palpatine in the Opera house. Anakins view was that the Jedi were Evil, and what he was doing was Good in order to protect the ones he loved. Lucas has been known to draw his ideas from myth and legend, but also from today's society. His not brilliant at it, compared to perhaps the Wachowski Brothers (dudes behind The Matrix), but he knows how to get an idea across. What's your point of view? You have to ask yourself what would you do to hold on to that connection? knowing that possibly you could never find it again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i think it was not just the fact that he was in love with Padme, but also the fact that it was a forbidden love. this made him somewhat possesive of her, therefore breaking another part of the jedi code, and this created guilt. it also made him jealous of padme and bitter toward the jedi for denying her from him. add to all this the dream of her dying, and he became even more obsessed with her. when palpatine approached him, offered him a solution, and encouraged his doubts about the the jedi council's compentence, and he is easily swayed to the dark side. it did not help much that Anakin was not found as an infant, and he did not receive all of the proper training most other jedi do. palpatine befriended him at an early age; he may have been closer to Anakin than Obi-wan was. and in ROTS, the jedi played right into Palpatine's plans by putting him on the council but not making him a master, sending Obi-wan to catch General Grevious instead of him, unofficially asking anakin to spy on his best friend, and later attempting to arrest the chancellor, leading to the dual. this only served to destroy any remaining trust Anakin had in the jedi. from there, the rest of the pieces fall into place. -
Who is your favorite K1 npc
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to Darth Jarize's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
My thoughts exactly. Amen to that! she is far too overrated. she improved slightly when she turns to the dark side, but even then she is too pompous, like once she turned she wanted to run around and tell everyone... Hk is dabomb his stories about his owners are funny. and his opinions on my actions :D and of course we love his dark humor. carth whines to much. Juhani, i usually kill her on dantooine, hate her preaching about me abusing my powers. jolee is alright, but i think he is overrated too. he says he disagrees with the jedi but sides with them when i turn to the dark side. big Z is a walking carpet, T3 is a useless tin can, canderous at least stays loyal to me and his stories are cool. mission is alright, but she whines too much when i turn to the DS. i always have the walking carpet kill her (the one thing he is useful for) -
Most powerful Jedi.
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)'s topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Luke was not all powerful in the least. in fact if you read some of the EU books he seems rather weak. the only reason he was grand master of the jedi is because all of the other jedi were dead or in hiding, and because Ben told him to bring back the jedi order. this does not make him "god" or whatever. in fact, he has little more experience than his students, and it shows in his ignorance of the dark side and light side. he was trained by Obi-wan and Yoda, who had to be two of the most ignorant jedi i have ever seen. despite having their entire order slaughtered around them for their weakness and hypocrisy, they clung to their hollow teachings of the dark and light side, of emotion being forbidden and their false jedi code. as for the force powers the jedi have, they each have their own unique strength. any jedi can any powers, some happen to be stronger than others in certain areas of the force. and force powers can be named in a game (ie. force crush, force grip) but if you think about it, these are just standards for a game. in books or movies, you never see people naming the force powers, but rather "used the force..." no offense or anything, its just that saying "the exile can use force crush" sounds a bit strange. but i would have to say that the jedi and sith of the old republic are easily stronger than those of the clone wars and the new republic. i mean, look at darth traya. she killed those sith assasins in the end with her mind... lets see luke do that. and killing an opponent is not always more powerful. revan was considered powerful by the fact that she did not kill the jedi, but rather forced them to see her side. and Nihilus, heck, he killed an entire planet with the force. as did Naga Sadow. and as kreia said, "the jedi of today are but children playing with toys compared to the masters of old." (think i got that right) -
which droid do you like the most?
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to Rebelscum's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You can also recover vitality by meditating with T3. He also has several secrets to reveal if you build influence with him (including the holographic message by either Bastila or Carth), which - after several increases to T3's stats - ends with a boost to the Exile's Wisdom score. Bloody useful, if you ask me. Besides, I prefer the dependable, trustworthy little T3 to blood-hungry, uncaring HK-47 any day of the week. HK-47 may be fun (you gotta love a droid that can *gulp* ), but I can't trust and could never turn my back on him! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> besides the repair bonuses on T3, though, he is worthless. especially against dark jedi. and HK is progammed to be loyal to his master, he cannot purposefully harmed him. the death's of his masters in K1 were their fault. and from looking at the votes, HK is kicking his metal rear end -

Favorite Star Wars Movie?
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to Dark_Raven's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
ROTS would be my favorite, i liked the opening battle scene. and ESB would have to be next. then AOTC. TPM wasnt so bad with the ending battle, but i hated the gungans. ANH and ROTJ were just terrible in my opinion, i hated the sappy, happily-ever after endings, especially all the fireworks in ROTJ and the rebel gathering in ANH. the award metals given to the heroes just made it feel too much like a fairy tale. i prefer movies where the good guys sort of win, but lose as well. or even better, when the good guys lose as for lightsaber battles, the one in TPM was cool. the one in AOTC between yoda and dooku was really cool. the fight between yoda and palpy wasnt a lightsaber dual so much as it was a challenge as to who was stronger in the force. the stunts were still pretty good, though. the dual between Anakin and Obi-wan just blew me away, but i thought the ending came around as unexpected, almost too quick. Obi-wan's dual with grevious had a lot of potential, but wasnt much in the end. you never really got to see how grevious could fight against less powerful jedi. the dual between Anakin and dooku in both movies did not contain much acrobats, but the emotion in them made the duals interesting to watch. compared to the NT, the duals from the OT "are like children playing with toys", as kreia said. I watched them all in order, just for fun, and was sorely dissapointed with the action. the dual with vader and luke in ESB could be summed up by saying "they fight". same with the dual in ANH. i know these are much older movies, but that is why i like ROTS better. the space fights in the OT were bad as well. anyway, there's my opinion. dont flame me if you dont agree. -

which droid do you like the most?
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to Rebelscum's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
give HK his upgraded assassin rifle, his Capacitor armour and his assassination module, and he owns... G0T0 isnt so bad, though, with his stealth booster and droid trick. T3 is better in this game, with his renewable shield. the remote is worthless. i wish i could just shoot that worthless lump, or leave it on telos. -
Mission is gone
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
what is that supposed to do? i thought mission went back to the ship with the others. or do you mean so he can see her on the ship? im a scoundrel/consular, so my awareness is pretty high. i still cant see her -
ok, my problem is that mission has disappeared. i used her to free the rest of the party from the leviathon, and i forgot to take her out of stealth mode. so now on the ebon hawk after we have escaped, she is not there to say her dialogue. carth says that bastila sacrificed herself to let us get away and mission is supposed to say "you mean she's dead?" only problem is, she doesnt. dialogue ends, and i can walk around the ship and talk to the party members, who respond as they would normally. i cant exit the ship or select the galaxy map, so im stuck. and my only save game is just before meeting malak, so i cant take mission out of stealth mod. my last world that i have to finish is korriban. can i just warp here? if so what do i type in?

Kotor2 Romance
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to Darth Jarize's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
i prefer to stick with my jedi killer, atton. he's more loyal and not naive like disciple. as he said, "i will follow you to hell and back." i like his scoundrel personality. and he is pretty cute. Bao-dur is not so bad, but he wouldnt make a good romance option. he's better as a friend. disciple is just retarded and anoying. as a male, i go for handmaiden, cuz you actually gain some bonuses from talking and sparring with her. she makes a pretty good jedi, too. to bad mira wasnt a choice, but is guess they had to put a limit on the romances. it would be cool if you could get a romance option with mandalore. -
Vong Mentioning in KOTOR 1. . .
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to jordyh's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Why it's a representative from Bioware! Top of the morning to you! <_< It was suggested and/or assumed that the ship Canderous talked about was of Vong designed. I merely am doubting that is the case for previously stated reasons. I am not, however, doubting that there is some sort of allusion ongoing in the lines Canderous spoke. That's all. Of course thanks to your constructive comments, this "debate" currently stands at a standstill. As for Dantooine/Alderaan example, what type of people are most likely to play KOTOR? Star Wars fans! Now keep in mind that Episode 4: "A New Hope" came out about 2 and a half decades prior to the release of KOTOR. Therefore, what we have is Bioware alluding to the infamous scene with Princess Leia and Grand Moff Tarkin aboard the Death Star. It's just like when Kreia alludes to Boba Fett, while she mentions what will happen to the Mandalorians. To allude, by the way, is to make an indirect reference. I mean seriously, only Star Wars fans would appreciate the irony of that scene aboard the Leviathan. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> actually, kreia was refering to jango fett, as boba fett was not killed by a jedi. as for the coralskippers not having hyperdrives, that is not true. in one of the books, anakin, corran and tahari all take a corralskipper scout (which matches canderous' description of the ship in the game) to duro after they stumbled upon a vong fleet. and the leviathon level with the Alderaan/dantooine mention is just an ironic scene, along with the confrontation between the heroes and malak. -
Cut Sceen Problems
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to i_am_joey_jo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
it does that on mine, too sometimes. i notice also that when this happens, the players dont scream their battle cries or make their wounded noises. if you reload sometimes it works; otherwise, i simply read what they said under the feedback or something like that (or if you've played it enough, you just memorize what they say and dont worry about it) -
Lightsaber Parts
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to sith_bombardment's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
in my game i just kind of stumbled upon the parts and when talking to Bao-Dur saw an option to ask him about the lightsaber parts, so i asked him and made a lightsaber. i didnt even have to go out of my way to get the parts, so i voted easy as pie. -

Star Forge vs. Death Star
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to Dyan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
star forge owns... the death star would have to get in range and would be pulled into the sun. and as proved in ANH, it only took one fighter and a force sensitive pilot to take that down. the only reason the republic was able to defeat the forge was because of bastila's battle meditation... if you added that to the star forges fleet, the death star would be wiped out. not even the imperial fleet could stand in the way; as proved in ROTJ the executer was taken out by the wimpy rebel fleet. the sith fleet would easily take it out. and the star forge can easily make any kind of ship if programmed to, including the death star. you saw the size of the SF compared to the sun, it was huge. as for the sith fighters dying in one or two shots, the TIE fighters did as well... at least the star forge was not just a "technological terror", it was a powerful artifact of the dark side. just my two cents, dont flame me if your opinion differs from mine. -

Favorite ranged npc character?
HK-47_THE_MEATBAG_KILLER replied to ShadowBoxer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
mind you, revan did create HK to kill jedi... that alone should count for something. and if he used his flamethrower and carbonite projector more often in K2, he could really kick booty... a shame they dont have the "droid support" mode like in K1
